Martin Rushent, their producer at this time, said that Phil's main concern was not the music, that would be taken care of by others, but IMAGE. Image was everything: Phil had an idea of HOW the Human League should be seen by the public. When you look at the ocver of Dare, you can see exactly why he picked Joanne and Susanne from all the other clubbers dancing away at the Crazy Daisy disco all those years ago;)
