I was born in Walsall and lived there for 13 years, lost the accent now really because I had to adapt to Shropshire but it does come back when I visit everyone haha.
I like this. . . I was born in Walsall and lived in Darlaston until I was 20( I think :-D ). I then moved to Walsall and lived very close to the town centre. If you don't know Darlaston is a small town in the borough of Walsall within the Blackcountry. I've been living in Birmingham for 8 years now. I've been working on toning down my Blackcountry accent for some time now because I get tired of repeating my self. I think the Blackcountry accent is fun and funny.
That man in the black batmon Tshirt...im not gonna lie, Im american and i couldnt understand more than 10% of what he said. I heard. Ligachinsimonbugabooles.
My medieval lecturer says that the black country accent is very similar to the way in which Old English was spoken by common people. I'm proud of my heritage . I like to have a conversation with my mates in Black Country :)
