The basses here played musical chairs a lot - Corbelli would later sing Magnifico, and Spagnoli Dandini. I'm just saying. And this might be my favorite part of Cenerentola, musically.
I liked it. Most live recordings aren't going to be very precise or well balanced, but I rate it highly just because this is such a great musical piece, and I was surprised to see it online at all.
This lacks the beautiful blending of the recording and film of this opera with Cecilia Bartoli. all the singers with the exception of Alessandro Corbelli are fairly mediocre...and the acting is shocking but musically it is abrupt and instead of sounding like an ensemble piece it sounds like 5 soloists trying to outsing each other.
AWFUL!
