yes and that is sooooo true i write poetry to the images all the time there are really no words to express the feeling that comes from the images but i try anyway
I have that book of photographs... 1:35 I actually spoke to Mr. Mitchell and he directed me where to purchase it because it is out of production... Mr. Mitchell is a genious.
Thank you so much for this! I first learned of Judith Jamison when I saw her on a Cosby Show rerun back in the mid 1990's. Years later I learned she was not just a "guest star" but an accomplished dancer. It was always a dream of mine, but never a reality, to be an Ailey dancer! LOL! So I live vicariously through clips like these!
Another great interview! Amazing photos. I want that book!
I'm so glad that she made the point of what AIDS did to the dance community. I knew dozens of dancers and choreographers who died of AIDS. A lot of these people were extremely talented, too. Had they lived, many of them would have become major figures in dance.
So true! So many talented wonderful people whose lives were so abruptly ended. I was stunned when Judith Jamison showed me how many Jack had photographed.
A Historic masterpiece for future generations . Their bodies ain't bad either ;-)
