@nazirdjon Oh man!!! The same stuff was happening to me, when I had Win Vista. But my headphones were plugged in Logitech G110 keyboard. But after upgrading on Win 7 and installing the last drivers, everything works perfect now! :D So, try to update drivers or install the right one and try if the same happens in any other program (or the problem persist only in Chrome)
BTW the sound works sometimes but when i remove my headphones it doesnt work and when i reinsert them it still doesnt work. Pls help I cant live without my music.
Hey. I looked at your solution and it seems like its not the problem I have. My problem is that sound does not work on my computer. When you change the master volume usually you here a ping sound and the bar for the master volume goes up and down for a sec. Well for me that doesnt happen. Sound basically doesnt work and iTunes wont work. When I press play the bar which shows how far the music has gone stays still and does nothing. Please help. >.<

@Darclien Here is the easy way to fix it... This some times works first open Computer / mageager ... in Computer mageagement click "Device Manager" next click the triangle next to "Sound, video and game controllers " ... now right click the sound driver and select uninstall ...
After it has uninstalled "scan for hardware changes" and many times it will install the correct driver .

did not work for me despite i followed step by step what you did, im using realtek HD driver, windows update installed by default VIA AC´97 enhance audio controller and i get sound even when i reboot the PC but after my PC is completed shutdown and i turn it on im back with out sound, then i have to reboot it i get sound, any ideas? please...
@laikiunreal Are you sure you downloaded the correct driver. The first problem I see is you mentioned "AC'97 enchanced audio controller" and you are saying that you are using "realtek HD driver" . According to what you mentioned I can only figure out that you are using wrong drivers. Please go to realtek site and in the "datasheet" of the drivers confirm that your device is listed before you download the drivers.

Well Ive done this and now it just says No speakers or headphones plunged in.. and when I plugin my Headphones, my computer does not recognize them. @angeriod I can help you if I know the cause of the problem. It seems like you have wrong drivers installed. Windows might say it has the correct and best drivers installed but that is not correct in a lot of cases. You have to know the sound card/chip that you have installed then download appropriate drivers.

Hi, I cannot tell what could be the problem without seeing it. But with what you told me I am assuming that somehow you have got the wrong drivers downloaded. There are realtek HD driver and normal drivers. First thing I would recommend to you is to please thoroughly check the drivers you have downloaded. How did you find the drivers? How did you find out what product is being used in the computer. Let me know the details of your product and I'll see what I can do.

@tarunmunjalny yea ino but in the begin, i didnt do anything with it sorry xD but i tried the microsoft problem solver. that found something in the audio, he fixed it but it didnt work-.- then i just rebooted my comp and then it worked. so for all of you first try to restart ur pc... i normally do that first but i forgot to O_o

@BassTwisterOfficial Please download hwinfo utility. Once you download and run the utility you would be able to find out exactly what kind of sound card is installed and it will help in finding the drivers. If you cannot find the drivers after that let me know about the device and I will hel you.

Well Ive done this and now it just says No speakers or headphones plunged in.. and when I plugin my Headphones, my computer does not recognize them. But when I plug up my speakers all I hear is a low "errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" sound.. Could this mean the sound card itself is messed up?

@GhostReconSoldiers It is possible that the sound card itself is the problem. But most of the time its about the drivers. Please make sure you have the CORRECT drivers installed.

@GhostReconSoldiers You can download the drivers from you PC manufacturer's website or Device manufacturer's website. If you know what device is installed then most of the time you will see your device listed in the list of devices those drivers will work for.

Followed the steps in the tutorial and finaly i have sound.
I tryed a lot of drivers but finaly the one from the realtek site workedt, recomend.
Win7 automaticaly was loading the wrong driver if I tryed to uninstal the default driver, disableing the certificate check i was able to try diferent drivers till it worked.

Hi I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and since I got this message that my Windows is not genuine my sound has been muted and I cant do anything with it. I tried troubleshooting and it said that it couldn't detect anything? I tried with headphones, earphones and my speakers and it didn't work. I have Logitech X240 speakers and a HP Pavillion a6455.uk desktop PC. Please PM me.

my problem is i already have installed something to make my laptop have sounds but still the computer doesn't notice it sometimes there are sounds but sometimes it doesn't really have any audio... how will i make it work?? so i won't have this problem anymore .. maybe because my laptop was too old and its not compatible with windows 7

@angeriod I can help you if I know the cause of the problem. It seems like you have wrong drivers installed. Windows might say it has the correct and best drivers installed but that is not correct in a lot of cases. You have to know the sound card/chip that you have installed then download appropriate drivers.

@jonin001 What OS do you have. If you have xp/vista/7 home edition or starter edition. gpedit.msc is not available. for that check out my website. You will find detail tutorial "how to solve device driver problem" in Windows vista/7

i got sound..but all i need is too make it good quality sound..it was all good but then i dont even know how..it turned bad and its now really bad quality mostly i can hear the music if theres words in it..i can hear only wispering..its really hard...

Hi, I cannot tell what could be the problem without seeing it. But with what you told me I am assuming that somehow you have got the wrong drivers downloaded. There are realtek HD driver and normal drivers. First thing I would recommend to you is to please thoroughly check the drivers you have downloaded. How did you find the drivers? How did you find out what product is being used in the computer. Let me know the details of your product and I'll see what I can do.
