I use it as a gain boost for practice(Guitar->Digitech Hardwire Tube OD->Boss FZ-2->Fender Rumble 15) and also I use it with my main rig (Peavey XXL into a bunch of shit then this pedal). sucker is AWESOME as either a boost to tighten your channel(like TS9) or to boost the level of your amp for solos with a little hint of gain
Hey mate, I used to have one of those pedals. Great sounds if you're into 60's garage and early 90's grunge stuff like Mudhoney, Nirvana, and The Yardbirds. Your playing style rocks, and this was a good effort for your first video broadcast. I'll check out some of your other videos later. :)
I have one in my pedal chain and I love it!!!!!! power chords are awesome on mode II. I payed really cheap for it, around 50 dollars used, it was a punk rock teenage who did not like FZ2 at all.
stupid queston. but is this analog, as it doesn't have that COSM sticker on it? Oh, and, I've been told Fuzz 1 does a good 60's fuzzface, are those people lying?
I bought one when they came out years ago. I dont think they made many for some reason. Maybe it was a bit too complicated with three modes and all.
Sounds good though. Analog sounding and versatile. You can even use it as a booster. I've used it on an acoustic pre with a "Woody" pickup, on bass, on guitar, on a Rhodes, as an effect in a mix. I think I've got my moneys worth. It's awesome for a screaming guitar solo as well.
@coronet67 Anybody want to buy one? I'm selling my fz2, It's in brand new condition, looks and sounds like the day it was made. I never really used it much. I'm more of a blues player and just recentley got into the country scene! The only thing is I'm on Long Island. I have it up for $100 on long island craigslist if you want to see it.
im fucking getting one ive been using digitech pedals then i wasnt happy but i always want to just by boss but band manager likes digitech for some reason so i got a multi effect pedal and it just cant handle high out put in my amp so fuck it im getting boss
I've actually had this pedal for over 10 years, but just recently was asked to do a demo of it. They're around, but you have to look for them. I definitely like the FZ-2 better than the later versions.
A smoother distortion sounds pretty good after the fuzz to round it out a little. E.g. a big muff or tube amp overdrive. Of course you sacrifice a little definition.
I just got one of these. I've only played the FZ-5 in a store, but I think this pedal is a lot better. It's not as subtle, but the fuzz isn't very good on the FZ-5 in my opinion. It's more just bad modeling. But you could try them both out and form your own opinion, I guess.
Somebody should do an a/b with this and the bea bee.

Probably one of the top three "bang for the buck" pedals I've ever bought. It's a clean boost and two different kinds of fuzz, plus a two band EQ.

An eBay search is probably your best bet, I would think.

Can I use the other distotion pedals with this fuzz pedal?
jonfender123 2 years ago
Never tried it, but I don't see why not. It's a very "friendly" pedal compared to older fuzzes in that it doesn't mess with your signal as much.

Nope, sorry. Never played through any of the later models.

Hi ... I have two of these ... have you had a chance to compare the FZ-2 to the newer FZ-5?

Check your levels. There seems to be an awful lot of distortion in your guitar tone!
