He wants it because he knows that if you do not receive forgiveness for sins you will not be with him in eternity, and He doesn't want that because He loves you. Also, I believe the reason we have emotions is because God does and we reflect God. He feels angry, sad, happy... that sort of thing. It doesn't make him not God. Actually those things make us more like God.

The theory is that they can be artificially created and made to be alive, and they may exhibit some "life-like" qualities as you said, but they are not alive. So as far as we know, life cannot be created from non-living material. The issue here is that it takes faith to believe some scientific theories, such as that the universe broke its own laws and came to be out of nothing, and it takes faith just the same to believe in a creator.
