  • IS this a nausica song? I know I've heard it before! ><

  • @Crazypreeteens No it's from Princess Mononoke :)

  • @6darkthorn9 Oooh! I knew it sounded so familiar! XD Thank you!~ I never wanted to watch that movie cause it still creeps me out to this day XD

  • SHE'S BRITISH!?!? O.e

  • it makes me cry we i hear this

  • 良い声!

  • i like this fan-made Prima picture the best

i dont see why people dont think this one matches her voice, i think its perfect

and the person who made this design is the greatest :D

  • @xXAriaStarXx People don't think this design matches her voice because her voice is... Well, she has the voice of an opera singer, and the design is a teen girl '-'

Teen girls =/= opera singers ^^'

  • @LeticiaSama but my voice can go as low as prima and im 14 XD

  • @xXAriaStarXx

    WOW o_o'

That's amazing... Well, going back to Prima, I wanted to say that most teen girls don't like opera, sorry ^^"

  • @LeticiaSama

most teen girls don't like opera, i totally agree with you on that but im probably one of the only few, so no need for apologies *puts sunglasses on* its all good in the neighborhood! BD

  • @LeticiaSama I'm a teen and I like opera also!

I'm the highest in my operatics society which is full of middle aged - elderly people.Soprano - high c

And I've never had any training.XD Who knows what training in the next few years will take me.

  • @xXAriaStarXx It's not about lowness,it's about highness.

  • Better than Tonio.

People need to use Prima right like this.

  • Wow. I had no idea Prima even existed, and let me tell you, she's now one of my favorite Vocaloids. I'm going on a quest to listen to all of them, dang it, apparently I've been missing out on dozens of 'Loids.

  • If any song was made for her voice pitch, it was this one. :3

  • I Think The Design of Just Her Face Is Fitted In With The Voice

  • Comment removed

  • That tune sounds familiar reminds me of Spirited Away

  • @padawanSarahTano That's because it's from Princesss Mononoke, and the music is done by the same guy in most Miyazaki movies. :3

  • @GhostiVanille Ahh! I knew it was from one of those Miyazaki movies! I love Princesss Mononoke! Aggg I can't belive I missed that! :)

  • @GhostiVanille Yoshikazu Mera only performed the one song for Princess Mononoke. Studio Ghibli utilizes many vocalists for their movies, such as Azumi Inoue who sang the songs for My Neighbor Totoro and Castle in the Sky, and Youmi Kimura, who sang Itsumo nando demo for Spirited Away. Most artists only performed for one movie.

  • @Maethirion Um, I wasn't referring to the vocals, I was referring to Joe Hisaishi.

  • @GhostiVanille

Then you would be correct. I love that composer.

  • Shes cute! O: and what a pretty voice

  • Oh my goddess this is so good O.O

  • Prima looks like a child dressed up as a ballerina here. :|

  • In all honestly, her voice does not fit her charecter design. Her design makes me think "Kawaii-desu-cutesy-channn!~" or some shit like that. xD

  • @NightmareTeddie This isn't even an official design; It's some OMEGAKAWAIIDESUDESU design someone drew for her, likely because they thought "OMG Vocaloids have to be moe moe little lolis, let me draw this professional opera singer as one lololol."

Her actual boxart, however, is an elegant-looking photograph of a grown Western woman.

  • @DragonitePrincess Ah, I gotcha. They shouldn't have done so. I looked up the official Boxart. She is so lovely on it.

  • @DragonitePrincess I like both versions.

  • @DragonitePrincess

It's not the design that makes her look like that, though. The design is fine - in fact, it's lovely and fitting. If you want to complain about something as silly as that, just change the style of the drawing. It doesn't help that probably over half of the artists on the internet draw in an anime/manga style in the first place.

  • Yes! Finally a song that is good for Prima

  • how beautiful!!!!!!! TT^TT she is not ulgy!

  • The WORST part is right after 3:47

  • Working with Prima is kinda hard though, because of the fact her voice is operatic. But when created in just the right way, like this, her voice catches the heart <3

  • someone should get her to sing gunslinger girl ending (i think its the first 1)

  • is this that song from mononoke hime? it's... beautiful!

THE BEST SONG PRIMA'S EVER DONE!!!

  • Princess Mononoke? ....lovely... this is so beautiful.

  • holy fuck! Prima can sing pretty!!! i love this song now O_O

    THAAAANK YOOOOU

  • I can listen to this endless times.. its so beautiful..... shes my favorite english-vocaloid cause shes a little bit different from the others.. :)

  • <3 this! X3

  • This is the ending to Princess Mononoke! OMG!

  • I sort of want to know what this song is called o-o;;

  • ITs the kind of song Prima was intended for, and after hearing several versions, from even the Japanese ones, Prima is hitting it the best.

  • Does anyone know where I could finda version the piano in the background on youtube? It's beautiful.

  • shes so cute :)

  • can someone PLEASE tell me the name of the song and what artist originally sings it???

  • @sadako07 princess mononoke :3

  • @sadako07 oh and originally done by Yoshikazu Mera

  • Some one needs to make her sing Phantom of the Opera

  • @bananamonkey033 actually the first vocaloids were english(Leon and Lola), but the japanese ones became more popular, especially because of Miku

    you can wiki it xD

  • @TheHappyWaterbug liessss D8 well the english ones suck

  • @bananamonkey033 I've heard some awful songs from the Japanese ones, so I just view them overall as equal. Miku has one of the most annoying of the lot. Its pure baisedness to just choose one language over the other without considering both sides of the world vocaloids have their strengths and weaknesses.

  • @bananamonkey033 The English vocaloids came BEFORE the ones in Japan, duh.

  • @DeliciouslyEvil21 liessss some people met online in japan and came up with alejandroocaloid with the first one meiko and thr didnt become till vocaloid 2 came out so ha ha haha

  • @bananamonkey033 You really are in denial, in fact its so ute how bad you are in that place. But English came first, the Japanese. Even Sweet Ann, a Vocaloid 2, came 2 months or so before Miku, another V2.

  • @bananamonkey033 English is such a complex language though; while Japanese has a set number of sounds that can be produced using certain characters, English has massive range of different enunciations for certain words and sets of letters. I've not yet heard a Japaloid sing a full and comprehensible English song; I even have problems understanding Luka. Try listening to some Engloid songs from shu-t, plus Miriam's 'Blue Eyes', 'Landing to you' and 'holy', then get back to me.

  • I like Prima's operatic voice. It is so soothing.

  • Now this is the Prima I love!

  • I like prima's hair XD

its not extremely straight or down to her ankles or an artificial color O.e

although having two purpl pigtails down to about half my calves would be awesome and epic XD

  • Prima has such a pretty voice~

    <3

  • Prima sounds so beautiful. This was a song in Princess Mononoke, right?

  • Prima is my favourite British Vocaloid. :>

  • Her voice is gorgeous! I almost fell asleep at my desk. x3

  • prima is beautiful n.n ♥ it's the best :)

  • ok i have question....whats Primas official looks? o.o is it this version or the version with white hat, skirt? o.o

  • she doesn't have official art work so people just make it up what she looks like.

  • @sleepysheep7 ah i see thank you for informations :3 anyway thet voice dont suit to this looks.....it sounds much older

  • at some point i agree with you, however, think in the way Prima sings in an Opera "voice" and most people make their voices sound different when singing opera, most of the times, a lower pitch, so maybe she has a softer voice when she doesnt sing opera, or at least, thats what i do to try to match the character with the voice lol

  • anoh...

    is that really Prima?

  • Very nice programming of the Vocaloid, suble nuances and careful attention to detail.. Nice!

  • sounds very good!! really beautiful <3 but the voice doesnt fit the drawing i think XD she looks too cute with a serious voice.

  • at some point i agree, i think if they made the girl in the drawing look a bit older maybe it would fit, tough also we should consider, she sings opera, and when people sing opera (or the ones i have met) modify their real voices to sound deeper

  • FINALLY! Someone knows to drop the pitch when making songs for her!

I can't stand it when the pitch is TOO HIGH for the operatic voice.

    This is lovely!

  • OMG!!!!!!!! its that song!!! um um um, no one knows your heart from princess mononoke!!!!

    AMAZING!!!! :D

  • Been so long since ive seen that movie and i dont remember the song at all :(

I sadly i have to admit she sounds more humans than the widely known japanese vocaloids, who'd id still stick to, but i dont think this is english shes singing.

  • well um no its not but its princess mononoke's (the movie) theme

  • I liked that :)

And i didn't think she looked too young at all, i'm 13 and i can pull off a voice that makes me sound older...

  • I think the problem the english vocaloids arnt that popular is because.... :DDDD

    They're ugly.

Well, in my opinion, the original art. Like, Sweet Ann? Big Al? Would YOU want to use something called Big Al? D:

Or maybe english people arnt so interested in vocaloids as japanese :/

  • But primas outfit is beautiful. And her voice.

  • i think so, too. though there are a LOT of people out there, like me, in America that LOVE vocaloid... but i like the japanese version better mysself. :/ the english vocaloid sucks. i agree with you on that

  • The reason why many don't like the English vocaloid because the words cut off too soon and the proununciation is off. It's just something you get use to and like, or not like it at all.

  • hey guys, its just my opinion. chill. >.>

  • Everyone has their own opinion but I think they thumped you down because of the fact that you said you don't like Engloids on and Engloid video.

  • lol. yea, thats understandable. i haven't really looked at them too much, though. but it seems like they did the stereo-typic operatic voice, which kinda bothered me. and it seems like more work goes into making the japanese ones sound more human than the english ones. but thats my opinion. people can thumbs me down all they want. it doesn't bother me, since i AM technically dissing it...

  • I can't say for certain, but I'm willing to bet that modifying the voice clips for a song in Japanese is a lot easier (aside from the the letter r) than doing it for a song in English. Japanese is mostly monosyllabic and he vowels have consistent pronunciation. English is not like this.

  • @ XxWeccaxX

I am trashing your opinion, but want to state the same amount of effort goes into the English as does the Japanese. English is an extremely hard lang. to put into a synthesizer. We have long and short vowels, differing pronunciation, etc. While Japanese remains constant when it comes to sounds; thus, their words are clearer and easier to use. This is the usual reason people prefer Japanese. That and their fan based is so much larger, so more artists produce better songs.

  • i guess... but it still sounds that way to me. so the effort is still there, but it just doesn't sound so good to me, no matter how many different videos i listen to. if you'd like to recommend a good one to change my mind, that'd be great. but... lets see, how do i explain... i just don't think it sounds good. i thought since english is my first language, i'd like it, but i don't. theres something about it that just isn't at all appealing to me. i'm just giving my opinion.

  • I totally understand. Actually, it might be that fact English is your first lang. which is why you don't like them. I never knew how robotic they sounded until I listened to one trying to sing English. When they were Japanese did not notice a thing. You're are used to English spoken and this it may come off unappealing. This might not be the case, but I've seen it happen.

I reccomend Ice Field by Miriam and Existence by Lola. Both are trance/techno songs which I think use them well.

    : D

  • that actually makes perfect sense. i'll look em up

  • weeaboo?

  • what?

  • Weeaboo, I think you're a weeaboo. Please look it up, since I do not have that much space in a comment.

I just mean you only like them because they are japanese, and that is discrimination. If you were told Prima was japanese, you may did like her, and that is weeaboo behaviour. And that's...not so good.

  • um. no. even if i was told it was japanese, i wouldnt like it. theres something about the way her voice is done... i just don't like it. if i'd like something just because its japanese, or asian, then please explain why i don't like kasane teto's voice, or even MIKU! (i hate miku. well, shes okay. :/) or hell, even wasabi. why did you make it a race thing? is it because i used japanese and english? because it wasn't meant that way. :/

  • I'm said I THINK you are one. You said you liked the japanese vocaloids and that the engloids suck. How am I supposed to see it different from weeaboo behaviour? Since there are a lot of vocaloids and engloids it weird to say you do not like the other. I mean if you had sid you do not like Prima, that's fine, but saying you dislike them all. The way you pronounced it seems to be you don't like them just because they are english.

Also Teto, is Utau, and we are not talking about that.

  • ok. no offense, but idc whether she's utau or vocaloid. and sorry if i "offended" you by saying english vocaloids suck... but i''ve dipped my foot quite deep in the water and HATE how they sound. just my opinion. actually, the only one i kind of like is leon. :/

  • quite frankly, i listen to german, british, indian, lithuanian music. are you saying i'm trying to be arabian just because i like the voice? you know nothing about me. just because i like japanese vocaloid? bull shit. i listen to everything, and i simply stated that i like the japanese version better than the english one. how the hell does that make me wapanese? yea, i read manga, and if i was offered to live in japan, i'd go. but you have NO right to decide who i am, or how i act.

  • i prefer the japanese ones too :/

and i cant blame you fot this.....

    i wouldnt call you wapanese

  • thanks. :)

  • your welcome? :)

  • @ACLaugh Exactly. Because we apparenly have something better to do than put effort into the media which is the first thing the children go to for knowledge of the world. Nope, we're too busy to make sure that drug supporting "music" isn't fed to our kids daily. No way, we're too edumacated for junk like that.

  • @ACLaugh Now I would want to use something called "Big-Al". Haha. :-D

  • @ACLaugh Actually, you're right. I hate to say it, but a big part of the appeal of Hatsune Miku and the like is...the moe factor. That's why a lot of the english vocaloids aren't as liked. I think they have a lot of potential though...

  • @ACLaugh I agree, though I think most of it is that the japanese vocaloids sound so much better than the english ones. You can actually understand miku and the others, but i have a terrible time with Sweet Ann. Leon and Prima are the only ones I can understand.

  • @ACLaugh

It's not that they're ugly, is that people don't produce good work with them. I adore Sweet Ann, but people don't know how to use her voice. It's the same with any UTAU or Vocaloid. It's all up to the user.

  • @ACLaugh It's true, most Americans have no idea the computer is made for more than Microsoft word and Email.

I took great interest in Vocaloids and it's a shame to see no "perfect" english speaking vocaloid exists. But I heard from a few who speak japanese that Vocaloids have too strong of an accent and are hard to understand even to japanese ears. Failure to pronounce S's and such.

  • @kenjihimonatashi

Keep in mind that the syllables in Japanese writing are consistent. But a real person speaks lazily, so certain syllables are stressed and others are kinda... mumbled? It's hard to convey through text, but it's like saying "get him" versus "gettim." However, Vocaloids, being computerized, don't differentiate which words to stress and which to not, and the Japanese writing makes it impossible to differentiate (versus using our language, where we could simply omit letters) cont.

  • @kenjihimonatashi And English, being the ridiculous language it is, isn't consistent at ALL. It's impossible for any computerized voice to tell differences, unless we typed the words in oddly. Ex: "We're always together" to "Wayr ahlwayz toogethr." I guess an alternative would be to give the program options on how to pronounce the vowels. But that's a lot of work. Our language is always changing (new slang and such, ) so it's impossible to put every word in a program. It would take forever.

  • @Paigethedemon Very true all you said. And even though the English Vocaloids are problematic at singing, they sing Japanese better then Japanese Vocaloids sing English, or so I gather. Their potential library is very big since they have 5,000+ soundfiles (Vs 1,000+ files for Japanese) to cover the English language. They are the more extensive, pricey to make and longest to record of the two languages. Theres Luka, but Luka has problems unique to her and her only due to be able to do both.

  • @Paigethedemon It all depends on so many factors, the English language is just so complex. Ironically, I admit the most realistic Big Al song I ever heard was singing in a made-up language.

  • @ACLaugh I like Big Al's boxart :'c It's a lot better than his fanart.

  • @ACLaugh and because most people who know about vocaloids are fat weeaboos and teenage girls who think anything english is icky and can never possibly match up to those produced by the mystical island of moechildren.

  • @ACLaugh Ever considered this:Westerers are STUPID.

    Simple as that.

  • @UTAU53Yui

    ...thanks...

  • @HidanLuv You talkin to me?

Lighten up, I live in the ghettoest state in America. Jeez.

(that would be Mass. "Pahk the cah in hahvahd yahd" ever heard it?)

  • @UTAU53Yui

    lol, WI

  • @HidanLuv rednecks, lucky you lol *i don't know my states*

  • @UTAU53Yui

    um by Michigan

  • @HidanLuv Uh, I just told you I have no clue where states are XD So I dunno where Michigan is XD

  • @UTAU53Yui Not stupid, just ill-informed. They are often attracted to something first and then learn about it later. However, theres also to factor in a high level of biasedness, after they "learn" about the product some folks start being judgemental towards its kindred.

  • @ACLaugh The Japanese Vocaloids owe a lot of their popularity to Nicovideo. That site is composed of a lot of Japanese people, and there's a language barrier... so that may have something to do with it. *shrugs* Someone call me out if I'm wrong; some people tell me Nicovideo's Chinese.

  • @ACLaugh I think the original picture of Prima is beautiful... but you are right with the other vocaloids. : /

  • @ACLaugh

Shame you shut down your YT account. I was in a mood for trolling a vocaloidtard.

    Ugly?

I thought Sweet Ann and Big Al were quite original and unique.

I mean vocaloids based off of monsters? How cool is that? :D

Sweet Ann's boxart was great. I just wish people would stop turning her into MoEMoeDeSSSSUUU girl just because her boxart wasn't "cute."

Yes, I would kill for a copy of Big Al.

(He beats nasally Len Kagamine anyday.)

  • Finally someone that can use the english vocaloids so they don't sound like dishwasher. Too bad Prima and the other english vocaloids get no popularity. Only problem is this picture of her is way too young and doesn't fit the voice. She needs to look older, like Meiko.

  • 野原しんのすけ・・・何でもない

  • I wish English vocaloids got the attention and dedication that the Japanese ones have : C

I like her voice (though her avatar doesn't fit it well I think, she sounds older while this avatar makes her looks young and cute), but honestly I think any English vocaloid could do better than what is out there.

  • Prima has to be, hands-down, one of my favorite Vocaloids ever. owo I don't care that she doesn't have an official avataur.

    Prima, you still rock. =w=

  • I agree.

  • Wow, she sounds really real. She's right up there with Meiko and Luka.

  • Prima pictures but no sweet ann?

  • the melody is from prinecess mononoke isn't it

  • Yup :3

  • Yeah it is I have the soundtrack.

  • Prima is the only Vocaloid with emotion that you don't have to put into the song, I think anyway.

And why don't they make official avatars for the english Vocaloids?

  • she seems to also be the only one that can do Opera, well do it properly. to bad there is not as much stuff on her on youtub.

  • This song is on princess mononoke!

  • Isn't that Primina in the pic? o.o But well the song is really great ^^.

  • this make me cry T-T

I already cried when she started the 1st part of her song T-T

    EPIC....

  • i never heard about Prima

  • its because your a Japanese fan person.

    Prima is an English vocolaid

so your probably not going to hear much of her. tho i really think she is beautiful

but since she is not Japanese, so your not going to see her that much

but she seems to sing Japanese pretty good.

thats the top with English vocolid, if you mix the words to gather (to make it sound differt) you can make them sing almost any language

  • OMG PRIMA LOOKS SO PREETY IN THIS PIC :D

  • This is the best one with Prima that I've found. She needs to sing high, obviously... But what did I expect, her voice is an opera singers after all.

  • it would be really better if her voice was higher ur right about that but i still like this voice its very soothing :3

  • wow that kinda threw me off by seeing a girl that looks realy young and when she sang her voice was realy deep.

  • i cant find picture of this new vocaloid =(she is pretty

  • search word piapro,mameshiba.

    他にも有ると思います。

  • Er... She's not new, she's one of the older Vocaloids. Prima, an English Vocaloid with Leon and Sweet Ann. I think Big Al is in that category too.

  • No, Prima is actually Vocaloid 2.

  • I think Sweet Ann is also Vocaloid 2. At least, her song 'You Needed Me' sounds like it was made with Vocaloid 2. I'm not sure though.

  • yes she is a vocaloid 2

  • The only vocaloid 1s (in English, that is) are Leon, Lola, and Miriam.

The new vocaloid 2s are Big Al, Prima, and Sweet Ann.

  • and now sonika (; x

  • im gonna make her sing with swet ann... and maybe.. just maybe... ill do a SuPER bust the border move and make he sing with miku..

  • sounds like somebody can actually sing like that in real life. ^.^

  • It's because they don't edit the English Vocaloids' voices to sound futuristic.

  • Someone should make her sing Lillium.

  • I'm surprised that it hasn't been attempted. I've seen ones by the Japanese Vocaloids, but it's strange that a song most suited for her hasn't been done yet.

  • @SarronTan I agree, why has no one done this yet??

  • @SarronTan She'd have a great lillium voice, Lola may even too. The deeper more echoing voices like those are best for Lillium

  • @SarronTan that would be nice o,o

  • pretty voice... ^-^

  • Her nose looks like Michael Jacksons's. o__O

    She sings good, though. ^__^

  • is that how she looks like? she's pretty ^^ although i must say, her chibi look doesn't really match her voice.

i like the voice, though. it's beautiful.
