His voice isn't as feminine as the lead of One Republic. I like both versions but think Kris was far better. It's ok to disagree. Songs are covered everyday, it's part of the music business.

i'm not the biggest Kris fan, but its a "certain something" that makes a singer a star. High notes are great, but if you're not "the one", range doesn't matter. Ask Mick Jagger, Elvis Presley, or Frank Sinatra. If great high notes were required to make people buy your records, we never would have heard of them.

I don't know. Not saying Kris has 'it', not saying Adam doesn't: Saying vocal range is something appreciated in a singer you like, not a primary reason to like him. I feel Adam's cd's  sllck production puts a wall between him & his audience. I prefer natural-sounding vocals, & wonder: Did producers find 'something' lacking in him that made them 'sweeten' so much? To me, he 'sounds' better when I see him. Eyes closed, less so: Range, intonation, performance: Great. Essential sound.. hmmm.
