@liptusherbs I never learned the special name of it, I just used it in forms. It's a common northern Shaolin horse stance which makes me HEAVILY doubt that the name is Rising Tiger as Tiger is a Southern style.

@137jman nope. northern shaolin all the way but shao and taiji are closely related btw taiji can very quick and mainly use palms some fists shao uses more acrobatics and kicks.

Yes very much the other way around. Avatar: The last airbender used Northern Shao-lin as a style for the USA anime because of its quick fierce movement. If you payed attention when the show came out or have Book 1: Water dvd disk 1 then you would of known that.
