I actually have the same question as GranolaHeads2010 about what did you mix the henna with? how much water? why was their tea on the side in the pic? and why did your scalp look orange at the end? I want to try henna but a little apprehensive. thx!
@sistaheart1 I have the details posted on my blog, the blog will always have more details than YT. My scalp probably looked orange from the henna and the manipulation during the process. The more I manipulate my hair the more the blood flows to my scalp and it tends to look redder.
I previously used henna in my hair and was using lemon juice or ACV to activate the henna. My hair would end up with a looser texture and hard. I would deep condition it and it would still take a couple weeks to bounce back. I have grey hair and used henna to cover them. So, my question is this: Did you JUST use the tea to activate the henna or was there anything else you added? I saw the picture but didn't see a product list...Thanks and your hair is beautiful! :)))
@GranolaHeads2010 I used the tea to mainly help with shedding and to also keep the color dark. Previously henna made my hair a bright reddish color and since I have to go to work I didn't want it to come out to crazy in color. I've never used lemon juice or ACV in my henna mix because I have used ACV before (in a rinse) and it made my hair hard and my scalp itch.
Henna conditions the hair and mimics a protein to make it stronger. The henna actually made my hair lighter, it's a dark brown shade when I am in bright light.
That is the way I love to do things "simple and to the point" so far that mind-set has been working well for my hair. I thought it would take me a year to reach BSL....I made it in 10mos!
I'm so excited that you've started making more videos! I've always admired your style on the CN forum, so it's so cool to see your tutorials because I just love the way you care for your hair. Actually, watching your last tut was how I found out that you make jewelry, too! Can't wait to get my earrings in the mail! :-)

Have you ever done henna on over hair that has already been chemically colored? I am thinking about using henna instead of store bought color.

What does the Henna do for your hair? Also, does it make your hair darker?
