im sorry but a castiel spin off however awesome it sounds and i would enjoy it, would be boring, if you do a spin off of him BEFORE he meets sam and dean, he would just have a robotic personality which wouldnt be fun, because he didnt get a fun personality until introduced to dean, and if it ran alongside the supernatural from season 4-end then itd be dull because its only like half or less of a seasons worth of episodes for one supernatural season the only other way to
