I have been wondering about something for quite a while, and now that I want to buy a new mixer, I thought I'd ask you... what exactly is the advantage of having XLR outputs on a mixer?

I found a lot of talk about balanced and unbalanced signal but I didn't figure what exactly it's for, and why I should or should not make this a criteria when buying a new mixer...

I'd be very grateful if you could clear this up!

Okay, I sort of got an answer. (google "bose xlr cables technical discussion" for an easy explanation on balanced signals)

XLR cables will reduce the noise in the cables between mixer and amp, so I guess it depends on if I'm planning to use the mixer in a club environment or not... :)

P&Gs or other kind? is it good for scratching and how many effects does it have? can you name them? plus something i wanted to ask is the DJM 700 good for scratching or should i just keep the TTM57? i really want the easy access to the effects and the good faders so whats better? Fader start makes the CDJ's start playing the track as soon as you slide the fader in the appropriate channel.
