Religion doesn't ruin anything. It's good to see how weaklings need to BUILD something divine.
It definitely makes you feel much more than simply divine to be so strong, so intelligent and so superior that you don't need God at all.
That being said, everyone is allowed to believe anything they want.

For any person to deny their own fragility and weakness is ignorant. Even the strongest and most proud human is a breath away from insignificance.
Belief in God however is a recognition that our insignificance is overcome by His perfection.
You look at this video and say look at what a human can do. I look at this video and say look at what God can do.

@FreeThoughtSolution If you believe that we are just organisms behaving according to instincts based off of ancestry which became life from molecules spontaneously interacting according to laws which were created by some sort of cosmic hiccup than there is literally no way you can derive any sort of significance from this achievement.

Well i must consider you an ignorant person for assuming there is no way to gain pleasure in finishing such an event w/o an imaginary figure. I have not done an Ironman yet, but I do plan to. I have finished long races and back to back long races. Pushing my body further than it has gone before. And because I follow only that we are human and not empowered by some fake being, it means more that I alone did it.
I'll THINK for you.. :-)

@FreeThoughtSolution i never said you can't gain pleasure from completing the iron man. Pleasure and significance are definitely not interchangeable though. If you believe that life has no meaning other than "feeling good" then i'll have to think you an ignorant person.
