  • You are talented musicians. But, I do not understand your method of filming, with a new frame shot every second or two. Kinda makes me sick to my stomach. I have a lonnnnggger attention span than that. Your music is worth us having a better look at what you're doing. Don't worry, it won't be boring!

  • @CARROLLCTYDOBROGIRL the musicians generally aren't the ones who do the production of the videos.

  • @jrdixon51 .Hi, I saw him with the remains of The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band at MerleFest in '07, so it may have been the same year; great performance by John McEuen and Shawn Camp.

  • look at Jerry at 2:35

  • John MCEuen played on and produced the 3 record LP album set "Will the circle be unbroken" in 1971 released 1972 with "Nitty Gritty Dirt Band"(he a member) and the greats of Bluegrass like Vassar Clements,Little Jimmie Dickens,Doc Watson,Mother Maybelle Carter, etc.

  • This is just REAL purty! Love Sam Bush! Thanks John McEuen!

  • God made John McEuen and then sat back and said "Dang I am good!"

  • @agates11: Hey Gates, wouldn't you say you're a little bit biased??? No, he sat back and said 'I want another one, and he made YOU!'

  • JOHN MCEUEN RULES

  • I think I WOULD get upset that Jerry Douglas and Sam Bush are in every great bluegrass vid... but they're just so awesome i really don't mind :)

  • HuH?

  • Boy! They got some SUPERPICKERS!

  • AWESOME!! I LOVE the fiddle/banjo at 2:27/28! Cold Chills! This is the BEST vid on YouTube IMHO!

  • EXCELLENT , just purely excellent stuff ... Lisa & JT... you were very lucky to have Roy in your lives... I just wanted to say Thanks for sharing your thoughts here... Godbless...

  • This is my daughter's ID but I have to say thank you for posting this -- I remember this one from 1991-1992 on CMT back when I was young enough to believe I had to have cable TV to survive -- I have searched for this video online periodically through the years -- Thanks for posting it!

  • he's the man

  • What more someone can ask?A classic powerful tune, the hottest pickers in the American acoustic scene and the purest hard-driving bluegrass meets fusion feeling....God bless those guys!! Enjoy

  • Thanks Jt for sending this to me, and thanks to VideoSamaritan. Great seeing my late husband Roy on bass.

  • Oh my goodness! ...you're welcome! I wasn't aware that Roy is no longer with us. He was obviously a fine musician, and I'm sure you miss him and think of him often. You must be proud of his accomplishments...and his performance in this short music video is definately one of them. Thanks for sharing, Blessings!

  • Yes, Roy passed away September 7th 1997, he was 40 years old. I lost our youngest son May 22, 2006.

It is always great to see a video with Roy it in. As my other son Jt said, nice memories.

    Lisa

  • Also, I just found out not too long ago, that we lost David Schnauffer in 2006. I was so devastated. He was the nicest person. I got a chance to play with him at a festival once. Nothing serious. But still entertaining. May he rest in peace.

  • So sorry about to hear this too! David was a virtuoso on the dulcimer and played on the original LP. (From the internet) I learned that he taught at Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music since 1995 and was one of their first teachers (along with Mark O'Connor and Butch Baldassari). He recorded with The Judds, Johnny Cash, Kathy Mattea, Mark Knopfler, Emmylou Harris, Chet Atkins and many others. He was a wonderful artist and teacher, one whose influence will be felt for many years. Thanks David!

  • Nice memory to see dad playin at his prime!

    Great addition to youtube!

  • Thank you for posting this VDO. I like it!

  • excellen i saw this recently like 5 years ago on comt thanks for the memory i hope they put it up again
