  • He should have spent his money finding an R34, The R35 is not a skyline GTR. It's just a GTR. They need to bring back the RB26. Real cars need real engines and the RB was capable of 1200 hp when modded if not a bit more.

  • @baderry1 i wrote this long ass reply but they wouldnt let me post it on ur profile. so i dont even care to fight with u anymore. the SKYLINE has always been a contender. It just FINALLY came to the states. Nissan has never got owned by american muscle and when u have the GTR in your corner nissan is in good hands. not saying that nissan is better but the japs hold their own. Every magazine compares some new care thats 6 figures to the GTR so why do they do that? BENCHMARK!!! it changed the game

Yes its fast and reasonably priced for how it performs.Its always a numbers game with anything, they're around 6 figures after all is said and done also. Just not Impressed after sitting around getting OWNED forever then to hear Nissan set the Benchmark is a fucking joke.   • I was not surprised the termi cobra won. did you know the WORLD´S FASTEST PRODUCTION CAR - the Koenigsegg CC8S (before the Veyron was developed) is powered by the 03-04 SVT Cobra engine ? yes - it´s the same engine. it´s even official. the Koenigsegg CC8S reached a top speed of 395kph (only 12kph slower than the Veyron) with the brillant 4.7 FordRacing Modular V8. american muscle :)

  • I have heard he was doing 10.8 or 10.7 with his gtr. At the time of the race i was putting down 620whp on 18pounds and 93 oct., that was my everyday driving tune. On pump i was doing 10.4 back in the day.

  • @WhiteVenum Those mods are now cheaper to purchase for the GT-R. The 2010s do mid 11s @120 without LC. I'm guessing with that KB you are in the 10s on the track. What do you dyno because with upgraded turbos and supporting mods he should be doing low 10s at 135+ and making around 650-70whp on 93 octane.

  • KB Cobras are sick, a KB2.6 cobra with supporting mods should rock about 650RWHP give or take depending on the boost, i dont know what the GT-R's are pullin with diff turbos but i guess it wasnt enough in this case.

    You just contradicted yourself hardcore. Let's look at the facts here. GTR=$85k.  03-04 Cobra brand new=$35-40k. Yes a stock GTR is much faster than a stock 03-04 Cobra, but take the price difference and dump it into the Cobra for performance mods, and the GTR wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell.

  • Seriously do you know what the GTR was built for? It was built to be a circuit car to be used on a track. Think about it this way: It's slower than a Z06 in a straight line but once you put the car on a track it leave the corvette in the dust. It did this consistently on numerous courses. That is why they compare the car to the more powerful ZR1. If you set this race up on a track GTR bone stock and the Cobra same mods the cobra would lose due to traction and not being a track car like the GTR.

  • In a straight line displacement wins but outside of the straight line thats where other factors come into play. The GTR is an outstanding car and don't be superficial and compare it to another just solely on price. Thats like me having a 10 second civic and comparing it to a bone stock z06. thats 10k (yes you can make a 10 second civic with just 10k including car) vs 70 right there.

    Also the GTR is only 2 years old and has not been tested to its full extent yet.

    Stock for stock to be honest, the Cobra isn't much slower. It has maybe 40 less whp, and with one supercharger pulley swap the cobra gains 60 RWHP. That pulley from steeda costs 80 bucks, a new belt, and a handheld tune all for about 400 bucks.

    400 Bucks. That's what it takes to keep up with one in a straight line. Actually deanh8 has a video of a cobra with just an exhaust and a pulley beating a GTR.

    Corners, it's a different story though, haha

  • I'm talking straight line and 1/4 mile acceleration. I don't know of ANY bone stock '03-04 Cobra that runs LOW 12's every single time. If I recall correctly, the fastest recorded 1/4 mile time from an '03-04 SVT Cobra WITH drag radials is a 12.54 @ 114mph set by Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords Magazine.

    The GT-R wasn't made to be the fastest car in America. It was designed to be the most well-rounded AND AFFORDABLE car in the world. I think they may have achieved their goal.

  • Yeah your very right the cobra is a car with so much potencial for power and yet still be a everyday car. But as you all know once you hit the low 10's every 0.1 off a sec of your 1/4 mile is going to cost you thousands and make you turn your car more into a dragster every time

  • I think that no matter the money you put into it, the Cobra is going to be easier to tune and operate since there is not a lot of technology on it. You spend a lot money to soup the Gt-R up and at the end you create more problems. Nevertheless the Cobra holds more upgrades without sacrificing the integrity of the car and with less money. Even if you get beat by the GT-R at least you get close and happy with your wallet.

  • The 03 04 cobra are a work of art . sick engine and lots of potential. At that time when i raced that gtr i had about 15k of work in it . The gtr had every upgrade he could buy at that time and he bought the car for 113,000k . So suck pretty bad getting ripped by a 50k car . also know the new gtr has its limits and good luck with braking into the 9's

  • Agreed, they're not called the Terminator for nothing. Those yrs of cobras (03-04) are way better then the GT500.The GTR is a sick car too but lets face it if you beef up the 03-04 cobras you minus well get use to seeing there tail lights.
