Dion, who is a close friend of mine recorded this in the style of a more upbeat and hip tempo of the time, the original recording is in fact a timeless classic, like I said,it was done in the 50's and early 60's style, back then we referred to music like this as "Romantic Rock"n"Roll",back then we did The Stroll,The Bop,and just plain old fashioned Slow Dancing,up close, and very romantic.Sincerely,The Original Chevelles,Chuck Bruni.
Welllllll, I beg to differ with Alleyp---. Cause I think that the original song by Cliff Edwards is still the best. It brings tears to my eyes. Listen to it and you decide.
Pinocchio was always one of my favourite films, always made me cry. And Dion has long been one of my favourite singers, heck, I named my son after him.
So I love Dion & the Belmonts in conjuction with the Disney still !
I actually acquired this version on the Laurie label many years ago in a London specialist 'oldies' shop.
It was Cuba 1958 when I first saw the movie "Pinocchio" at age 6. The day began with my mother bringing me to a bookstore and buying me the "Little Golden Book" you have pictured here; then we continued to the theater to see the movie. The brilliance of Disney's magical animation, the heartfelt story and the dear memory of that magical day with my mother will forever be emblazoned in my brain. Thank you for posting this video and for bringing me back to such a sweet time and place.
THE RADIO NEVER PLAYS THIS FORGOTTEN CLASSIC..SUCH A SHAME.

This song won an oscar in 1940... I believed. In the voice of Dion & The Belmonts is even better than the original version,
