These protestors had placards declaring that the soldiers were baby killers and the like. These protestors had placards declaring that the soldiers were baby killers and the like. Thanks for the comments! I found the protesters comments offensive because this was a day for the home coming troops and calling them 'baby killers' IS offensive. But just because I may find something offensive, doesn't give me the right ban it. My main gripe is how when the opposing view is made and Islam is criticised, all hell breaks lose and violence is the response. The protest against an unnecessary, illegal war should have been aimed at the organ grinder (The Government) not the monkeys.

The guy needs to do some research girt wilders lied about Islam and the teachings. But these protestors spoke the truth. And also what is sick is that the British support these brit troops who support the american terrorists in Iraq who have killed over 700,000 innocent Iraqies. And about freedom of speech in dis country is hypocrisy, the PM condemned da protest 1 Muslims 2 years back just for saying "down dow denmark" he got 4 years. Geert Wilders was not lying. He was giving an opinion. I can say that Islam is not a peaceful ideology. You may well disagree but, that does nor make me a liar. The "down, dow denmark" comment is wrong. The protesters who were arrested and convicted were inciting violence by calling for the murder of anyone who dared speak out against their religion. Islam, like all religonsis an out dated unnecessary divisive and dangerous virus that contaminates and destroys rational human ideals.

I hardly think you can compare these two events. A protest occuring within a country, and a questionable person wanting to enter it are completely different. Personally I don't see why this protest was so offensive, those soldiers took part in an illegal war which lead to the death of countless civilians! I was more offended by the angry mob who were throwing bacon at the muslims and trying to attack them. Who knows what would have happened if the police weren't there.

I think it's perfectly ligitimate to compare the two. Geert Wilders is only 'questionable' in your opinion. I reseached him and found nothing racist or bigoted in what he says. He is strongly anti-Islamic but that is a perfectly reasonable position to take. He was refused entry by the home secretary even though he had been invited here by the upper house of Parliament. The protesters have as much right to express their opinions but it should cut both ways and that's my point!

Don't get me wrong i don't agree with the war either. however, how we're they to know that they will be sent to iraq. many of these people were in the armed forces way before all this flared up. And many themselfs do not agree with the war. As for your remark about the london bombings. I sincerely hope the bombings to your mind aren't justified. war or not thats an extremist mind set to carry out that kind of terror, and even so should't it of been aimed at the goverment and not innocent people.

I would never suggest that the bombings were justified, attacking civilians is a cowardly act of evil that can never be justified. However you have to look at what makes people become extremists in the first place, it is far too easy to say it is just their religion you have to take the political background into account. Otherwise we are in danger of branding anybody who critises our system as an extremist, which is great news for a government that wants to supress any viewpoints it feels threatened by.

Well I am not religious, and I have absolutely no time for religious fundamentalism of any kind; some of the things fanatical Muslims come out with are certainly cause for concern. But I believe the media hugely exaggerates the proportion of Muslims who are extremist. They are the ones making it hard to tell the difference between extremists and non-extremists. If you want to get a non-biased idea of what British Muslims believe then why not read some of their blogs...

I'v only ever came across one half-sane muslim, its like 1/100,000,000 are sane And as for the *non-biased idea of what British Muslims believe then why not read their blogs*. i'd rather not. My point about atheism is directly quoted from someone talking to me about atheism. I have nothing against atheism, it's prefectly rational. I hate that it is used as a flag for people to shit on other people's faiths.
Also, there's about 2.5 billion Muslims, but I digress. It's a rough figure. I'd say you have the same amount of extremist Catholics (or anyone else), but it's in vogue at the moment to hate Islam.

The crusades were actually started by a group of mulsim imams leading attacks against Christian communities in Byzantinium. The imams even stated their goal was to wipe out Christianity in the holy land. This prompted the leader of the Greek Orthodox church to travel to Rome to ask the aid of Pope Pius int he early 1100's. For some reason the fact that this war was propogated by muslims against Christians is not taught anymore, which is an unfortunate twist on the truth..
