  • I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS haha

  • I've seen so many people use these cool flo lights recently and these will probably be the type of lights I get when I get my first set of SoftBoxes.

  • Very nice,good info

  • Most impossible soft box I've ever tried to assemble. First one I received ripped out where you put the end of the rods. Metal reflective plate bent up because the elastic caught it while I was trying to assemble it. They sent me a new one and that ripped out too because there simply wasn't enough material to get the velcro to go together in the final step. There is no video showing how to assemble this box. My guess - because you can't do it flawlessly on camera. 3200 K bulbs N/A

  • I HOPE YOU PICK ME !!!!!!

    Another cool review =)

  • cool!

  • cool video

  • Cool!

  • SUBCRIBED

  • Ok...I'm still confused. If I'm filming indoors, I have to use 3200k blubs? even if there is sun light coming in?

  • nice stuff

  • wow, nice lights!

  • comment

  • i just recently got a green screen i know how to use it but i dont need good light does that mean i dont have a good software??

  • Crayons are your friend

  • Cool!

  • I'm probably getting these lights. :D

  • Thanks man. May get these lights soon. Good review

  • Nice

  • cool

  • You are the best on youtube u rock!

  • PICK ME I WANNA WIN!!!

  • Sweet lights!

  • Koolio

  • NICE NICE NICE

  • nice job

  • hmmm

  • Nice light.

  • Awesome vid.. as always

  • You look a little dim! I have a set of Cool-Flo for video, but I think the build quality is a little poor

  • Greetings Mark, I just brought two Cool Flo Lights. It is definitely a good investment. However, they are extremely tough to assemble single handedly. I was wondering if you had the spare time if you could do an assemble tutorial. I did notice at full power there is a slight humming noise. Nothing of major concern though. But it doesn't have dead silence. I am using a small room, and with all the lights off. One CFL can light up the whole room if pointed at the ceiling.

  • How about white balance problems? I've heard some fluorescent lighting can cause white balance settings to fluctuate during filming. Is that an issue at all with these lights?

  • Thanks

  • you rock markapsolon also i bought that camcorder you preffered a long time ago

  • very helpful as always, Hideyho guys! love it!

  • cheers mate this helped a bunch!

  • thank you..

i agree with the user /buzekohi/

    mark apsolon for president ;]

  • ur like a genius when it comes to editing lol. can u edit my videos??? lol jks. but seriously... think about it...

  • i bought these. they are working REALLY well!

  • I would buy all those things if you are included on it. :)

  • awesome, hey. . .just a thought. . .instead of 5 thumbs u should rate products out of 5 Marks. "This gets 4 marks" is kinda catchy don't you think? :-)

  • great idea. I'll use it on the later episodes. thanks you rock!

  • THank you Mark A,I enjoy all your videos. They are really helpful

  • hey dude. Are you using after effects now. At 0:18 the fire behind the text looks like when you make fire using fractal noise. Just wondering. Awesome videos, and i see you post in hd now. (or maybe you always have??)

  • no after effects in this one. The background are some of the background that I created a long time ago and used to sell. Its actually just a texture behind me and not fire :)

  • why does it say, watch in hd, instead of watch in high quality?

  • Mark Apsolon for President

  • I wish I would have won..lol

  • im having problems keeping my green screen well lit parts of it are great but its uneven i only use one work light it works perfect sometime in my videos here and sometimes i cant remember where i put it last so it just messes it all up :(

  • You might be using too much light. Diffused light works best for consistency

  • This is nuts. A typical car Xenon will consume 30W and put out 10-20X more illumination. Better yet, no need for cooling. The softbox is bought in any store.

  • By the time you have bought the Xenon bulbs ($100 USD for two) and made the housing you have spent more than one of the Coo Flo lights cost. I remember back in the day when you could run down to your local Wal-mart and pick up a softbox...lol ;)

  • All this is true and Xenon has more spectrum in the white light band. The colours are more natural under the light of Xenon.

  • does anyone know of a good cheap prosumer camera witth a built in shotgun mike like the one at :01 ?

  • Try the DVINFO site. They have details on every camera.

  • My cam does not come with a built in shotgun, most of the good cams have a mount for it but you have to buy it separately.

  • does tube tape have a stock ticker symbol?

  • I wish..lol They have so much of my money :)

  • Thanks for all the great info Mark!

    (((HUGS)))

  • HUG back at you Diana ;)

  • Cool lights+this is no big deal but at 5:20 u spelt bulbs "blubs" but i have done that too. cool vids though

  • god. I just noticed it! thanks I have to watch my spelling..lol

  • wat r barn doors?

  • The control your direct light

  • mikma was here

  • mikma! you should take a look at my coin videos you will probably like them :)

  • I like your style Mark. You give the information that's WORTH having! I feel ready to make my lighting purchase now. :)

  • Now Flo was a waitress at Mel's dinner. But no amount of lighting ever made her look that cool to me. (she'd probably tell me that I could, "Kiss her grits!") I probably need this because I keep popping my halogen light bulbs and they are kinda spendy!

  • That is too funny :)

  • Advertise muchhhh?!

  • Great review! Hope your DVD set is doing well :)

  • I wonder if the no-barn-doors was a production cost factor or if they didn't want to step on the toes of some other product they sell. Anyway, I think the magic of compact fluorescent is great...big energy saver, and with a 900 W equivalent, that's a lot of light.

  • I think they did not put barndoors on it because the lamp housing is very large. It would be hard to direct the light.

  • thanks :) They are going pretty good :)

  • What a great product! More than i ever knew about the lamp systems and prices!

  • Good review. I've always been hesitant about CFL lighting systems. You could have made the review a bit shorter, but for me, it wasn't an issue.

(do I smell a give-away contest style video coming up?)

  • Please, Please, Please take this the right way. You could have summed up the light in 1 minute or less. It's a light. You didn't get into how a camera reacts to Fluorescent vs Incandescent lights.

3 switches, 32" spread, boom and stand, 3200 and 5400, no flicker! there ya go.

I only say this because I make my own lights. $5 aluminum clamp lamp/dishes with GE Reveal bulbs and it's all good.

You still have the best produced videos on YT, and I love the swoosh sound.

  • no problem Joe. Constructive criticism is a good thing. I will try and make the review a little short in future episodes. I just was trying to get all the points across :)

  • I confess I didn't understand half of that... but I'm still drooling over it. LOL

    Keep up the good work!

  • cool! :)

  • Beautiful uses of white screen in that Intro, I must be rubbing off on you, lol. Thanks for your Well wishes on my getting featured Mark, if you keep doing good video you'll be up there with me in no time, lol, Ok I learned everything of hours/years of boredom listening to you. I guess I was really listening

  • mmmm...BLUBS!

  • blubs :)

  • oh man that is so cool you should give that away!!

    to me!!....lol

  • who know it might happen!

  • I just got the MX lighting kit thanks to your lighting video : )

    -Cory

  • I have review on the MX series next. :) Those are my favorites.

  • Very nice Mark.

    Loved it.

  • thanks. More on the way :)

  • Also I am getting a green screen for Christmas, my grandma is going to make it herself so it will fit perfectly to my PVC pipe I will be hanging it from.

I will be sure to use your Lighting tips since that seems to the area I will have the most trouble with. I use Adobe After Effects for effects, so the chroma key should be easy enough on there.

  • Do you use a Canon Camera?

  • I have in the past but this video was shot with a panasonic

  • Panasonic P2?

  • The hell is a barn door?

  • It directs the light in the area you want the light to go.

  • i love watching these vids they r sooooo entertainer and interesting

  • Dude, I love watching ur vids cuz u have alot of cool helpful tips.

  • thanks

  • is that the video?

  • yup its just a review. I have other stuff going up tomorrow

  • Nice Review

  • thanks dude
