  • A fabulous song by a great singer.Nobody could sing like Frankie. I've collected over 500 of his songs over the years, cheers,Ernie

  • idiots' just listen to the song, and drop the "shit"!

Frankie Laine was a great singer and this was a classic!

    You "shit-heads" need a life!

  • Laine was terrific. But this has got to be one of the worst sounding recordings ever. It sounds like its vibrating through a rusty tin can.

  • Excellent. Fond memories.

  • Hell Bent for Leather by Frankie Laine is one of the classic albums of all time. Every cut evokes vivid images of an era and spirit we should never forget. Keep it alive.

  • Taco

  • My Dad played this 78 over and over...one of my best memories. Played it for him on his death bed, hoped he flew with that Wild Goose...

  • -My Pr*ck of an older Brother would come into My bedroom & sing this tune over Me when I was a baby-so I would shiver everytime I heard it...now, at 52, I can finally listen to it, without fear. I'm still afraid of Sharks, thanks to him, but...

  • @IzzyxXxMenace You have issues

  • I sing this song to myself once a month. Love it and the entire Hell Bent for Leather album.

  • Great song. There was also a very funny parody called the Geshrey of the

Vilde Kochka (The Cry of the Wild Chicken) by Mickey Katz.

  • the beginning sounds like it could be a Kanye sample.

  • I passed a little time with him at Bob City in 1949. A really nice guy.

  • if u uys like clasic songs u shud check out chewin gum its a very gud 50's song

  • @morjd736

    1950 (I'm pretty sure)

  • Does anybody know when this song was recorded?

  • @morjd736 recorded actually 1949 and released 1949

  • I have also followed Frankie Lane for many yeaes.ù

    Thank you for sharing it.

  • Investigate the Leningrad Cowboys if you think I'm a madman.

  • I agree. This isn't Frankie Laine's best version of this song. I like it. I enjoyed it. But it's not the one I grew up with.

On a completely different tangent, I feel that a decent 'punk' version of this song, backed with a good brass and chorale ensemble would produce something worthwhile.

Before declaring judgement, give it a thought.

  • This isn't Frankie Laine's best version!! Too fast!

  • I have this LP on the Columbia pressing, it sounds amazing. He was a heck of a singer.

  • There is a great parody of this song by Catus Pryor called "Cry Of A Dying Duck In A Thunderstorm" - definitely worth checking out.

  • haha the best song ever i love it haha

  • im 21 and love frankie coz of my dad and grandfather a rtue legend

  • keep listening to him--you won't go wrong. I have followed him for over 50 years and never been disappointed. All the best from a lifelong Frankie Laine fan,nr Liverpool
