Okay mspharding- if you don't pay for their work (& it is work, albeit rewarding work, to write, record, produce music) how will the artist survive? The studio, mastering, duplication, distribution all costs money! Maybe you're still living with your parents so you'd understand why artists / musicians should be paid for their art. According to your logic anything anyone creates you should just be able to take without any compensation. In my book that's stealing.

Just to say something; i think chamearaa or whatever your name is. You're a typical example of the brainwashing that Governments and music companies are so great at.

Music is an art form for all. It's meant to be shared and enjoyed. It's meant to be loved and hated. It's not meant to have a price tag on it. If artists loved music, as much as they say they do, they'd share it freely willingly. If they wanna run it like a business, expect people to get the cheapest form available.

@mspharding A good point, but people also need to consider that if the musicians truly love to create music for themselves and the world, and want to do so all the time, we should pay them back, if just a little bit; for there efforts to please? Even if it's not what they were looking for from fans necessarily, they gotta make a living somehow. @chemaeraa What I do is download the music, then when I get the money, I go out and buy the cd. So I guess it's sort of okay? haha But I get exactly where you're coming from. For bands that aren't music "icons" like Lady Gaga and others that don't put the effort and soul into their music and get millions of dollars for shitty songs, this is the only way bands like The Maine makes money. If not one person went out and bought their cds and eps, then they probably wouldn't be a band today.
