Expansys has the iPAQ 110 for $285 USD as of today. It does not have a camera. It does have "Internet" if by Internet you mean WiFi. It does not "have Internet" if you're referring to 3G.
WiFi is the term used to describe 802.11b, 802.11g, etc. Wireless networking based on radio frequencies. I'm sure you've heard the term before, it's quite common. I haven't used the program iSilo, but I've heard of it.
Honestly, I'm not sure - I didn't do any serious battery tests. According to the Brighthand review, it plays video for four hours straight before the battery dies...so I'd guess you'd see about 5-6 hours of WiFi use.
oh good you're on here ok so i want a pda because they can do video music internet and photos pretty much an ipod touch however why should i get this instead of an ipod touch?
One, do you have to pay for it monthly like a cell phone.
Two: So if I have a working internet like Quest or AOL I don't have to pay for internet because I'm already paying for a working internet already for the Wifi to connect to, right?
No, there's no monthly fee because it's not a cell phone. It has WiFi just like a laptop has WiFi, and when you buy a laptop there's no monthly fee for WiFi, right? :-)
The screen is about average brightness for a Windows Mobile device - it's adjustable, but I think I had it at maximum brightness. Don't judge the screen quality of a device based on YouTube video quality though. ;-)
great video... but seriously... do ppl still buy these devices? i mean... you cud probably buy a win mo 6 phone wid all and even more features for probably the same price... do ppl still buy dedicated pda's?
hmm... but what are the advantages? because, you can do everything you do with this and more on a win mo 6! is there anything special in this that I dont know of? i kinda like it... tell me more!
I still want to do it, but many other things have come up that take priority - I'll see what I can do before I leave for CES. No promises, but we'll see!
Good review. Just bought one off amazon, let's see how that one turns out. Many thanks for taking the time to put this on youtube, there's very few proper reviews right now. Cheers.
Great video. By far one of THE best reviews. I have a older HP device, it isn't a phone like any of the new ones. It runs Windows Mobile 2003/SE. But it serves me well. Its the HP iPAQ 5550.
I assume it supports SDHC? Also, you were wondering what to use SDIO for, but the thing does not appear to have a camera. I know HP makes a 1.3mp SDIO card, that would be perfect for this, but it would add to the bulk.
Wow, I've seen dozens of reviews from Phonearena, PhoneScoop, ShinyMedia, and Steve Litchfield, but I have to say, you are easily the best reviewer. The review just flows well, and you're much more tech-aware than the other reviewers. Also, your English is very neutral and articulate, though somewhat Canadian. My only criticism would be that you didn't really comment on the screen quality or viewing angles. Also, what kind of connectivity does it have? WIFI? Bluetooth?
Thanks for the compliments, I appreciate it. I do strive for a nice conversational flow, and I'm a geek at heart so knowing what I'm talking about is important. Although apparently (according to Engadget commenters) I should have correctly identified the UK plug rather than calling it a "European" plug. ;-)
Regarding the screen quality, I was going to talk about that more when I do the full video review on the device. And regarding the Bluetooth 2.0 and 802.11g, I thought I mentioned it, but perhaps not - I did put it in the sidebar description though. I'll try to make my video review even better!

A 3800? That ancient technology...we're talking 7+ years old by now. Does it have an SD card slot? You could get an old SD WiFi card...

Well, considering that pretty much any HTC device is going to be 2x or more as expensive as this, they should look a lot nicer, no? ;-)

You can't - the devices are sold in the one language and there's no way to change it short of flashing it with an English ROM.

can you insstall a nother software like windows mobile 6.0 on the ipaq h4355
nonlose 3 years ago
You can only install Windows Mobile 6 on the iPAQ h4355 if HP released an update for it - and I don't believe they did, so the answer is no.

Two questions:
One, do you have to pay for it monthly like a cell phone.
Two: So if I have a working internet like Quest or AOL I don't have to pay for internet because I'm already paying for a working internet already for the Wifi to connect to, right?
