Some people dance, some people scratch their back, some people eat string cheese, some people get chicken pox, some people like raisins, some people listen to music, some people get parking tickets, some people sit down, some people make yeast, some people know what a book is, some people make buttons, some people make Benjamins, and some people....some people...think this movie has something powerful to say...(FADE TO BLACK)
@BunnyMan456 lol isn't that how dramatic Hollywood movies get academy awards? Talk about life and a lot about death + meaningful words + violins = win!
This is the one of the best movies I will ever see, the deep sense of meaning in this movie is so surreal and moving. This movie will be placed next to the classics such as Dances With Wolves.
This should have beaten slumdog slumdog was good but the reason I think they let it win was because of a race thing because they wanted to show that they aren't discriminative or hateful of east native culture. Benjamin button wasn't even a rip off of Forrest gimp because Benjamin didn't do all these famous things and the story is completely different. And I am in no way racist or consider western culture superior as I am a minority even though I live in north America and was raised to believe
@themalarya he grew young and became a baby and it was as if he had never been born...but the memory of Benjamin Button lived on within the hearts of those who loved him
this makes me sob every time. and I love how queenie mouths, "my baby," (at least I think that's what she's trying to say) as she spreads her arms open. beautiful. and for those that asked, the song is Bethena: A Concert Waltz by Scott Joplin.
Sorry, but I think Fincher fu%$ed up the ending...IMHO he shoulda ended the movie with "and some people...dance" and a slow close up of Daisy twirlng in slow motion and then fade to black. The movie is really about Bens love for her... Thoughts?
@RideMyBMW The movie was more about his life in general and the experiences he had. A big theme in the movie, apparent in multiple monologues, is to live a life to it's fullest and never be afraid to start over. The clock being washed away in the end literally symbolizes the end, it was also introduced in the beginning to represent the beginning of Benjamin's story. The clock is symbolic of him in that it goes backwards in time. In a way, this ending scene is supposed to summarize the movie.
@SophisticatedMonster Dude, didn't sign up for a Film course here...In the theatre I was like : "end it now, end it" but no, the dude had to cram a few more minutes of Katrina flooding New Orleans n sh%$. The very last scene with the clock ruined it for me.
@SophisticatedMonster Thats Hurricane Katrina washing the clock away...no joke...I was surprised when I found this out but the movie storyline played it so well....New Orleans 2005....Beautiful Movie
it's one of my favs movie part . we must confront our nature.

@BIG10717 No, he died... So rather than dying of Old Age, he dies as a Child instead of re entering a woman in the womb.. .i guess

I just think that it is sad that we was born with a number on his life already - born at 70 he can only have up to 70 years to live.
