Having watched this for the first time since the first time I saw it in the 80's I kinda feel like something's missing, literally. In the early parts of the movie it feels like we missed something, like crutial scenes were edited out. Otherwise an entertaining film, reminds me of The Blob in a way.

Back than people had to be very creative with movies they couldn't just cgi in thing they had to come up with hand made set and clever effects to go with it, they also had to find great actors to go with it, most of these movies were made on low budgets and would be considered b movies by todays standards

Honestly, it wasn't that bad. I kind of liked it. The idea of such a thing happening, of a new product to spring up with adverse effects on the mental state of people and animals that were left unstudied, seems more realistic than most of the jump scare, sci-fi, fantasy stuff in the horror of today, even if it was a little lax on the gore and violence for my palate.

Return of the living dead. The blob, the thing. They were funny AND horror.
