@MrJessicajacob It's a 16v bumper that's had the side vents and number plate recess removed and smoothed, to get one just like this you'd have to take the standard 16v bumper to your local bodywork garage.
@GarryBacon I fitted an electronic solenoid lock to the tailgate which is operated by a button on the dash - so the extra button wouldn't stand out I got an electric sunroof button from another Polo and swapped that for the small blanking plate next to the electric window buttons on this car. I also up-rated the gas struts on the tailgate so that when the boot is unlocked it rises on its own :)
nice polo - spitting image of what i want mine to look like but a few questions - were did u get the wingmirrors and r thay standered bumper that have be smooth'd and how did u do the passanger door handel - thankes
@whitzman13 The wing mirrors are original ones that I modified to hold the LED lights, it took ages to get the shape and fitting right + hiding the wiring in the existing loom, but it was worth it! You're right about the bumpers & the passenger door handle is taken from one of the rear doors on a five door model, simples!
I've got question, does anyone know how to install cables for woofer from accumulator in to trunk? I know how to do that.. but I do not know where to put them, so they won't see out, where to lay it, right or left side... any one knows how?
Cheers pal :) So you want to know where to run the cables for your subwoofer? Reply to this if you're talking about a polo like this one and i'll explain where you'll find the holes that the cable can go through.
@zelvahunter In the passenger footwell you will find a hole just under the dash board that has a rubber bung in it. I'd use a wire coat hanger with a soft tip so as not to damage anything, then push it through the hole into the engine bay with the cable taped to the other end.
Once thats done you can run the cable round the edge of the carpet, remove the plastic trims and you'll find cable clips alredy there - after that you can run the cable under the rear seat and into the back of the car.
Beautifull car. just bought one my self. mines black i would love it to be white. paint job just cost a bit these days. you have done a excellent job. keep it the way it is. dnt do a black roof!!! if anything personally i would do the bonnett. x
@bbishectic Cheers sport :) If a full respray is a bit too costly then you should take a look at a method called 'car wrapping'. What they do is rather than spray the car they cover it in vinyl sheeting, it looks sweet and you can get it done for around £300 if you do it yourself (and it's not too hard) or £600+ to get it done by pros! There are some videos on here of people doing it that might be worth a look.
On the photos your car looks Very nice! the black rims are matched 100% :) red lamps in the back as well match the white color, I don't like the other polo's clear/red lamps the could be smoked clear/ red :) Try to put headlamps with black insides :) that will look awesome :D nice car :)
@stormelite3 I wouldn't like to say but it's a fair bit! If yours is standard one of the cheapest things you can do first is get a badgeless grille for around £30 or take off the bump strips down the side - makes a vast improvement for little money :)
@FizzicalProductions i also want to take off my bump strips on my polo but i removed it a tiny bit and it looks as if it doesnt have paint underneath, or its very rusty, etc. Was yours like this? or just the same as the rest of the paint job?
@mpnmichael VW use some strong double sided tape to put them on when new, if the strips are simply pulled off some of the paint will most certainly come off too. If it seems that the paint is different underneath then the car has either had some paint work done at some stage of life with the bump strip masked out or the exposed paint has dulled with age...
@mpnmichael It's hard to say, depends on so many factors - who's doing it, what the bodywork is like, what level of quality you're going for etc etc. Best bet is to get chatting to local people who've had stuff done and see where they went :)
@mpnmichael ...The best way to remove them is to heat them up with a hair drier to soften the glue and gently scrape between the bump strip and bodywork - DON'T use a hot air gun 'cos you'll burn your paint and DON'T use a metal scrapper 'cos you'll scratch your paint, use a plastic one of a credit card. The main thing is to take your time, to do this job will take ages but it's worth it if you don't want to damage your paint :)
i own a mk5 or a mk4 i think its a mk5 well its red black wheels deep dish lowerd its not a gti but i put a gti grill on it to make it look like one but i soild it to my brother kane :( now i have a mk2 golf in black all standerd bbs rims are the proper ones for mk2 golf
ive just got my polo man i cant wait to get started on it, wats the cheapest i could get a decent paint job for dya reckon? and whats the tune after night G? n1
@ryan1111111555555555 You'll get what you pay for really, and it depends on who's doing the work too. If you spend peanuts you'll get monkeys! Best bet is to shop around and see what you can find in your local area, you can save some cash by doing some of the prep work yourself. (The 2nd tune's called Under The Sun)
@FizzicalProductions i own a red one if you do not know wich mk im on about because i dont know wich mk it is just click on the video saying volkswagen polo 6n because thats the shape i have
No build thread I'm afraid, but I owned this car for about a year before having all the work done in August 2009. Before it was pretty much a standard UK spec model.
very tidy polo mate

KillerKlous 1 year ago
@KillerKlous Christ, not another one. This can be solved in 4 easy steps..
STEP 1: Go on Google images.
STEP 2: Type in Polo MK 1, then Polo MK 2, then Polo MK 3, then Polo MK 4.
STEP 3: Discover this is indeed a Polo MK 4.
STEP 4: Realise you're the dumbass.
