Great Song, did you know it was a re-make from a Trinidadian song by the same name...I think the royalties were sheared with the original writer too.....
Ah... The innocent days when a woman didn't have to look like a pinup model or a hooker to get a record deal. I remember the Andrews Sisters from the Abbot and Costello movies. I always loved their music.
this song was only 70 years ago, but it seems to be an other world... USA was rich and waelthy, all the people of the world wanted to be american... and nowadays, USA is poor, totally old fashioned, and all the world around hates USA. nobody wants to be american anymore... from the dream to the nightmare... so sad. I sincerely pity USA.
Thanks for sharing your appreciation with the rest of us Andrews sisters fans. Pecuilar how it looks EXACTLY like my video! Lol, just kidding. Everyone should start posting Rum and Coca Cola videos... start a viral sensation! We should all write a letter to Patty too... it's almost her birthday you know.
Thank you for sharing this gem. The photos are wonderful to see (some I've not seen before). As more people around the globe (particularly young people) learn about the Andrews Sisters and their incredible influence on music, movies, performances, dress, mannerisms, patriotism & other cultural venures the effect should be positive and influential. I like to compare them to the Beatles because the global impact is very similiar. Patty was my favorite of the 3 sisters.
