  • my husband and i have been together since the age of 15 had our oldest at the age of 17 and now are having our 6th child we are 29 and 2 years ago we started buying an acre of land and a fixer upper they said the house was a throw in because it was so badly vandlized people looked at us like we were crazy for paying what we are but now my 12 year old daughter is singing this song in a talent show an dedicating it to us we werent so crazy after all our 1rst house ever its building all of us

  • This is my favorite song from the first time I listened to it. After 4-25-11 this song means even more to me. The tornados that hit Arkansas damaged the home my family re-built room by room. We were able to get the memorable things out before the "house that build me" fell apart. My last memory of that home was walking out the front door and hearing my mom play the piano. My parents will build a new home from the ground up and they deserve the best.

  • My family lived in Lindale went to the same church and worked with Bev in the youth department during the time they worked on the house. I loved the house it was a great old house and even though I never got to see the finished product cause we moved to Colorado I heard Bev made it a great home for her family Rick Lambert is one of thoes guys you only come across once in your life time and my husband Chris and I are glad we had that privledge. Rick Chris is going to be a cop April 15, 2011

  • Those of you bashing hayes need to grow up. What's it to you even if the story isn't true? He\she was just simply telling their story. Grow up.

  • What I say to my Son who will be a lawyer really soon....after being raised in humble beginnings......dad was an alky I went to college and worked and loved my kids so much

I would say to Miranda and my Sons...KICK LIFES ASS!!!!!!!

  • I knew this family many years ago before they lived in Lindale. In fact, Miranda was probably just 3 years old if I had to guess, and Luke was a baby. I met them at the Church of God in Van Alstyne TX. I was only about 14. They lived in a big beautiful house out in the country and were PI's at the time. For some reason the memories I have of them and their home always stuck with me. I always wondered where they had gone and of course, now I know. By the way..Ms. Beverly can sing too!

  • @hayesfam4 mmm hmm of course you knew them....

  • @TheoriginalMjj90 I'm sorry you don't believe me. I was sharing a story about a family that I knew through church who had church functions at their home who happens to now be famous. As if "famous" people weren't famous at some point and a "regular" person can't know them. Bit o trivia for ya.... They had a Nanny named Margarita at the time and she ended up pregnant and resigned being their Nanny. I know I'm telling the truth and promise you if they read this will know it too! :o)

  • @TheoriginalMjj90 lol!!! she got facts wrong to because ran and luke are five years apart not 3 when ran was 21 luke was 16 BAHAHA

  • @hayesfam4 HAHHAHAHAHA UR SUCH A LIAR BECAUSE BEV SAID LAST YEAR SHE CANT SING TO SAVE HER LIFE, RAN GOT HER SINGING FROM RICK AHAHAHAHAHAHAH

  • @FanFiction2010 I have absolutely NO reason to lie. If I actually knew who you people were, I suppose I would have a reason to lie. However, regarding the statement that Beverly "can't sing". Everyone has their own opinions about someone's voice. At 14 or 15 years old I thought she sang well.

  • @hayesfam4 to bad you are lying since ran and luke are 5 years apart

  • @FanFiction2010 She said Miranda was probably 3, so that means she could of been older.

  • I found Luke at 1:03 in a cowboy hat and at 1:38

  • Miranda Lambert deserves everything good that comes her way!!!

  • @TheNewsWire she cried fo 3 hours when blake played the song for her, she loves the song she said she cant sing it with out crying or getting emotional the song means alot to her even though she didnt write it

  • where is Luke???

  • @whaledone100 yeaaaaa wheres luuuuke

  • wow...it is incredible how much this reminds me of my family and myself as i've gone through almost the same thing. miranda...i feel you!

  • Very touching story and a beautiful song. I always like to hear the history behind songs that tear at your heart. Love the footage of her as a child. So the house in the video must be the place?

Her parents are salt of the earth types, beautiful people.

  • so sweet

  • Miranda's dad is a such sweet man I want his autograph!!

  • My dad died when i was 8 my mom married a man that turned abusive she took alot of abuse but the day he hit me was the day we left she bought an old run down house and we fixed it up and made it a home she remarried when I was 20 I bought that house from her and am now 34 and still live in it i'm putting it on the market cause it's time for me to move on I just found this song today and I have tears in my eyes cause there was a time when we had no food and we renovated it room by room.

  • I have ALWAYS respected Miranda this made me respect her more When my mom died money got right, we lost out home to the bank and moved in to a rented house wich needed alot of work. We went months living off frozen dinners we couldn't afford food we barley could afford the frozen dinners. My brother had to move home and help us out we cant afford the rent here so my brother bought me and dad a house. I try to get a job but with my health and constant surgerys its hard.

  • @BandNsoldier Now I have even MORE of a reason to look up to Miranda. Her family made it through maybe mine can to. I wish I could have my dream of being a singer come true, I wanted to be a singer for as long as I can remember I did chours for about 6 years. MIRANDA IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE MY HERO

  • yall are a stromg family and may godbless yall.. i think if more artist were like miranda .. country music would be a better place bless yall i luv miranda ur great and super sweet...

  • At least her family stayed together too many families will hit hard times and they thing seperating will solve things but that only makes you broke and lonely. Hundreds of thousands are suffering that now and it will be millions having to deal with those troubling times and it helps to keep busy we had so called hard times when growing up but we knew how to grow veggies go fishing we were not hungry not rich but not hungry.

  • @cdltpx I say so called hard times bc we had bikes to get around we kids would take to a job or WE it was no big thing not having a car. We certianly had more money not having a car. No one had a weight problem except mom she had a car but we didn't get priority like kids today do we wanted to go or do something we took to the streets to do it. I can't tell anyone where I earned my first dollar but I was very young probably around 8 cutting grass. Work is good for you wish I could do more of it;
