My first line of defense is my two Kuvasz guard dogs--they HUGELY deter any such entry. Make it damn near impossible. If they alert me to an intruder, I will first quickly assess the situation. If it is potentially dangerous, I am not confronting him/them unarmed. Hand to hand would be the last desperate option.
If I heard noises downstairs in the middle of the night I don't think I would just stroll down and turn on the light. The intruder would certainly hear me approaching (creaking stairs). Instead I would grab either my 357 or 9mm, call 911, and wait at the top of the stairs in ambush in case the intruder decided to come upstairs. At that point he would be killed without notice (and yes I would make certain it wasn't a family member before shooting).
Muy bueno, el video, varias posibilidades de combate en interiores. about deaills like call police, logistic, distance, gun, laws, etc. you've said at the beginning of the videoat : you only show the tecnic of figth into your home.
Great video's but in this case just use your Glock.. 2 to the head 3 in chest...They will never rob anybody again...And there's only one story when the police get there.
@chaskins6 what? Pay attention. I said unarmed defense is last ditch and statistically a bad idea. If you are going to confront an intruder you'd best be armed and trained it its use if you are taking your defense seriously.
I'm all for learning how to protect one's self with hand to hand combat but if someone breaks into my home. They will die from lead poisoning real fast. I do look forward learning more about krav maga. Thanks for the videos.
@jmvmike absoultely. Krav maga is a wonderful combatives system, but it doesnt take the place singularly of a trained armed response. THe US has seen a "watering down" if you will of Krav to placate to fitness based training and soocer moms. A REAL defensive tactics application will teach primarily an armed resonse. Firearms training and use is paramount for real world defensive tactics
This is the opposite of practical, this is based on someone's paranoid nightmare, not on reality. Best thing is exactly as below, lock yourself and family somewhere, leave the house, call the police, don't freaking FIGHT the criminal. Oh, yeah, it will also probably NEVER happen to you!
I agree with the gun defense, and run drills to speed up my reaction time thus, however, I also run drills without them, so the value of this video is completely valid! Thank you for posting!
I agree, in Israel the laws of engagement are ridiculous even to nighttime intruders. You can be thrown in jail if you "defend" your home with a 12 gauge, and the attack gets injured. This video demonstrates the reaction to an unarmed attacker, but yeah the most practical defense would be to scare the shit out of him with a 12 gauge shotgun.
@howtokravmaga Dont get me wrong I am not being critical of your krav maga skills, just your tactics when armed encounter is likely. Too much Krav maga in the US is geared for soccer moms and fitness gurus rather than for real world defensive tactics. Everything in Krav is functional, no doubt, BUT without training in an armed component there is a big piece of the puzzle missing. Krav maga is a military combatives system. Militaries don't fight unarmed. Unarmed defense is a bridge and last ditch
@howtokravmaga Wow in the U.S. if you kill the attacker there is a chance your get out of jail free card was defending your home from an robber that could possible harm other people.
I agree. I'm no gun nut but even in NRA basic training you get your gun and retreat safely to a defenseable position and call 911. If they/him starts entering your position in spite of your warning, shoot him. At first that sounds ridiculous but it makes sense. Unarmed would be the same. I don't want come upon someone who might have a weapon, even if I had Krav Maga skills. I'd rather let him have my stereo and live to fight another day.
Good skills, direct instinctive and no nonsense -but in this particular situation you DEFINATELY need to arm yourself -even just a hand to hand weapon
the robber punch like a lady... lol it's doesn't look realistic to me? but good technique though. If u ask me my first strike should be at the groin then to the neck then into the eyes. I don't know what would i do next? may be i will slam him to the TV wahehehehhe. peace... krav maga lot of respect to this guys... osu!
This is quite a good demonstration but some gusto from the actors and a bit more quality fighting from the crook would be better. Remember train as if they are a really good fighter because its the worst case scenario.
Doing a demonstration is good but different aspects such as knife, gun, obstacle, hostage all show the psychological aspects of Krav that most should learn. Great job and i have told people at my Krav Maga to check out this channel and see what they have to offer. Thanks.
In the situation demonstrated here, the attacker was unarmed. You are meant to react to the attacker as if he is armed. You do not wait for him to attack. You attack with full force. If you see that he takes out a knife, create distance with a kick, then either prepare for his knife stab or get out of the room.
If you see that he takes out a gun, than don't create distance. You have to be very very careful if this happens. You must calm down the attacker, then either attempt a gun disarm, or verbally deescalate the situation, give the attacker what he wants its not worth risking your life over.
@howtokravmaga Great advice. Only thing i would add is. If you are not in front of the gun it is useless. Have not checked out your other vids yet, so not sure if you have any on gun disarms.
@howtokravmaga or you close the gap and get shot or stabbed. That mentality is mostly unreal hollywood training. Gun disarm defenses are for last ditch applications. You are referencing a home invasion burglery not an assault. The invader is likely to be non rational and already prepared (at least mentally) to confront at some level. If he is armed it is quite possible that he will use lethal force to prevent incarceration.
My point was you are demonstrating an unarmed defense against an unprevoked attack when in reality you initiated contact unarmed against a very likely armed threat when you had the option of not engaging. If you are going to engage then doing it unarmed defies logic. If Krav Maga is about surviving using proven tactics, and you intend to engage then armed training and application must be part of your tactics.
@MRjesseNL unarmed self-defense is flawed by its very notion. That is why you dont confront an intruder unarmed PERIOD. IF you are attacked then you do what you have to do, but clearing your home unarmed is a really bad idea. Unarmed defense should be a bridge to a weapon platform. I teach Krav as well, but I don't teach to willingly engage unarmed. Unarmed defense is a last ditch no way out option. Violence of action and superior tactics. It's about winning, not about fair.
@HYBRIDCOMBATIVES Lol, I have almost 13 years of Okinawan Goju Ryu currently under my belt and I definitely know I can handle myself against some thug, but that doesn't mean I don't carry 2 knives with me at all times just in case. People need to learn that learning any form of hand-to-hand combat is not going to save you ALL the time and higher measures should definitely be taken. Especially in the case of a home intrusion.
@HairofSteel555 yup. H2H is dangerously ineffective against real violence where severe harm and or death is the goal. Warfare is not conducted unarmed for a reason. Training to go into harm's way unarmed (as a preferred choice) is nonsense. I haven't heard of a home invasion yet where the offender is wearing boxing gloves and a tap-out shirt.

yes, because attackers in your house won't ever kick or use a 1-2 combo EVAR. I need to go to Israel. I'd be a way better robber than this guy.
