Wow. I had no idea Prima even existed, and let me tell you, she's now one of my favorite Vocaloids. I'm going on a quest to listen to all of them, dang it, apparently I've been missing out on dozens of 'Loids.

@NightmareTeddie This isn't even an official design; It's some OMEGAKAWAIIDESUDESU design someone drew for her, likely because they thought "OMG Vocaloids have to be moe moe little lolis, let me draw this professional opera singer as one lololol."
Her actual boxart, however, is an elegant-looking photograph of a grown Western woman.
It's not the design that makes her look like that, though. The design is fine - in fact, it's lovely and fitting. If you want to complain about something as silly as that, just change the style of the drawing. It doesn't help that probably over half of the artists on the internet draw in an anime/manga style in the first place.
Working with Prima is kinda hard though, because of the fact her voice is operatic. But when created in just the right way, like this, her voice catches the heart <3
@bananamonkey033 I've heard some awful songs from the Japanese ones, so I just view them overall as equal. Miku has one of the most annoying of the lot. Its pure baisedness to just choose one language over the other without considering both sides of the world vocaloids have their strengths and weaknesses.
@DeliciouslyEvil21 liessss some people met online in japan and came up with alejandroocaloid with the first one meiko and thr didnt become till vocaloid 2 came out so ha ha haha
@bananamonkey033 You really are in denial, in fact its so ute how bad you are in that place. But English came first, the Japanese. Even Sweet Ann, a Vocaloid 2, came 2 months or so before Miku, another V2.
@bananamonkey033 English is such a complex language though; while Japanese has a set number of sounds that can be produced using certain characters, English has massive range of different enunciations for certain words and sets of letters. I've not yet heard a Japaloid sing a full and comprehensible English song; I even have problems understanding Luka. Try listening to some Engloid songs from shu-t, plus Miriam's 'Blue Eyes', 'Landing to you' and 'holy', then get back to me.
at some point i agree with you, however, think in the way Prima sings in an Opera "voice" and most people make their voices sound different when singing opera, most of the times, a lower pitch, so maybe she has a softer voice when she doesnt sing opera, or at least, thats what i do to try to match the character with the voice lol

I never knew how robotic they sounded until I listened to one trying to sing English. When they were Japanese did not notice a thing. You're are used to English spoken and this it may come off unappealing. This might not be the case, but I've seen it happen.

Weeaboo, I think you're a weeaboo. Please look it up, since I do not have that much space in a comment.
I just mean you only like them because they are japanese, and that is discrimination. If you were told Prima was japanese, you may did like her, and that is weeaboo behaviour. And that's...not so good.
um. no. even if i was told it was japanese, i wouldnt like it. theres something about the way her voice is done... i just don't like it. if i'd like something just because its japanese, or asian, then please explain why i don't like kasane teto's voice, or even MIKU! (i hate miku. well, shes okay. :/) or hell, even wasabi. why did you make it a race thing? is it because i used japanese and english? because it wasn't meant that way. :/
I'm said I THINK you are one. You said you liked the japanese vocaloids and that the engloids suck. How am I supposed to see it different from weeaboo behaviour? Since there are a lot of vocaloids and engloids it weird to say you do not like the other. I mean if you had sid you do not like Prima, that's fine, but saying you dislike them all. The way you pronounced it seems to be you don't like them just because they are english.
Also Teto, is Utau, and we are not talking about that.
ok. no offense, but idc whether she's utau or vocaloid. and sorry if i "offended" you by saying english vocaloids suck... but i''ve dipped my foot quite deep in the water and HATE how they sound. just my opinion. actually, the only one i kind of like is leon. :/
quite frankly, i listen to german, british, indian, lithuanian music. are you saying i'm trying to be arabian just because i like the voice? you know nothing about me. just because i like japanese vocaloid? bull shit. i listen to everything, and i simply stated that i like the japanese version better than the english one. how the hell does that make me wapanese? yea, i read manga, and if i was offered to live in japan, i'd go. but you have NO right to decide who i am, or how i act.
@ACLaugh Exactly. Because we apparenly have something better to do than put effort into the media which is the first thing the children go to for knowledge of the world. Nope, we're too busy to make sure that drug supporting "music" isn't fed to our kids daily. No way, we're too edumacated for junk like that.
@ACLaugh Actually, you're right. I hate to say it, but a big part of the appeal of Hatsune Miku and the like is...the moe factor. That's why a lot of the english vocaloids aren't as liked. I think they have a lot of potential though...
@ACLaugh I agree, though I think most of it is that the japanese vocaloids sound so much better than the english ones. You can actually understand miku and the others, but i have a terrible time with Sweet Ann. Leon and Prima are the only ones I can understand.
It's not that they're ugly, is that people don't produce good work with them. I adore Sweet Ann, but people don't know how to use her voice. It's the same with any UTAU or Vocaloid. It's all up to the user.
@ACLaugh It's true, most Americans have no idea the computer is made for more than Microsoft word and Email.
I took great interest in Vocaloids and it's a shame to see no "perfect" english speaking vocaloid exists. But I heard from a few who speak japanese that Vocaloids have too strong of an accent and are hard to understand even to japanese ears. Failure to pronounce S's and such.
Keep in mind that the syllables in Japanese writing are consistent. But a real person speaks lazily, so certain syllables are stressed and others are kinda... mumbled? It's hard to convey through text, but it's like saying "get him" versus "gettim." However, Vocaloids, being computerized, don't differentiate which words to stress and which to not, and the Japanese writing makes it impossible to differentiate (versus using our language, where we could simply omit letters) cont.
@kenjihimonatashi And English, being the ridiculous language it is, isn't consistent at ALL. It's impossible for any computerized voice to tell differences, unless we typed the words in oddly. Ex: "We're always together" to "Wayr ahlwayz toogethr." I guess an alternative would be to give the program options on how to pronounce the vowels. But that's a lot of work. Our language is always changing (new slang and such, ) so it's impossible to put every word in a program. It would take forever.
@Paigethedemon Very true all you said. And even though the English Vocaloids are problematic at singing, they sing Japanese better then Japanese Vocaloids sing English, or so I gather. Their potential library is very big since they have 5,000+ soundfiles (Vs 1,000+ files for Japanese) to cover the English language. They are the more extensive, pricey to make and longest to record of the two languages. Theres Luka, but Luka has problems unique to her and her only due to be able to do both.
@Paigethedemon It all depends on so many factors, the English language is just so complex. Ironically, I admit the most realistic Big Al song I ever heard was singing in a made-up language.
@ACLaugh and because most people who know about vocaloids are fat weeaboos and teenage girls who think anything english is icky and can never possibly match up to those produced by the mystical island of moechildren.
@UTAU53Yui Not stupid, just ill-informed. They are often attracted to something first and then learn about it later. However, theres also to factor in a high level of biasedness, after they "learn" about the product some folks start being judgemental towards its kindred.
@ACLaugh The Japanese Vocaloids owe a lot of their popularity to Nicovideo. That site is composed of a lot of Japanese people, and there's a language barrier... so that may have something to do with it. *shrugs* Someone call me out if I'm wrong; some people tell me Nicovideo's Chinese.
Finally someone that can use the english vocaloids so they don't sound like dishwasher. Too bad Prima and the other english vocaloids get no popularity. Only problem is this picture of her is way too young and doesn't fit the voice. She needs to look older, like Meiko.
I wish English vocaloids got the attention and dedication that the Japanese ones have : C
I like her voice (though her avatar doesn't fit it well I think, she sounds older while this avatar makes her looks young and cute), but honestly I think any English vocaloid could do better than what is out there.
I'm surprised that it hasn't been attempted. I've seen ones by the Japanese Vocaloids, but it's strange that a song most suited for her hasn't been done yet.
IS this a nausica song? I know I've heard it before! ><

Nope, we're too busy to make sure that drug supporting "music" isn't fed to our kids daily. No way, we're too edumacated for junk like that.
UTAU53Yui 1 year ago
@ACLaugh Now I would want to use something called "Big-Al". Haha. :-D
AngelEmfrbl 1 year ago
@ACLaugh Actually, you're right. I hate to say it, but a big part of the appeal of Hatsune Miku and the like is...the moe factor. That's why a lot of the english vocaloids aren't as liked. I think they have a lot of potential though...
Insaniloids 1 year ago
@ACLaugh I agree, though I think most of it is that the japanese vocaloids sound so much better than the english ones. You can actually understand miku and the others, but i have a terrible time with Sweet Ann. Leon and Prima are the only ones I can understand.
TheLegendofJessica 1 year ago
@ACLaugh
It's not that they're ugly, is that people don't produce good work with them. I adore Sweet Ann, but people don't know how to use her voice. It's the same with any UTAU or Vocaloid. It's all up to the user.
CelsiusSnowe 1 year ago
@ACLaugh It's true, most Americans have no idea the computer is made for more than Microsoft word and Email.
I took great interest in Vocaloids and it's a shame to see no "perfect" english speaking vocaloid exists. But I heard from a few who speak japanese that Vocaloids have too strong of an accent and are hard to understand even to japanese ears. Failure to pronounce S's and such.
kenjihimonatashi 1 year ago
@kenjihimonatashi
Paigethedemon 1 year ago
@kenjihimonatashi And English, being the ridiculous language it is, isn't consistent at ALL. It's impossible for any computerized voice to tell differences, unless we typed the words in oddly. Ex: "We're always together" to "Wayr ahlwayz toogethr." I guess an alternative would be to give the program options on how to pronounce the vowels. But that's a lot of work. Our language is always changing (new slang and such, ) so it's impossible to put every word in a program. It would take forever.
Paigethedemon 1 year ago
@Paigethedemon Very true all you said. And even though the English Vocaloids are problematic at singing, they sing Japanese better then Japanese Vocaloids sing English, or so I gather. Their potential library is very big since they have 5,000+ soundfiles (Vs 1,000+ files for Japanese) to cover the English language. They are the more extensive, pricey to make and longest to record of the two languages. Theres Luka, but Luka has problems unique to her and her only due to be able to do both.
AngelEmfrbl 1 year ago
@Paigethedemon It all depends on so many factors, the English language is just so complex. Ironically, I admit the most realistic Big Al song I ever heard was singing in a made-up language.
AngelEmfrbl 1 year ago
@ACLaugh I like Big Al's boxart :'c It's a lot better than his fanart.
SilentSheikah 1 year ago
@ACLaugh and because most people who know about vocaloids are fat weeaboos and teenage girls who think anything english is icky and can never possibly match up to those produced by the mystical island of moechildren.

@UTAU53Yui Not stupid, just ill-informed. They are often attracted to something first and then learn about it later. However, theres also to factor in a high level of biasedness, after they "learn" about the product some folks start being judgemental towards its kindred.
AngelEmfrbl 1 year ago 3
@ACLaugh The Japanese Vocaloids owe a lot of their popularity to Nicovideo. That site is composed of a lot of Japanese people, and there's a language barrier... so that may have something to do with it. *shrugs* Someone call me out if I'm wrong; some people tell me Nicovideo's Chinese.

@ACLaugh I think the original picture of Prima is beautiful... but you are right with the other vocaloids. : /

@ACLaugh
Shame you shut down your YT account. I was in a mood for trolling a vocaloidtard.
Ugly?
I thought Sweet Ann and Big Al were quite original and unique.
I mean vocaloids based off of monsters? How cool is that? :D
Sweet Ann's boxart was great. I just wish people would stop turning her into MoEMoeDeSSSSUUU girl just because her boxart wasn't "cute."
Yes, I would kill for a copy of Big Al.
(He beats nasally Len Kagamine anyday.)
TheBouncyButton 1 year ago
Finally someone that can use the english vocaloids so they don't sound like dishwasher. Too bad Prima and the other english vocaloids get no popularity. Only problem is this picture of her is way too young and doesn't fit the voice. She needs to look older, like Meiko.

I wish English vocaloids got the attention and dedication that the Japanese ones have : C
I like her voice (though her avatar doesn't fit it well I think, she sounds older while this avatar makes her looks young and cute), but honestly I think any English vocaloid could do better than what is out there.
AnimeEyes143 2 years ago 3
Prima has to be, hands-down, one of my favorite Vocaloids ever. owo I don't care that she doesn't have an official avataur.
Prima, you still rock. =w=

Prima is the only Vocaloid with emotion that you don't have to put into the song, I think anyway.
And why don't they make official avatars for the english Vocaloids?
Tyetyez 2 years ago 3
she seems to also be the only one that can do Opera, well do it properly. to bad there is not as much stuff on her on youtub.

i never heard about Prima
hvhvhvhvhvhv13131313 2 years ago
its because your a Japanese fan person.
Prima is an English vocolaid
so your probably not going to hear much of her. tho i really think she is beautiful
but since she is not Japanese, so your not going to see her that much
but she seems to sing Japanese pretty good.
thats the top with English vocolid, if you mix the words to gather (to make it sound differt) you can make them sing almost any language
Nanodesuwanderland 2 years ago 7
OMG PRIMA LOOKS SO PREETY IN THIS PIC :D
NyanKitty01Kawaii 2 years ago
This is the best one with Prima that I've found. She needs to sing high, obviously... But what did I expect, her voice is an opera singers after all.
Dsintars 2 years ago
it would be really better if her voice was higher ur right about that but i still like this voice its very soothing :3
NyanKitty01Kawaii 2 years ago
wow that kinda threw me off by seeing a girl that looks realy young and when she sang her voice was realy deep.

Er... She's not new, she's one of the older Vocaloids. Prima, an English Vocaloid with Leon and Sweet Ann. I think Big Al is in that category too.
Hinatasama15 2 years ago 2
No, Prima is actually Vocaloid 2.
3Dmidori 2 years ago 4
I think Sweet Ann is also Vocaloid 2. At least, her song 'You Needed Me' sounds like it was made with Vocaloid 2. I'm not sure though.
TheCuddlycactus 2 years ago
yes she is a vocaloid 2
the1withpantson 2 years ago
The only vocaloid 1s (in English, that is) are Leon, Lola, and Miriam.
The new vocaloid 2s are Big Al, Prima, and Sweet Ann.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
The voice sounds way too much like Miss Piggy. Something in it sounds too restrictive and clogged. It's not a comfortable thing to listen to.
GreeboSanders 3 years ago
sounds like somebody can actually sing like that in real life. ^.^
ATBG 3 years ago 3
It's because they don't edit the English Vocaloids' voices to sound futuristic.
Ayalikesdw4 2 years ago
Someone should make her sing Lillium.
SarronTan 3 years ago 44
I'm surprised that it hasn't been attempted. I've seen ones by the Japanese Vocaloids, but it's strange that a song most suited for her hasn't been done yet.
KumaOso16 2 years ago
@SarronTan I agree, why has no one done this yet??

@SarronTan She'd have a great lillium voice, Lola may even too. The deeper more echoing voices like those are best for Lillium
