  • super techniekken wat zij heeft

  • Urška Hrovat was one of the best Slovenian skiers!!

  • Great video man. Thanks for uploading :)).You are awesome skier :)

  • the slope looks so good! wide and long plus good snow!

  • Nice blonde rubbish instruction!

  • thats so easy

  • @idktht hahahahah

  • go fuck yourself

  • is there any 12 steps telemark like a pro?

  • её зовут Сучка Кровать?!

  • Ahhh...just got home from the slopes...how sweet it is to CARVE baby!

  • Is she ridding on ' Elan wave flex " skis ?

  • Informative and helpful . Thanks .

  • She is from Slovenia. She is retired Slovenian alpine skier.

  • oh sweet lets tip in, rotate like a mofo, and crunch at the wast like a gorrilla.

  • His inside hand is dropping too low and back.

  • @paintballerguy1 ...if skiing is a gay sport, maybe the only thing you can do is playing poker...with cards and fiches you can waste your time. But not with extreme sports my darling... you know...passion, strength, bravery, cleverness... are some of the concepts missing in your dictionary.

  • @Ale7674 did you read his name btw? i dont think its poker he plays, maybe paintballing... i love both so im not gonna say anything, hes just an ass.

  • hi guys,

this is demo skiing, wherefore all movements are over emphasized.

  • @jetskindsoul ...if special slalom is a gay discipline, you're a mother nature's mistake!

  • He's chilling in the backseat a little it looks like. World cup skiers often do that little outside arm push though.

  • yea and than how to stop when u increase speed ? 5/5

  • He is using his body to make the turn.

  • Thanks for the vids!

  • ))))

  • What's with the exaggerated up and down, no expert skis like this? Why is his body swinging into rotation? Very confusing!

  • @skiwhh thats the way it is done. By bringing your body down you will increase the amount of pressure on the ski. The pressure is needed to keep the ski under controle at higher speeds.

If you don,t know this. Then A) you need to try it to improve your skills. B) you are doing it yourself, without knowing you are.

  • Sorry, if you watch slalom on the world cup, that's the way it is done. Not with your exaggerated up extension and rotation movements. You are old fashioned and using out dated techniques.

  • @skiwhh Willem, You don't understand, flexing the legs at the end of the arc, creates unweighting, and a release of the skis. It doesn't add weight to the skis,. Wow, where did you get these ideas? Please watch the world cup skiers, no one is rotating and swinging their arms like in this video.

  • So you,re asking a question at first, then you get an answer. And on top of that you still think you know better?

They must love you at school !

  • As a matter of fact experts do ski like this. First, Mayer has 23 World Cup podiums to his credit and seven WC victories, so he knows what he's doing. Second, this is a video lesson so it's reasonable that he exaggerate a bit the movement up with his hips. Third bringing the hips up puts you in a balanced neutral position to start the new turn, and fourth, his body is not rotating relative to his skis, his upper body remains aligned with his hips throughout the turn.

  • I agree with you. A person can get away with that much upper body/hand movement on a smooth hill. Throw in a few rough section and this technique will put you off balance very quickly.

  • @lamap1 Yes, and if you are taught incorrectly, for later uses of technique for advanced terrain, it's very hard to change when you need a different technique. And you will need a different technique for sure than the one taught here.

  • @lamap1 This guy was once a great racer, I've met him, but he knows little about teaching skiers to ski.

  • сучка херова

  • Found this one, I think this is the best carving I can see on YouTube. " Sofa Ski School - 2008 "

  • Yes I agree Lamap 1. His hand moving up and down too much. Also, he is twisting his upper body too much. If you twist you upper too much you'll properly loosing your edge grip on the hard packed icy snow.

  • woow shes a milf

  • LOL she is

  • @TheDudeAkaTom Ew..

  • @TheDudeAkaTom fuck your own, then

  • @W012248 you really can't do any better than that?

  • I don't like how this person's hands move up and down. I think that is too much up and down with the hands. Not good. watch something else for better learning.

  • first understand that there ARE various styles available.

I think this guy has an awesome. Unlike some pro "carvers" he is skiing with BOTh of his skis, not just with the outer one. The skis are always pararell, from the beginning of the turn to the end. His knees are also apart allowing both skis to be at similar angle. I just don't get when people tell you to put your knees together or onebehind the other. It just doesn't make sense to have two skis at different angles.

  • Hi,

I think that the guy who is skiing is doing way to less with his Hips and to much with the legs.

I miss the Hips coming in.

Cannot explain it exactly in english cause I'm from Europe.

I realy have to upload some actual videos of mine

  • You with your A-frame leg action are better than Christian Mayer?? You must be joking...

No offense, but your sister has a better technique..

How can you compare a racer like Mayer and a fun carver like yourself...

This is not meant only for you....but for all those who are so better than Mayer an ex- world class racer....

  • My sister is exactly doing the same shit like him... I am not talking about racing technique I am talking about Carving and what he and my sister does has nothing to do with a good carving technique both have the same racing technique. I can ski like this to but i don't race anymore and so i do prefer the fun/free carving now cause it looks better and you can carv a lot more different dunno the english word "radius"

  • The advantage of this race carving of mayer who didn't learn this technique from the beginning (whats the reason why there are much better carvers then him) is that you can change your direction a little faster and you gain more speed trough your up and down movement of your upper body.

Pls don't understand me wrong he is a great skiier but todays young professionals have a much better carving techniq cause they learned it from their first ski lessons on.

  • I find it interesting that your first vids have so many views while the last ones have so few. The latter are much better!

  • If these two had a kid, would it be called Ursa Major?

Not too impressed with the skiing actually; most winning racers don't have great form, they have winning form, abrupt and graceless.

  • I agree, theres something not right in his upper body, dont like the way his hand comes right across the fall line at the end of his turns...im sure hed kick my ass tho...

  • what's bothering me is that he's pushing his shoulders down to his knee, instead of letting his knees come up.... i'd love to see how this "pro" skis when you throw in some not perfectly smooth terrain, or a sidehill.

  • I don't see why that's so bad.

It seems like what you want is your body staying at a level and legs going up and down.

That is not right. People may tell you to do that so that your ski doesn't get lifted during the turn. As long as your momentum upwards is slow/gentle enough it's OK to move shoulders.

If your knees are bent ...it should be OK on a not-so-smooth terrain.

  • dont move your shoulders

  • this dude wasnt so good

  • I agree, Is not the best example to propose , see instead MairKlaus clips of sofaskischool on youtube for really learning..that's a great guy!!

  • Hey great to see Urska in this video. She's been retired for some years now from the World Cup, but still active in skiing and teaching. Great.

  • He's got such a good technique, although I suppose the piste is in pretty good nick :P

    Still though, awesome!

  • Second step (Long Carving Turns Control) of 12 steps to ski like a pro is available. Enjoy;)

  • Great video clip. I always wanted to ski like a Pro ;)
