This vid was pretty cool. But as an intro, I have to say; not a great idea. It would be better as like a 'commercial' for the mod instead. ;-)

And I also don't get how the Breen, Cardassians and Dominion are all separate races? Was this in a older/newer version? I'm asking b/c the version I play their all under one. I suppose the way that could be true is just to build fleets with just that races vessels. But the Breen are really weak. Like 2 classes and no Capitals.

They already have a demo out which will probably blow your standard out of the water, considering you're willing to bash on people who actually have tallent.

a story line would be great is there was a campaign its a mod for a game thats completely skirmish based. also if the modders are making it for themselves it defeats the point of modding (which is ment to be comunity based). lastly, jono, your the one coming off as a jerk.

I am sorry that you feel that way, after all the work that people have been puting into this, hearing comments like "I'm willing to lower my standard" is really uncalled for and hurtful. I appologize that you were offended, but it is difficult to watch someone bash a project that has had a ton of work put into it.

Also, the primary modder started this as a self-project, he didn't have the intention to release it until his idea was leaked and pressure was put on him, then he made it public.

The final intro (once I get my PC running again) will be mostly in-game footage. This was just a race intro, which in retrospect probably should have been named as such. :-)

FYI People. This is a modification of the game Sins of a Solar Empire. Therefore, out of respect to the creators of the game, and to inform people of the game engine used, it has "Sins of a Solar Empire" in the title.

If you don't like it, file a complaint with the mod creators.

Since this is MY mod. I felt that the TNG borg were too much of an IMBA game breaker, and the Voyager borg were too retarded, nerfed, and boring to include them. Voyager itself was retarded, and boring. Enterprise was too. Dont like the no borg policy dont play the mod. It doesnt matter to me, because we are making this mod for US. Not you.

Species 8472 is what you are thinking about. The Borg were unable to adapt to them because they would get their butts handed to them to quickly to be able to assimilate or analyize them.

yes your right about the name however they possesed a highly agressive immunity system that could resiste the nanites used by the borg to assimilate. Also they used Organic tech that the borg simply could not adapt to.

Umm no offense or anything but you should probably not include any footage from the TVs or movies if you want this to be the "official" opening. Make it all custom content, like ingame footage of the final version (no sins IP in it)

The MOD is being made in the Dominion Wars era, more or less following the DS9 story-line. During DS9, the Borg were not an issue.

Don't get technical on me here, I know ST: First Contact was during the DS9 era, and I know the first episode of DS9 had the Borg in it. It is the creator of this MOD's decision to leave out the Borg and focus on the Dominion War itself. With a little more freedom to change the outcome of the war.
