there are so many young asians talented in something! And then Usa comes with this. Look at this. Emily Bear the piano prodigy only 7 years old playing mozart XO?
what's that? while like 900,000 asians can play the piano perfect in young age?
@monkeyBoner773 Wow, just bc she's asian? Never heard of naturally gifted/ talented? You don't have to be locked in a room and forced to practice to be that good. IT'S CALLED RAW TALENT! lets see you find some.
@KwonJiyong33 Talent= (a lot of) Practice, do you think she can play this because she just had luck, she probably practiced a lot! But I agree with you that because she's good, it doesn't mean that she's locked in a room and forced to play. She probably likes to play. I think her talent is a combination of passion for music and hard work.
DRAMA QUEEN.... who is teaching this kid to be sooo dramatic...even before she gets to the piano.... kind of weird like those child beauty pageants.... just put her in jeans and a tshirt and let her play....
I wonder if she can speak...write..or do anything but play a professional piece to an average level. Of course, the playing is sublime for her age; however, you have to ask how this piece is meant to be played. There is a lack of expression. Yes, dynamics are there, but the accents on the sharps in the LH and then the RH in the first parts are just not there.. She should focus on expression and articulation rather than trying to impress - I want to hear her tune, not say wow bc she's 11.
Was great! Saw a little flat fingers on the left hand though.. If you fix that, things my be easier to practice and you won't be as probe to hurting or damaging your fingers. But it was great!!! :)
Well, that's the benefit of having good parents who send you to learn piano when you're a kid. It helps you develop your brain, and it's the only way to be a good pianist. You can't be a good pianist if you learn when you're older (18+) because your fingers are stiffer then.
@SebaRasta I disagree even at 18 our brains never stop maturing, or learning. As for our fingers its easier as an adult because they longer and can bend at the correct movement that harder pieces require, the advantage that children have is that they may learn faster, and/or pick up techniques faster. Its like when you learn a different language, instead you speak with your fingers :)
um...i mean, like how can Valerie plays the piano and the violin THAT well???and she was only 11 in this video? OMGGG...she reli is a music genius!:)) btw, where does she from? and when does she started to learn the piano?
this is a really tricky song...it literally requires your brain to think as individuals. Your left hand must be always even. Your right hand must always maintain the speed and hit accurate notes. Its difficult i tell you :P Lovely playing!
on this video we can hear a more mature young lady already. Its verey interesting to see on youtube the evolution of this very very talented and hard working pianist.
She never lost her natural musicality and play. I am very confident for the futur of this young lady.....
ugly ugly ugly verry bad transition too hasty no sense of musicality at all verry easy trick try to play the left hand little more softly try to push the keyes dont hit them on the soft parts try to like borenboim says think more of structure of the piece the first endante maybe less harder then the second one after the slow piece its not a shame to look at the keyes when you are playing maybe you will hit the right notes this way
"ziggaza" disgusts me. You played beautifully, and have a lot of talent. You obviously know a lot more about piano that he or she does about the english language and punctuation. Keep practicing, playing beautifully and don't let YouTube bullies get you down.

That's pwiddy punny! The twuth is, she doesn't pwactice all day. She does pray the biolin and piano evewyday, but also goes to school, eats, does homework, reads Shakespeare, luns alound the house praying with her puppy, and studies for the SAT. hahaha. lolrtf
Just make sure she understands what it means to play with complete control and versatile musicality. Often we teach kids to play in this way and they grow up thinking this is how it should always sound. She in her violin and piano playing, is very obviously just a kid playing at a high level. Make sure the transition to adulthood follows even more rigorous training... doing it at a younger age if possible, is better.
wow! I really enjoyed her rendition of this piece. This piece, or actually all of Chopin's works, require a lot of emotion and she conveyed that well. It seems as if it comes very natural to her. I wonder how much she practices daily? 5 star and plus. and how long as she been playing for? I'm a fan
Studying for the SAT already; oh man. And Shakespeare at this age-- What generally can people understand beyond the literal words? If she's doing them out of her creative interest--that's great. But this is more suggestive of a typical case of "treating their child like their mutual funds."
Most parents don't give a damn about honing in on their kids. A kid is like a garden that must have seeds planted and then the garden tended to. Most parents just drop seeds and the plants grow, and so do the weeds along the plants that sap the life out of the good seed plants.
Children don't know one thing from another. If left to their devices, most of them will drop out when the going gets tough, which is not a good habit to develop.
Don't criticize what you never had or went through.
If you are a parent at all, then you probably have not been exposed to the type of parents I was raised under. I never disputed the fact that children are like gardens--I agree, they are, but "most parent's don't give a damn about honing in on their kids" is certainty untrue in my culture.
Shakespeare, in the first 17 sonnets of his sonnet collection, describes the offspring as the reflection and extension of its parents. That's why some parents do give a damn about decorating their kids.

Technically great, but it lacks feeling in a lot of ways. It's so important to hang over those crucial notes, pull it back, give proper voice.
Speed is one thing, but expression and feeling are another [and they're not mutually exlusive :O) ]

You are right about that. If it was Horowitz, Rubinstein, or Yundi Li playing this, nobody would criticize.

wow! I really enjoyed her rendition of this piece. This piece, or actually all of Chopin's works, require a lot of emotion and she conveyed that well. It seems as if it comes very natural to her. I wonder how much she practices daily? 5 star and plus. and how long as she been playing for? I'm a fan

Good performance.

You know what's worse? Those kinds of kids using microphones to chat online.
Annoying.
