The only problem with Legacy's & all Subarus i guess, they have little ground clearance, other than that the cars are well made and great to drive.......

@hydecounty100 My stock 02' Outback has 7.3" to the side skirts, it's even higher to the diff. I wouldn't really call that low. A Jeep Rubicon has 10ish. I've already had it in snow that was up to the door handles before. They're pretty capable on the clearance front believe it or not. However, you're right the Legacys are pretty low, but the Foresters aren't too bad, either.

@hydecounty100 Well, the Forester, Tribeca, and Outback have about 8 to 9 inches of ground clearance, which is decent for light to light-medium off-roading. But a good lift oughta make them almost truck-like in ground clearance! Also, another problem (with the Tribeca and Outback anyways) is the bad approach and departure angles. The Forester is the best off-road due to superior approach, departure, and breakover angles.

@hydecounty100 You call 8.7 " little? They have better ground clearance than most "SUV's" An Outback is more capable than most vehicles unless they are serious off road machines. They have plenty of clearance and one of the best AWD systems.

@usnavyseals2o1 It's an '08, they sit like 3 inches off the ground, the tires have nothing to do with its off road abilities, its an issue of clearance. Why would you think it was tires first of all anyways, its not like I said I wasn't getting traction. I have gotten to drive it in one snow storm so far and it was amazing, uncomparable to anything I have ever drivien in the snow. Subie FTW
