Sanders was a 37 year old at this fight.. he had fought 3 rounds in last 2 years.. and was already like a full time golfer.. still beated wladimir easily and almost knocked vitali too! Sanders is just badass!!
You have to respect the fact that Klitschko came back from this, because he was completely destroyed in the ring, he showed a lot of character after the fight when he congratulated sanders
This was a great lesson for Wlad, Sanders is a fucking brute of a man, and the same size as wlad roughly, meaning it was very difficult for him to ''bully'' sanders as he usually does with that jab to other opponents.
If Sanders is a "fucking brute of a man" then his face doesn't match his fighting style; he looks like a slightly older children's tv presenter :-) With the brothers there's no confusion: Wlad looks a bit prissy and Vitali looks like a brute and that's how they fight.

They are one holding the cards, meaning they pick the referee, judges, gloves, doctor & dictate the contract so their opponents are always disadvantaged. Can you give me one example of what you saw in those last 15 years that makes you say the Klitschko's were given an unfair advantage when fighting in Germany? The only unfairness I've seen so far is in the USA when the referee didn't react when Samuel Peter hit Wladimir on the back of the head several times.

Ok, I just watched it. Lots of wrestling as you say. But isn't he just doing what his coach tells him to do? In the Sanders fight, where he had a different coach, he didn't try to hold on at all, and look what happened.

That is why I said either it is a lack of boxing skills or a condition problem. Emauel Stewart has told him to grab his opponents & lean on them until they are exhausted. Out side of Germany a referee would either drop him a point or disqualify him. Like you said, & look what happens when he tries to box he loses :-)

I just watched the first round of Ali vs Foreman in Zaire. Funnily enough Ali did more clinching and wrestling in that round than I've ever seen Wladimir Klitschko do. Are you saying Ali lacked boxing skills or condition as well?

If people would be more forgiving when a champion loses a fight now and then, maybe he wouldn't be so terrified about getting knocked out. When e.g. the world champion in chess loses a few games, nobody in the chess world will exclaim that he's a fraud. No, they'll say he just had a bad day.
In my opinion, the fact that boxing fans are so unforgiving sort of justifies Wlad's fear of getting hit again.
The only sweaty guy with no shirt on I would have liked to see him hold is Lennox Lewis :). Sadly that's never gonna happen. But I must admit that I've never taken the trouble to actually go to one of Wlad's fights; his brother is far more exciting to watch live.
Yeah, I agree, it was a massive south paw left hand from a known big puncher that would have KO'd 99% of guys. But you can see how naive Wlad was after he got hurt, he was still trying to throw the same right that opened him up for more Sanders big lefts. Wlad now is far tighter and savvy, he doesn't open up until he's worn down his opponent. But he did well to get up from Sanders money punch.
Styles make matches. This was no fluke, Sanders has Wlad's number any day of the week. Sanders being a south paw means that he just has to stand square to be in line for the straight left. He's big, strong and a fast puncher too, Wlad's reflexes are just not good enough, and every time Sanders shot the left mean't he found a home - Wlad's glass jaw. Wlad may have improved from this, but I don't think enough to justify he would win after a defeat like this.

Saunders actually didn't have style and technic for boxing. He was just a modern version of old time Jess Willard. Big massive man has his meat ready for being beaten badly as Vitali Klitschko-fight proved it. It was a horrific fight and crowd loved it. Anyone can have a bad night and get caught off guard early, even a Klitschko... but just the same, Wladimir is twice the fighter now that he was in 2003. This was relatively early in his career, and he fought a guy who found a loophole in his defense. Since then, Wlad has arguably become better than his brother Vitali (who manhandled Sanders just a few months after this fight). Don't confuse bad luck for lack of skill.

Basically Klitchko fought a stupid fight here at the end of the round. He began trading with Sanders duck his head and Corrie caught him blind with that left hand. After that Wlad got stupid and rather then trying to survive and clear his head he kept on bull rushing Sanders trying to look good. He doesnt fight like this anymore,everything comes behind the jab. Sanders would not have beaten Klitchko after Steward trained him

That is why I said either it is a lack of boxing skills or a condition problem. Emauel Stewart has told him to grab his opponents & lean on them until they are exhausted. Out side of Germany a referee would either drop him a point or disqualify him. Like you said, & look what happens when he tries to box he loses :-)

- just because a fight is held in Germany, doesn't mean the referee is German
- before the Sanders fight he didn't wrestle his opponents and he still beat them easily

Second, if Klitschko is allowed to pick the judges, referee, doctor, gloves etc. how can you call that an impartial & objective fight ? ESPN says that Wladimir dictates the contracts. If people would be more forgiving when a champion loses a fight now and then, maybe he wouldn't be so terrified about getting knocked out. When e.g. the world champion in chess loses a few games, nobody in the chess world will exclaim that he's a fraud. No, they'll say he just had a bad day.
In my opinion, the fact that boxing fans are so unforgiving sort of justifies Wlad's fear of getting hit again.

Yeah, I agree, it was a massive south paw left hand from a known big puncher that would have KO'd 99% of guys. But you can see how naive Wlad was after he got hurt, he was still trying to throw the same right that opened him up for more Sanders big lefts. Wlad now is far tighter and savvy, he doesn't open up until he's worn down his opponent. But he did well to get up from Sanders money punch.

Styles make matches. This was no fluke, Sanders has Wlad's number any day of the week. Sanders being a south paw means that he just has to stand square to be in line for the straight left. He's big, strong and a fast puncher too, Wlad's reflexes are just not good enough, and every time Sanders shot the left mean't he found a home - Wlad's glass jaw. Wlad may have improved from this, but I don't think enough to justify he would win after a defeat like this.

Saunders actually didn't have style and technic for boxing. He was just a modern version of old time Jess Willard. Big massive man has his meat ready for being beaten badly as Vitali Klitschko-fight proved it. It was a horrific fight and crowd loved it. Anyone can have a bad night and get caught off guard early, even a Klitschko... but just the same, Wladimir is twice the fighter now that he was in 2003. This was relatively early in his career, and he fought a guy who found a loophole in his defense. Since then, Wlad has arguably become better than his brother Vitali (who manhandled Sanders just a few months after this fight). Don't confuse bad luck for lack of skill.

This pattern has been a continuation since his lost to Brewster, Sanders, & Puritty he consensates this as boxing. As far as getting better I doubt that very seriously. Wladimir has always had fighters who were intimidated by his height, weight, and reach, that is why they lose the fights because they let Wladimir dictate the fight in the ring. Sanders took it to Wladimir and surprised him. Perhaps Haye shouldve adopted these tactics instead getting picked off by Wlads solid jab. Haye seemed too passive to me or he suddenly realized that he wasn't boxing Harrison and got scared LOL. But kudos to Wlad, smart but yet predictable tactics that did the job -shame Haye didn't follow Corrie's tactics :)

Basically Klitchko fought a stupid fight here at the end of the round. He began trading with Sanders duck his head and Corrie caught him blind with that left hand. After that Wlad got stupid and rather then trying to survive and clear his head he kept on bull rushing Sanders trying to look good. He doesnt fight like this anymore,everything comes behind the jab. Sanders would not have beaten Klitchko after Steward trained him
