  • worst cover ever, can't beat the original, not good lads

  • @2181PHOENIX What "original"? Are you over 100 years old? It's a traditional folk song from the Bahamas. NO ONE knows who the original is! Johnny Cash did a great cover, though, years before the Beach Boys did.

  • @MuckyPup1969 check out van morrison's version-beautiful cover. id be surprised if it doesn't make you cry.

  • Fighi sti quà! From Italy!

  • @yeeyeeyeah Have you grown into more mature and complex bands like...uh...The Foo Fighters...?

  • @greatestxgift Haha "They Might Be Giants" actually. Lol!

  • @yeeyeeyeah

Just means you were never really there my friend.

  • People keep talking about Fat Mike, but they don't mention Chris Shiflett from the Foo Fighters.

  • @yeeyeeyeah If you're going to mention only talk of Fat Mike then why wouldn't you also mention Joey Cape and Dave Raun from Lagwagon and Spike Slawson of Swingin' Utters...or did you just forget them too?

  • @greatestxgift Na, they're just more b-side players. (to me at least) ;) Beach Boys rule!

  • @yeeyeeyeah B-side players? You're 12, aren't you?

  • Respond to this video... Spike's got a super sweet voice though!

  • It's on Blow In The Wind I think.

  • yeah this is on blow in the wind, and at the end of hava nagila christmas version on ruin jonny's bar mitzvah

  • @OnTheLast it;s on blowing in the wind.

  • @OnTheLast It's on Blow In The Wind. The real question is why do you have all the cds of a cover band? Do you have all of Weird Al's albums, too? Ha, just pulling your leg buddy.

  • @DrewBludd This isn't just any cover band, ti's Me First And The Gimme Gimmes! And they cover most classic song, even my parents dig the punk songs now ;)

  • @OnTheLast That's the first sign that something has gone horribly awry.

  • @DrewBludd a sign that civilization is going down the crapper with ron paul and the rest of the tea baggers

  • This one maybe?

    watch?v=EIGwh6II__A

  • @meispunk101 I think this is what you heard: "Billy Jean", punk cover by german band "The Bates" from 1995, you can see/hear it here: watch?v=uQyd1wN-qew

  • @meispunk101

Hey man, I'm sure I had a Billie Jean cover somewhere, was it by a German band called The Bates?

Will try and find it, see if it's the one you remember.....

  • @avinabacca yea i heard that one and I think its the one. It was just labeled wrong on my friends computer

  • @meispunk101 The Bates made a pretty popular punk version of Billy Jean, you might be looking for that one

  • the best cover band ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh god, ramones, i almost crapped myself that was so awesome.

  • Heard it in the movie "Full of it" first time today, and hell it was hard to find it! best version!!

  • Comment removed

  • Best Sloop John B cover. Period.

  • @sadsack987 your brain is rotted through from listening to rap and alternative garbage. this is the WORST cover of a classic song from ancient sailing days and only a loser would trash it like this. people who like it are worse than the losers who trashed it.

  • Hell Yeah!

  • catch 22`s version sucks balls comparred to this one

  • haha, the intro is from the ramones!

  • hmm wonder why :p

  • Haha I was thinking the same thing.

  • They take awesome songs and make them punk awesome.

  • best cover ever!!!

  • Catch 22's sloop John B is better, but nice to hear another version though, me first rocks!

  • Great Stuff! Love for the original song, passion for legendary punk-songs!

  • this rocks you sucks...

  • I really like this cover.

  • :) best band ever !!

  • "Teenage Lobotomy" anyone?

  • Yes, hehe!

But does this band do anything but covers?

  • Not really, their an all-star punk cover band!!!

  • Yes, ok. Do any of them have a band that does original stuff?

(I am too lazy to google them no) :D

  • They all are in big bands

NoFX, Foo Fighters, Swingin' Utters, Lagwagon and go on!

  • Oh, hahahah. I never knew :D

  • @scorsese86 that the homage.

  • @scorsese86 lol yes the gimmie gimmies are known for stealing riffs and putting them in for fills and intros, on this album you can also hear Suspect Device by Stiff Little Fingers for the intro of the longest time, also has a riff from Offspring and Adolescents on other songs which i forget at the moment haha

  • @scorsese86

    They do that a lot..

"On the road again" (from "Love their country") starts like "Astro zombies" from The Misfits.

"Hava nagila" (from "Ruin jonny's bar mitzvah") has a part which sounds like "Come out and play" from The Offspring.

"Favourite things" (from "Are a drag") starts just like "Generator" from Bad Religion.

"You've got a friend" has a part similar to "Blitzkrieg Bop", when they say "You've-got-a friend", sounds like "He-ho, let's go!"

  • @PunxRascaL

they incorperate rifts from other punk bands, or new wave, into thier songs. does not just sound like it, they actually play real riffs. they are fricken brilliant

  • @LoveHamir

Yes, I know! I DO love them.. They're one of my favourtes bands! I'm just saying that they did that a couple of times. It must be just for fun..They're awesome as hell!

  • this cover is great but I prefer the original one

  • great. perfect cover <3. must-have!

  • fucking awesome

  • It is isn't it!!

  • such an awesome version of this song
