You're right, that is one of the most popular TLK theories among fans. It explains why Kiara looks different from the cub at the end of TLK, why Zira and her followers were exiled, why Kopa doesn't appear in Simba's Pride, and why Simba becomes a severely overprotective parent.
However, it is important to remember that this is a fan theory and not canon or Disney-endorsed. It is not the "true story" but a fan-made plot. Others have differing theories that may be very different. ;)

Mheetu has a black outlander nose here because that is the way he appears in concept art. Because of his design, I extrapolated the theory that Scar could be his father (just personal opinion, of course).

my 7 year old sis (who has never liked lion king) is in love with this video. shes trying to draw pictures of ur version of mheetu! she loves this so much and she'll watch it over and over again for hours. she asks me questions about it and eventho she doesn't understand it completely, she's fasenated by it. she's going around the house yelling "mheetu" and pretending she's mheetu "having a bad day"(i seriously have no idea so dont ask). thanx 4 bringing so much joy to my lil sis & me :)
@Captain5337 actually the story goes that mheetu was born after simba ran away and his life was in constant threat because he wasnt scars, nalaa, her mom elanna(sp) and the other lionesses did everything to please scar to protect him in the book it has underlying suggestions that nalaa's mom was sleeping with scar 4 her sons protection and nalaa's as well.
@Captain5337 when nalaa started coming of age scar started becoming more and more aggrivated wanting the lionesses respect he kept asking himself what mufassa had that he didnt, then he thought of it a queen! he started to think possibly zira when nalaa walked in to complain about the hyenas he tried to force her to be "his queen" aka basicly tried to rape her in nicer words, and thats when she left to find simba.
@Captain5337 then the 1st movie and at the end they hold up Kopa their son and mheetus nephew. mheetu and nuka are good friends and mheetu has Kopa following him every where along with vitani kouvu and nuka's sister she is Kopa's age and they have a relationship similar to nalaa and simba. Nuka is very resentful towards Kopa for he would have remained prince if scar wouldnt had been killed (by simba as his mom tells him that lie) .
@Captain5337 zira dislikes Kopas relationship with her daughter and rage grows day by day and even more so wen she finds out nalaa is pregnant with a second child(kiara)! As mheetu starts coming of age he decides he wants to go start his own pride Kopa is upset and feels he is abandoning him but doesnt hate him for it and wishes him luck to find a pretty mate. Life continues on as normal as nalaas due date approches or so it seems.
@Captain5337 Nalaa gives birth to a girl nuka wishing to please and gain his mothers affections runs to tell her the news she is shockingly over joyed! then underlying himts tell why as she looks at her young cub kouvu. Kopa is overjoyed and spends lots of time with his new sister and vitani the next few days, but one early morning he wakes up to see a thick fogg outside after a lightning storm

I made Mheetu a white lion namely because of the concept sketches that exist of him for TLK. They show Mheetu as white or very pale yellow. His being a white lion is my personal interpretation of that, which has since caught on among other fanartists in the community. No one knows what Disney's final movie design for Mheetu would have looked like.

Mheetu was cut from the movie; he did not appear in any books but only in concept art. @six1brat these charecters are actually very old, the old ones that didnt show in movies were in the books, witch started the movies but they didnt make a movie for all the books, so thats why for example: kopa or mheetu didnt show in any of the movies. and actually mheetu apeared in one of the books, it wasnt popular and meerly published one of my uncles was an artist of the books, and i ended up getting the copy with mheetu in it, but it wasnt a published book.
I CRIED AT THE END! first of all, i dont even know how you can be sooo talented!! :D i love every scene!!! and it was SO clever to have the soundtrack and the ending! they went soo well and i cried....GREAT JOB!
That was absolutely precious, I enjoyed watching every second of that. I would have liked to see a ltitle more violence on ziras part, but I loved it all the same. The ghost of Mheetu shouldhave been more grown up I think, but still.. completely enthralling.

ok Koraden, I have never, and I mean NEVER before cried at a youtube video. but this was SO amazingly done I literally had tears in my eyes... Mheetu was a concept character developed as "the brother of Nala". That is all we know. Fan theories have him as her full brother, half brother, twin brother, adopted brother, etc.

So ziara killed nala's brother and attempted to kill kopa? According to wikipedia kopa was killed by a stampede when simba tried to teach him how to pounce on rocks.
So this is why simba said he banished ziara a long time ago? She was conniving. BEAUTIFUL ARTWORK

my 7 year old sis (who has never liked lion king) is in love with this video. shes trying to draw pictures of ur version of mheetu! she loves this so much and she'll watch it over and over again for hours. she asks me questions about it and eventho she doesn't understand it completely, she's fasenated by it. she's going around the house yelling "mheetu" and pretending she's mheetu "having a bad day"(i seriously have no idea so dont ask). thanx 4 bringing so much joy to my lil sis & me :)

@Captain5337 actually the story goes that mheetu was born after simba ran away and his life was in constant threat because he wasnt scars, nalaa, her mom elanna(sp) and the other lionesses did everything to please scar to protect him in the book it has underlying suggestions that nalaa's mom was sleeping with scar 4 her sons protection and nalaa's as well.

@Captain5337 when nalaa started coming of age scar started becoming more and more aggrivated wanting the lionesses respect he kept asking himself what mufassa had that he didnt, then he thought of it a queen! he started to think possibly zira when nalaa walked in to complain about the hyenas he tried to force her to be "his queen" aka basicly tried to rape her in nicer words, and thats when she left to find simba.

@Captain5337 then the 1st movie and at the end they hold up Kopa their son and mheetus nephew. mheetu and nuka are good friends and mheetu has Kopa following him every where along with vitani kouvu and nuka's sister she is Kopa's age and they have a relationship similar to nalaa and simba. Nuka is very resentful towards Kopa for he would have remained prince if scar wouldnt had been killed (by simba as his mom tells him that lie) .

@Captain5337 zira dislikes Kopas relationship with her daughter and rage grows day by day and even more so wen she finds out nalaa is pregnant with a second child(kiara)! As mheetu starts coming of age he decides he wants to go start his own pride Kopa is upset and feels he is abandoning him but doesnt hate him for it and wishes him luck to find a pretty mate. Life continues on as normal as nalaas due date approches or so it seems.

@Captain5337 Nalaa gives birth to a girl nuka wishing to please and gain his mothers affections runs to tell her the news she is shockingly over joyed! then underlying himts tell why as she looks at her young cub kouvu. Kopa is overjoyed and spends lots of time with his new sister and vitani the next few days, but one early morning he wakes up to see a thick fogg outside after a lightning storm

@Captain5337 the farthest he could see there was a fallen down tree hit by lightning he is excited to go check it out but knows he shouldnt go out alone wen everyone is asleep but decideds to go anyway an hurry back before they wake up. as he gets closer to the tree he decideds he wants to wake up vitani to show her the tree to but heres rustling in the bush he gets scared wen all of a sudden!!!!!

@Captain5337 a turtle pops out complaining to be hungary he laughs at his fear and states he isnt afraid of anything he gets ready to continue when he feels a sharp pain in his tail he looks back to find zira standing on it he chuckles a stating oh its u, she askes what he is up to and apologizes if she hurt him, he tells her he is guna go get vitani to show her the fallen tree zira suggest letting her sleep longer

@Captain5337 and asks if he would like to see something else cool and exciting luring him away from pride rock, she takes him to the gorge(the place mufassa was killed by scar) he says he isnt allowed to play here and they should go back she ask why simba wont let him play here and he says he thinks it has someting to do with his grandpa but dad wont tell him, zira chuckles this is where your father MURDERED ur grandpa!

Kopa says back but i thought king scar was a horrible king, Zira then comes back with saying no he was the most honorable king pride rock has ever had and ur father killed him! No kopa shouts telling her his father isnt a murderer she asks THEN WHO MURDERED SCAR?! kopa replies by saying his own hyenas did! she loses control an begins to attack young Kopa he hides

@Captain5337 but she finds him by following his crys in the fog and kills him as he lets out a loud cry for mom, nalaa back at pride rock awakes frantic from a nitemare about kopa she looks around despretly looking for him realizing he isnt there she takes off with the others except for sarabi who looks after kiara, simba comes across zira cleaning her paws of blood simba outraged asks her to explain what she has done with Kopa she says i dont know wat ur talking about he is out playing

Simba lounges for Zira the moment he is about to kill her he stops, go ahead kill me she says leave 3 young cubs as orphans. he tells sarafina (sarabis sister, simbas aunt, scars ex gf wen they were teens not wen he was evil yet) to fetch her children from the den

@Captain5337 he tells Zira a punishment worst then death awaits her EXILE! she truly is terrified (due to her past childhood but thats a whole other story). at the den (fyi zira and her children didnt sleep inside pride rock due to ziras grudge and stubborness to let the past go) Vitani awakes from a pleasent dream of her an kopa as adults getting maried turned into a nitemare wen he evaporates into non existence.

@Captain5337 sarafina walks in and ask them to come with her and picks up little kovou (hes to young to walk much). they ask where they are going and y she does not awnser or look them in the eye. wen they arrive simba makes the sentencing stating because of wat u have done u r exiled ur children may stay at pride rock if u wish to give them a better childhood and future then wat u had we will...NEVER she screams and leaves walking off with nuka and kouvu

COMe vitani zira shouts and she follows her mother worried for Kopa. word spreads fast of Ziras treason and reaches mheetu who has begun a pride of his own(no children or marrige yet just a gf and a couple other lions around his age ready to b on their own). he leaves to race back to the pridelands but gets confused and loses his way

@Captain5337 (thats really the last i ever read of him in the books sorry i couldnt help more with info on him, he is still alive though thats all that matters). wen they reach the outlands vitani asks her mother if Kopa is hurt she says he isnt hurt she is relieved zira yells HE IS DEAD! vitani breaks down screaming and runs away back to the pride lands but is treated horribly by the animals their and chased off nearly escaping injury.

@Captain5337 but yea i think i have told u enough but having read the original collection my grandmother kept on her shelves i can recommend a great shortened version by a girl online who has translated them from their german version into a comic she did all the artwork herself she isnt finished with them but they get the story across and she is still working on the tenth ones artwork if u want email me on here and ill send the page to u sorry for the loooong comment

@Captain5337 i get really excited wen telling the hidden stories it connects all the dots the movies dont fully touch on. like how zira and scar met for instance and y zira lives at pride rock wen she wasnt originally from their and y she has this obsession wit scar wen he isnt even the father of her kids. but anyway thats the original version but i really like this video! i enjoyed it i like that Kopa got to live it would have been alot better if mheetu lived to this vid was GR8!

Mheetu is the younger brother of Nala, who was cut from the first Lion King movie early on in production. He was supposed to be an annoying tagalong to Simba and Nala (Me-Too). Kopa appeared in a set of Lion King picture books as Simba and Nala's son. Some people believe that Kopa is the cub held up at the end of the first movie as well, although this is just a theory.

@mcrGD11 where to begin... if u want more help, google his name! ull find lots about him. well, here's a quick overveiw b4 u go do that: at the end of TLK rafiki holds up a baby lion who some say is kopa because after the movie they made books about kopa, simba and nala's son. but then the 2nd movie came out and no kopa, just kiara. well disney says kopa never exsit, but then y did they publish all those books then? some make up stories and say zira killed him. hope this helped! :)

I made Mheetu a white lion namely because of the concept sketches that exist of him for TLK. They show Mheetu as white or very pale yellow. His being a white lion is my personal interpretation of that, which has since caught on among other fanartists in the community. No one knows what Disney's final movie design for Mheetu would have looked like.

Mheetu was cut from the movie; he did not appear in any books but only in concept art. There are many "subcanon" characters that appeared in Lion King picture books and comics, and I have compiled some scans on my photobucket account (user: koraden) in the TLK6NA, TLK Comics, and TLK Picture Books folders, click on the links to the left. You could also check out The Lion King Wikia, which has a good section on non-movie characters, just google it.

@six1brat these charecters are actually very old, the old ones that didnt show in movies were in the books, witch started the movies but they didnt make a movie for all the books, so thats why for example: kopa or mheetu didnt show in any of the movies. and actually mheetu apeared in one of the books, it wasnt popular and meerly published one of my uncles was an artist of the books, and i ended up getting the copy with mheetu in it, but it wasnt a published book.

That was absolutely precious, I enjoyed watching every second of that. I would have liked to see a ltitle more violence on ziras part, but I loved it all the same. The ghost of Mheetu shouldhave been more grown up I think, but still.. completely enthralling.

ok Koraden, I have never, and I mean NEVER before cried at a youtube video. but this was SO amazingly done I literally had tears in my eyes... I am first of all impressed beyond belief that you drew each frame yourself and then animated it. You have TALENT my friend. Second, the idea that Mheetu came back to protect his nephew, was heart-stopping. I choked up right there. And while it doesnt explain where Kopa went, it was beautiful!!!! Also, that Timon took the bite of Zira's ear was genius!!!

Mheetu was a concept character developed as "the brother of Nala". That is all we know. Fan theories have him as her full brother, half brother, twin brother, adopted brother, etc.
For this particular video my fan THEORY is Mheetu is Nala's half brother, by the same mother (Sarafina). Scar is Mheetu's father, but Scar is not Nala's father in this scenario. Some fans like to think he is, though many fans don't. I personally am on the "not" side, but that's just my opinion.

Kopa is supposed to be Kiara's brother.
He appeared in a set of young-reader books called "The Lion King: 6 New Adventures" as the cub of Simba and Nala. Most picture books published at this time also call the cub held up at the end of the first movie Simba and Nala's "son".
Since Simba's Pride came out, however, Disney doesn't acknowledge the existence of Kopa. The official word is that Kiara is the only cub of Simba and Nala. But Kopa lives on in fanart and fanfiction today.
