America was never about democracy. Before 1865, black people were slaves. Apartheid ruled in the USA until the great social revolution of 1968. @82ayda I live and work in Australia now, and have lost touch with the US Military. There are very few Former Marines living here. I know some fall in my category, that is disllusionment, but others are die hard fanatics who won't change their minds. I miss the Marine Corps- the cameraderie and adventurous lifestyle. Thinking which I haven't pratcied so I don't have a definitive answer. But I imagine that national borders creates seperation which hinders us from working towards the greater good. I know some fall in my category, that is disllusionment, but others are die hard fanatics who won't change their minds. I miss the Marine Corps- the cameraderie and adventurous lifestyle. But I do fear for the future of the USA.

I wish our american news broadcasters (ABC, NBC,CBS,CNN,...) were as objective and multifaceted as RT& BBC. The US news broadcasting system changed some time shortly after watergate, into a puppet of the elite. Even Al Jezera does a better job, now, as far as I'm concerned. I hope the internet can remain as freely available and distributable as it is, and not become dominated by the elite as the US news system has become.

You only have to see the sort of crap the BBC puts out every day to see what I mean. @ATG0009 Well said. But I feel that the existence of countries may be detremental. Of course, this is a topic that requires much critical thinking. Thinking which I haven't pratcied so I don't have a definitive answer. But I imagine that national borders creates seperation which hinders us from working towards the greater good. For example, people may focus on the problems fo their country and ignore those of others. Or even worse, despise those of another nation. Just thoughts.
