oh my gosh were you smiling in your sleep? That is so awesome!..lol Great video and I thought the swab info was very interesting. I'll have to remember that!
I was up early and had the surgery the first thing in the morning on Jan 3rd 2008. My surgery was so different. I did not see the operating table. I was in the bed wheeled down the hall...and then slept within seconds of leaving the pre-op cubicle.
Love it! Don't you know you can't live in SFO and be allergic to shell fish! I noticed that wasn't clam chowder you were eating on the wharf. That song , those pictures, I miss it there so much!!! Time for a trip. Yes , its totally normal for your mom to bite you :) She looks like a lot of fun. Now onto video 2. Vanessa
Lol, everyone pities me because I can't have crab, calamari or lobster. Its like blasphemy to them. If you are out this way let me know. My Mom is a trip and silly too. I hope you're enjoying the videos.
I feel really good. No pain, no tightness or discomfort. Right now I'm low energy, but I can be energetic if I have. I just feel really tired at the end of the day. I would definitely be able to go back to work if it was a desk job. Will you have to lecture? Can you do part of it sitting down?
I can lecture sitting down if I want to and some profs do, but it's not my style, they know if I am sitting and not moving about that something is wrong. They know I am having some sort of surgery because I had to cancel classes for 2 days before Thanksgiving. I did schedule it in that most classes will be doing final presentations/projects, then it's sitting and watching them take finals 4 a wk. I then have close to 4 wks of winter break. Do you think that would work if I have no complications?
I'm about 9 days out now and I could definitely sit, listen to presentations and comment intelligently and appropriately. I don't think I would have the energy to walk around for an hour lecturing. Maybe you could do it intermittently. I really think you'll be okay as long as you don't have any complications. It might also be helpful to prepare your lectures before surgery.I've heard numerous people on here say they could have gone back to work after 2 weeks (that's almost 10 days:)
You go girl, you attitude is so beautiful. Keep walking and once you are cleared begin lifting handweights (something light)and you will help tone while you lose. Yes there will be skin but that can be removed. I am sos excited for you.
thanks so much for sharing this information. I have Kaiser as well and I'm looking forward to having wls soon. Congrats to the new you

Ahhhhh your mom is a sweetie. she likes to bite. That is so sweet, she loves you!!!!
Wow, your experience sounds totally painless and quick (once they got the show on the road)

I guess the biting is a form of love. I pretend it bothers me, but it makes me laugh. She's a silly woman.

I'm hoping the skin won't be that bad. I looking forward to being able to lift weights and start building more muscle.
