Going on walks to calm the brain activity is interesting. Thinking how it forces the motor functioning part of the brain to work.
INTPs at least have the patience to think of the irrationality of people as eccentric and maybe comic rather than doing a slow burn or getting frustrated.
I give INTJs a lot of slack and can understand where the anger comes from as this is the rarest type.
I find myself researching day in and day out, 24/7! I also don't really care about why other people think, and not just of me but in general. And I have little to no emotions, my grandpa died and I didn't even think too much about, and not a tear either. I also am always upstairs (in my head) figuring things out, and why people and things are certain ways.
I'm an INTJ Mastermind and I'm the same way about employment. I'm 36 and I've had tons of jobs. I learn everything then get bored and move on fairly quickly. Sadly, my love life is about the same. And yeah typically all introverts need time alone to get away so they can recharge. Excellent video.
"I'm an INTJ but i dont feel like dominating the world and i have a lot of friends and i enjoy going out blah blah blah..." Hmm? That doesnt sound like it at all...
what you said about the relationship part is so true, i can not have a girl friend for more then 1 month. I get bored easily and love my own space maybe more then the girl friend ? My girl friends always claim that i'm not into the relationship as much as they are, or i don't care about them. Which is not true at all, and as much as i try to explain my personality they just don't get it and we argue. I think i'm done with women, they only complicate my life it seems.
"One emotion we feel pretty well"... anger... "anger!" Ahhh I got a good chuckle out of that one. Thanks for sharing this video. I found out that I was an INTJ yesterday.
Wow, I've heard information about INTJs before, but I had no idea JUST how much of my personality was an INTJ thing... I didn't know that other INTJs are sort of emotionless except for anger. I thought that was just me. And we really do get bored of jobs, or any time we've learned all there is to learn about a system and mastered it. It's no longer interesting or worth our time.
This video is amazing. I am an ITNJ, and agree with all the characteristics that you mentioned. I started laughing when you made the comment about when you were young and you had the stores on speed-dial, i thought i was the only kid that did that lol :-)
Im an enfj, and i dont think i'll be in a relationship with an intj anytime soon...(no offence!!). Its just im very big at emotions a d rships etc. Had a relationship with an istj once and that was really tough.
I'm an INTJ with ADHD. I used to think I was an INTP and thus the video I made, which you can check out if you like. Your description describes me perfectly. I don't think I have a strong Judging preference either. I thought I was a P because I was messy and constantly late, but apparently this isn't necessarily a P trait! I've always been extremely competitive and assertive, which causes me problems as a female. I am expected to be caring and loving, but I'm not. Thanks for the vid, bro. :)
It pains me how accurate this video is to my own personality. I too am an INTJ, but hadn't the slightest idea how much until I saw this video. Excellent job in explaining the personality type!
I'm still unsure as to whether I'm an 'INTJ' or an 'INFJ'. I know there are distinct differences, but at times I find it easy to tap into my emotions. I am certainly an introvert and an intuition type.
I can definitely relate to the money thing though, it's not important. I enjoy thinking about things most of the time. Thinking WHY is this the way it is and then doing TONS of research.
You are awesome too... because you are just like me ;p
But, heck yes! I totally dig the break down. One keyword I loved was "research". We make sure we know what the fuck we are talking about, and we love to understand what the fuck other people are talkin bout!
Awesome, survivalists that hold grudges without fail. You explained me exactly. It's good that the INTJ's are getting networked. I am a solid J but borderline with E. If my position in the enviroment changed me to an E I will always remember my INTJ brethern. Great video.
Also to those who speak of laziness: When dealing with NT types, most laziness can simply be explained by depression or illnesses a like. The main traits associated with all NT types doesn't exactly allow someone who is mentally healthy to be specifically lazy. I've read psychologists that argue that in order to develop into an adult tested NT, you almost always will have needed to have lead a childhood of pursuits, be it knowledge or sports or whatever.
When I'm in a "healthy" frame of mind I engage in multiple pursuits and set goals which normally appear ridiculously high to others however I normally achieve them. When I'm depressed I just want to drink to block out the self criticism and self doubt as to why I failed. (The depression normally caused by a failure to achieve a goal set out).
you sound like me. lets be drinking buddies. I don't sugar coat shit either. Shit will always taste like shit. No matter how much whip cream or sprinkles are put on it. hahaha!
As for the touchy feely issue I Definatly avoid this until I can trust someone. For example I made little physical contact or emotional communication with the girl I had been dating (who I am now in a relationship with) but once we had established we were in a relationship I was all over her more so than anyone she has been with. Emotional communication is still something I have to work on though lol.
I'm a strong INTJ scored 85% and above for each letter. One thing I found strange was that I have high self confidence in that I look at myself and my ideas and believe they are correct but when talking to people i.e find myself in situations where I'm required to be extroverted, I lack that confidence for feeling like what I'm going to say or do will sound weird or stupid because my thoughts are so far removed from the majority of other peoples thoughts.
@AhzekAhriman1 Sounds more P than J but typically if you are scoring strong on the I over the E, this could explain it too. I personally am 60/40 for introvert vs. extrovert and don't exactly experience what you are talking about. Yes, many times people misunderstand me and the point I am trying to make. This simply motivates me to further convince them.
Thing is though once I get pissed off when someone puts down my thoughts or ideas I hammer them consistently until they give up. I question every part of the logic behind their thoughts until they either can't come up with something or say something stupid like "it doesn't have to be logical' then I know Iv'e won. Then I slip back into the background and observe again.
I remember with my gf we were arguing about the validity of IQ tests and out of nowhere I just blurted out why her opinion was stupid and illogical and she was completely dumbstruck and couldn't find the words to continue on lol.
i'm an intj. i've grown up with an estp father, istj mother, esfp sister and estp brother. my whole life it's been "let's go do this!, let's go do that!" with my dad, "don't do that!, do it like this!" with my mom, "why do you have to be like this?, when are you going to that?" with my sister, and "come and play this! show me how to do that!" with my brother. i just wanna be left alone!!! :(
4:40 I think what you considered "fun" in researching prices comes down to the fact that deep down inside, you like everything to be structured and organized than facing uncertainty... which is as an INTJ myself, seem to be the "problem" that I'm having. If I don't know if I can get a lower price of an item I'm going to buy, it bothers me. Quite a bit.
I'm a female INTJ and I totally relate to a lot of what you said. I usually try and be polite- suffering through small talk but it is PAINFUL and I avoid it. Hate the phone for that exact reason. I can talk about the meaning of life for three days straight but if one more person asks me about "The Bachelor" I might lose it. Very few things upset me- but reality tv is one of them. Nothing pisses me off like being manipulated by the media or by other people.
Learned alot about my self through this and saw a lot of similarities. I sometimes look weird to my friends because If I don't know a word I usually look it up in an online dictionary and I usually look up reviews on things before I buy them. I also look at ratings of movies that I'm about to watch before watching them to know if it's worth my time. Also the thing about anger. I usually stay calm but I get mad at the weirdest things and when I get mad I freak out and hit people but it's rare.
Hey! I liked your video! Sounds exactly like my dad, lol. I would say relationships are definitely his downfall. Me being an INFP, relationships are kinda a big deal to me and I'm pretty dang sensitive (my downfall!!!). I have a really hard time dealing with him. Any ideas on how to get him to respect my feelings? I think he doesn't understand or respect anything that doesn't have a logical objective foundation. You probably don't sympathise all that much...but PLEASE!!! Help if you can!! lol.
I value intelligence and I give my respect to anyone who has shown me that they are able to substain an intelligent conversation. I hate people who are lazy and people who like short-talks. I prefer to be direct and get right into what i want to talk about. Usually INTJ's dont have emotions or they supress them a lot, so we are invulnerable to emotional conversations most of the time(emotional conversations bore me to death).
My dad is the same way. He hates laziness and small-talk. I also hate small-talk. He's really uncomfortable with feelings. The fact that I have such deep emotions and am very aware of them causes him to automatically call me a worthless bipolar freak (among other things lol) but I think the ironic thing about it is that he doesn't see that his dismissal of me comes from his frustration/anger which is a feeling. But I overheard him tell somone I impressed him with my intelligence...??
@AgentCarter Yes they are low but the average on that test is usually around 50's to be considered stable. I heard that accuracy can increase the second time you take it. If you still have difficulties deciding check this website out personalitypathways.(com)/type_inventory.html and be honest to yourself.
@AgentCarter Still can’t make up your mind, if you relate a lot to the video then I would say INTJ. If you aren’t an INTJ don’t be upset. Being an INTJ’s at times is very difficult (just go to INTJforum and see for yourself).
@Hawkx101 no ive taken the test multiple times from humanmetrics months apart, and i always get INTJ, and the descriptions of INTJs are always very accurate.
still, i think i may be somewhat of an INTJ/INFJ hybrid, thought part of me WISHes i could be an ENTJ or an ENFJ
i dont relate that much to this video though because i dont feel like this guy accurately depicts INTJs and their problems. i dont buy this whole "no feelings" thing at all.
By the way i am extremely private. I usually never post anything on youtube, So I would understand if you dont continue with the videos but i think you should. On top of that the emotionless part is definitely true, i cant stand it when my mother tries to hug me or kiss me. I like privacy and personal space...
Im an INTJ as well, i over load myself in academics. My math teachers have also complemented me on how I have natural talents in math. I usually dont like to speak especially small talks, unless its related to science or math. I just want to correct you you said that we have a difficult time getting into relationships. In general that true but the reason why is that we think too rationally. We dont have place for feelings as youve said but rationallity is what rules our life.
i'm an intj but with a low thinking. though generally, i'd say socialising/relationships isn't a problem - intj's are a rare type statistically speaking. therefore it's harder to socialise as people like to socialise with like-minded people. also if you dont oversocialise then socialising can be fun. we're just more critical of other people without even actually purposefully being critical therefore socialising is more of a drain if we dont back out when it feels bad. gota be wid right people.
I'm an INTJ, and I really enjoyed this video! But I'd like to point out the differences between "introversion" and "shyness."Introversion refers to the tendency to get inspiration from inside oneself as apposed to from the outside world, and the liking of working alone.Just because a person is introverted doesn't mean they're shy. INTJ are not all complete shut-ins who never leave the house. And an INTJ can actually be great in relationships because of our willingness to "work on" things.
From one INTJ to another: marry me, you sexy thing ;)
I find that a lot of the "INTJs" on some of the forums are hard to relate to. Because I agree that they're mis-typed, they kind of... pervert, for lack of a better word, what we're actually like. But you remind me a lot of myself. I liked what you said about being a survivalist because it is usually easy for me to interact with other people, it's just a chore because it involves so much pretending and is such an expense of energy.
@scheduality I agree, I think INTJ's being rare and sometimes having the 'Mastermind' link and the 'aloof' link, a lot of truly arrogant people want to use it as an excuse. It's not the be all and end all to a person, and it's easily misdiagnosed, even by a professional sociologist literally telling you the results of therapy and /or testing. We are not obnoxious know it alls, as a rule or excuse and we're not all obvious Math/Science wizzes.
I am an INTJ female and have watched several videos on our personality type. It seems to me, and this is in conformity with my own heart, that INTJs are emotional people, and that emotion can run deep, it's just we have an aversion to sharing or displaying that emotion, often to a fault. It has been great hearing others with my personality type talk about it; for years I've always felt weird or different and now I know why :)
Absolutely perfect, I couldn't think of a better way to put it myself. I personally tend to spend a lot of time thinking about the grand scheme of things in terms of humanity, which gets me researching a lot into religion, cults, how we as a race have done things in the past and how I feel we'll end up in the future. A lot of people find it weird that a 17 year old's favourite book is The God Delusion by Dawkins, or even that a 17 year old HAS a favourite book, but I guess that's just society.
Though I tend to consider that putting people into categories based on 4 categories (I think it's a bit artificial), I scored INTJ and tend to agree with you. However, you seem to fall into stereotypes sometimes (for the confidence aspect for example, you are right though anyone can suffer from a lack of confidence based on their personal history). MBTI seems interesting but a bit too general to be truly accurate but your point of view is interestingly close to mine so... well, may be true !
@Dahelmaeth I agree. I've taken the tests several times over the last few years and I almost always score INTJ and I'm surprised by how often I see people acting like their score as an INTJ is a badge of honor. I would think people who fit that kind of profile would more often be critical of the flaws of MBTI and Jungian psychology than I observe them to be. I also dont understand why they tout around such a title when their profile suggests rejection of labels and authority favoring only logic.
@TheEpisteme From what I've read, online testing or any kind of testing isn't truly accurate. Introspection and learning about the system is the only way to avoid being mistyped though and, of course, there's no real unity between the types, it's just an indicator of how one function. By the way, online testing tend to be biased, many people will end up being iNtuitive when they really are sensors. J & P are badly tested as well. Learning about functions is better but you still have to be critic
@TheEpisteme By the way, I really think that people who are new with psychological concepts tend to take them for granted, the general descriptions and honorific names probably make them feel better about themselves (being called a mastermind instead of an arsehole). Plus, people are not always true to themselves when they take a test (Barnum Effect, subjectivity, need to be better). The description makes INTJ seem intelligent and critical, doesn't mean that all of those who score INTJ will be.
I just recently found out I was an INTJ, and it feels like I am the ugly duckling finally finding out why I am different. What you said was spot and and I thank you for that.
After watching this video I don't think I wanna be an INTJ. If that's how my general manner appears to people than I shall resolve to be a more social creature. Although, I may be on the net now, that party is starting to call to me this weekend. We can't be that heartless, can we?
i am an INTJ with high in all ratings (maxed on T and J). most people think i am an extrovert, but they don't realize that i studied human communication and relationships in depth. like most INTJ's i am very proficient when it comes to scientific understanding and in my case part of that understanding is human interactions through the field of biology (specifically evolutionary traits of social animals).
Fellow INTJ here: Great video, I was literally nodding at times. I also have moderate J; I think that's very common with INTJs, possibly because the tests test J badly, and our personalities make us care less about stereotypical J things (for instance, we're not usually as organized as ISTJs).
I'm a female INTJ and your video really put things into perspective in a nice straightforward manner. I almost want to send this video to my co-workers who have a hard time understanding me, and my ways. They always tell me they're amazed by my perspective, but think I can be a bit uncaring, and cold. I look forward to more videos from you.
(contd) I'm so thankful for the MBTI tool - now I know that I'm quite all right. I'm not like those ESFJ/ESFP society girls, and it's ok. I've got my own mind. Thanks for putting up this video, really appreciated it! :)
(contd) Forced myself to hug others, share feelings, hide my thoughts, in the company of other girls, and tried to fit in. Later I realized how fake this was, and how much it was affecting my potential and happiness. I just couldn't relate with other girls, and it killed me. Culturally, being female, introverted, and 'cold' didn't deem well societally, and I think I lost out on some of my life trying to be who I was not.
I'm an INTJ (female), and really appreciated your video! I went into engineering in undergrad, and I'm now studying medicine. As a child, I understood that being female, being an INTJ was going to be tough. I didn't fit in with the other girls, and I didn't have much interaction with guys...and ended up feeling very lonely, isolated, and felt as if something was wrong, especially in high school. So I went to the other extreme, and found myself forcing excessive emotions. (contd)
In consideration to the discussion about multiple jobs and lack of long term interest 5:35, would going into advertising be a good field for an INTJ due the many different projects (if successful)?
@CaelestisPeste Well, I'm INTJ myself, and I do agree with the majority of what Jimbo3306 says, and like he says, the second you figure out everything about anything, it no longer holds interest for you.
Point is, so long as it SPEAKS to your PASSION, then go with it, and as for whether it's a good field, only you can figure that (and thence yourself) out. I myself have a long abiding interest in film and television studies, and at 31 (aiya!) I'm going to try my hardest to follow my passion.
It worked. I agree with just about everything you said except for the fact I am interested deeply in science. I was laughing to myself because everything you said reminded me of myself.
Cool man, fellow INTJ here. I agree with the small talk thing, not only because I find it to be absolutely pointless (maybe because we naturally assume rapport with people and because we are so independent, we don't require as much 'grooming' as others so we literally just treat others how we want to be treated) but also because I don't really learn much, or gain much insight. Find it much easier to talk to strangers and learn something new than people I already know about. Great stuff dude.
Nice video. As a fellow INTJ(who's also in between J and P), I agree with you on so many of your points especially that we look at the world with as realist. We're always think about why the world works the way it does and realize that the world isn't the greatest place but it doesn't entirely suck either.
I'm not sure about the whole anger issue. I find that I'm a pretty relaxed person so I don't piss people off since it can be hard to make friends.
Thank you, 4 this realistic view. I hate the ones that make us look evil. I am learning some of the social niceties. It seems to make things run smoother. It is still hard work and feels like a game. Tested INFJ for long while, but I my caring about people often feels forced, and I had to learn empathy from a book for my job. I don't connect with people well. I also tend to talk too technically over people's heads. I research constantly. I had anger issues, but now I get out in nature.
Im an INTJ! and yes I have problems with anger...I mean it would take ALOT!!! for someone to truly anger me. hitting me..do something to my stuff is nothing to me. I mean someone would have to do something spectacular to me to get me truly upset
Brilliant video mate, from a INTJ. I do agree with a lot of what you have to say. I'm not so much a angry individual although as you point out I don't really have different levels of anger I'm either neutral or enraged (which I guess is the point you were trying to make). I also have to know something if i didn't prior to coming across it. I'm constantly on Wikipedia (although i recognize it isn't a brilliant source).
21-year-old INTJ here. Regarding your emotions comment: I agree, we do have a quick anger switch. (My main emotions are happiness and 'anger'.) ... But I think my counselor said it best, "Anger is not an emotion, it's a side-effect of an emotion."
The way I like to think about my emotions is that I have a very high threshold. Once I feel an emotion, it means it's been latent for quite some time, so I react strongly to it.
I'm a 31-yo intj. I don't know what state you live in, but in MIssouri, man, I understand ya.
A lot of people are against me because I am gay and, honestly, I challenge it where I live in the St. Louis area. Ya know... it's the South sometimes.. I like people to just be nice. ya know... people don't understand how great we are and how friendly we are.
I hope you listen to the God Delusion. And your viewpoint is good here.
Hello, I'm IxTP and to me you seem INTJ, though being very close to INTP. Try also a test in Russian Socionics. The fact of being bored easily points rather out to INTP than INTJ. Ask yourself onething: Do you like to go directly to the essentials and taking short-cuts (INTJ), or are you your best advocatus diaboli? (INTP)
I'm an INTJ. I find it tiresome socialising, but as you said we seem very able to adapt and do whatever we think is neccessary to fit in (as much as we want to anyway). I never knew about the MBTI test before, and now I think I finally understand why I am the way I am. I have recently been very depressed about my 'lack' of social skills, and I had convinced myself that I was incompetent, when really I was subconsiously just uninterested in most of what was going on in terms of conversation.
It is very interesting that you mentioned your Judging score was low, because your nonverbal communication suggests you are actually an IxTP. The way you are describing yourself also seems to be a bit INTP-ish (once I learned everything I had to, I quit...I'm always between jobs), but that just confirms. I am not very well versed in this yet, but I have a *very* strong hunch. Have you read the INTP and ISTP descriptions?
Your limited understanding isn't alleged, it's demonstrated (by you). Now, once again, instead of attacking my argument you attack me personally.
Since you seem to so favor simply reading things, read up on some of the symptoms of INTJ preferences and you might find a bit about how it is not uncommon for us to have LOW TOLERANCE FOR POOR ARGUMENTS, much like your own, logically absent one.
I don't mean this in any kind of INTJ elitez0rz way, but you seem to be primarily drawing your conclusions directly from solid fact sources, a function that would probably be that of sensor. It looks to me like a lot of the time you're trying to recall the information as you read it.
@spoonydanger Out of all of the functions, I believe S/N to be that hardest to type in a person by simply hearing them speak. Situations must always be taken as face value and this is why I believe many INTJs score less dramatically on their N - not because our iNtuition is low, but because we have developed Sense. I personally score very balanced between S/N, however I would never ever call myself an ISTJ. TL;DR, just because Demetri sounds S does not mean his very internal thoughts are S.
@sekirei9823 I wasn't referring to the "sound" of his voice, but rather on the flow of his explanation, if it could be said that there is such a thing. The information he's saying is almost entirely paraphrased from other sources, rather than conclusions drawn on his own.
That said, the way I would have done it as an INTJ would be to draw my own conclusions and then use sources to back up my conclusions, or more likely just leave you to rationalize whether or not I'm right.
I think the N/S are probably the easiest to type. Where someone is drawing information can be inferred through their speech and there are even some common physical mannerisms for N/S.
A person with an N preference tends to draw from imagination, and will often let their eyes wander about as they speak. An S preference might be more inclined to keep eye direction regular (as their attention would be focused more on their sight) and draw from recall memory.
@spoonydanger I am very much an N, but depending on the circumstances of a setting, I will react with heightened Senses, because quite frankly, jumping to conclusions based on gut feelings alone when dealing with other people around you, often of whom are S types, would be an unwise move. As he put it, INTJs are survivalists, and adapt accordingly, even if that means making our types with a facade to appease those around us should we be in a position that requires us to.
It seems like you don't accept that INTJ is merely how we are catagorized and that none of us is completely perfect in our expression of each pole, neither should we be expected nor obligated to.
As for "hearing him speak", I did not mean the vibration of his voice. In fact, I don't acknowledge the flow of his explanation either. Being introverted, some of us can't verbalize at all. If I spoke in voice, it would sound ridiculous and my thoughts would be erratic. I'm an xSFP when I speak.
@sekirei9823 Umm, you don't seem to understand that people are often mistyped. As an INTJ, I'm usually able to pretty easily articulate my point. Being Introverted doesn't mean you aren't a good conversationalist. You haven't even attempted to disprove my reasoning, Mr.INTJ.
Based on your ridiculous bit about how you're an ISFP when you speak, you clearly have a limited understanding of the typology as a whole.
I suggest you do a little more reflection and a little less reading. You're ISTJ
@spoonydanger Despite my alleged "limited understanding" and regardless of personalty types, you seem very immature and the extent of your hastiness is not only surprising, but worrisome.
Fun fact: INTJs are the most likely to google search their personality types.
I like a lot of this video but honastly it better to just google it. Personality Page is my favorite and it helps you learn a lot of you, your relationships with people, what kind of parent you'l be ect. Sorry to spam, this vid is great, you def are an intj (loved how you dropped the "socialization" card thats a personal favorite of mine.
Other fun fact: INTJs are naturally prone to sarcasm. =]
Good video, definitely hear ya with the multiple job thing. Same here, never fired, just keep job-hopping. I have been learning to temper some of the harsh edges of INTJ as I get older just to help life go a little more smoothly (and eventually find a wife maybe someday :).
hahaha.. loved the vid. fellow INTJ lady. I research to death too!
I don't think most INTJs change jobs frequently. However, if they don't believe the place they work is up to their 'standards' they will not enjoy working there. They NEED a challenge work-wise.
I've been much more in tune with my emotions these past 6 months. I can feel myself maturing and balancing on an emotional level. It is still a challenge, but getting better.
Getting out for us isn't like going out and hanging with friends or parties like most people. I love being alone, but I can't stay in the house too long or I go bonkers. I'm an outdoors person and I like "getting out" to the backyard and parks, but still being alone. If I'm approached by an extrovert while I'm "out" on my alone time it really annoys me. Yeah so I get angry about that. There's a good example of my agner. I'm out here alone for a reason. Go away. Hehe darn extroverts.
Hi there. Thanks for the plug. I liked your video and agreed with what you said. Yes, anger drives us. It's not like, "rawr I'm so angry I'm a monster now, watch out!" That's what everyone things of when they think of anger. I think some INTJ's are afraid to admit they feel anger. Annoyance is a form of anger. If someone does anger us we don't warn them, we back off to think of how to get revenge. Just one little thing. My name: Des sounds like Mess. Oh and the getting out thing. I'll continue..
Well said. Now as an INTJ New Yorker, life here is quite stressful for me. To start, I don't care much about nightlife here. What purpose lounges serve? Even if you chat, the music's too loud to say anything. I'm also quite annoyed onto how cellphones dominated the world. I only carry a cellphone for emergencies or the time. People text always, as if they can't be alone with themselves for a minute. I've had 5 jobs my whole life, so I don't think it's an INTJ thing to change jobs a lot.
I'm an INTJ, but over the last month I found, that this is just a symptom for the real problem, for me the real problem seems to be "avoidant personality disorder". INTJs should look it up on wiki.
I agree with pretty much everything except the anger part... I rarely display anger. It just seems kind of like primitive, idiotic, immature thing to do (for me at least.) How do other INTJs feel about this?
@PhotoExtremist for me it´s an inside anger. i usually don´t admit my anger, don´t bring it to conscious, but I tend to feel that people are being over-inadequade, and it annoys me.
Cool video man!

I'm an INTJ Mastermind and I'm the same way about employment. I'm 36 and I've had tons of jobs. I learn everything then get bored and move on fairly quickly. Sadly, my love life is about the same. And yeah typically all introverts need time alone to get away so they can recharge. Excellent video.

what you said about the relationship part is so true, i can not have a girl friend for more then 1 month.

I found out that I was an INTJ yesterday.
sevishmusic 2 months ago
Wow, I've heard information about INTJs before, but I had no idea JUST how much of my personality was an INTJ thing... I didn't know that other INTJs are sort of emotionless except for anger. I thought that was just me. And we really do get bored of jobs, or any time we've learned all there is to learn about a system and mastered it. It's no longer interesting or worth our time.

Also to those who speak of laziness: When dealing with NT types, most laziness can simply be explained by depression or illnesses a like. The main traits associated with all NT types doesn't exactly allow someone who is mentally healthy to be specifically lazy. I've read psychologists that argue that in order to develop into an adult tested NT, you almost always will have needed to have lead a childhood of pursuits, be it knowledge or sports or whatever.
y0xHitxThatxChanxGuy 8 months ago
When I'm in a "healthy" frame of mind I engage in multiple pursuits and set goals which normally appear ridiculously high to others however I normally achieve them. When I'm depressed I just want to drink to block out the self criticism and self doubt as to why I failed. (The depression normally caused by a failure to achieve a goal set out).

JToussaint08 8 months ago
As for the touchy feely issue I Definatly avoid this until I can trust someone. For example I made little physical contact or emotional communication with the girl I had been dating (who I am now in a relationship with) but once we had established we were in a relationship I was all over her more so than anyone she has been with. Emotional communication is still something I have to work on though lol.
AhzekAhriman1 8 months ago
I'm a strong INTJ scored 85% and above for each letter. One thing I found strange was that I have high self confidence in that I look at myself and my ideas and believe they are correct but when talking to people i.e find myself in situations where I'm required to be extroverted, I lack that confidence for feeling like what I'm going to say or do will sound weird or stupid because my thoughts are so far removed from the majority of other peoples thoughts.
AhzekAhriman1 8 months ago
@AhzekAhriman1 Sounds more P than J but typically if you are scoring strong on the I over the E, this could explain it too. I personally am 60/40 for introvert vs. extrovert and don't exactly experience what you are talking about. Yes, many times people misunderstand me and the point I am trying to make. This simply motivates me to further convince them.
y0xHitxThatxChanxGuy 8 months ago
Thing is though once I get pissed off when someone puts down my thoughts or ideas I hammer them consistently until they give up. I question every part of the logic behind their thoughts until they either can't come up with something or say something stupid like "it doesn't have to be logical' then I know Iv'e won. Then I slip back into the background and observe again.

Quite a bit.
jsiszero 8 months ago
I'm a female INTJ and I totally relate to a lot of what you said. I usually try and be polite- suffering through small talk but it is PAINFUL and I avoid it. Hate the phone for that exact reason. I can talk about the meaning of life for three days straight but if one more person asks me about "The Bachelor" I might lose it. Very few things upset me- but reality tv is one of them. Nothing pisses me off like being manipulated by the media or by other people.
di2981 8 months ago
Learned alot about my self through this and saw a lot of similarities. I sometimes look weird to my friends because If I don't know a word I usually look it up in an online dictionary and I usually look up reviews on things before I buy them. I also look at ratings of movies that I'm about to watch before watching them to know if it's worth my time. Also the thing about anger. I usually stay calm but I get mad at the weirdest things and when I get mad I freak out and hit people but it's rare.

Any ideas on how to get him to respect my feelings? I think he doesn't understand or respect anything that doesn't have a logical objective foundation. You probably don't sympathise all that much...but PLEASE!!! Help if you can!! lol.

@MyVeryBlueSky
As an INTJ
I value intelligence and I give my respect to anyone who has shown me that they are able to substain an intelligent conversation. I hate people who are lazy and people who like short-talks. I prefer to be direct and get right into what i want to talk about. Usually INTJ's dont have emotions or they supress them a lot, so we are invulnerable to emotional conversations most of the time(emotional conversations bore me to death).
Hawkx101 8 months ago
@Hawkx101
MyVeryBlueSky 8 months ago
You're definately an INTJ. I had 11% (I), 65% (N), 50% (T) and 33% (J) as general numbers, they always stay around those values. What were yours?
dreamsquare123 9 months ago
@dreamsquare123
My scores are
I(89)N(100)T(100)J(67) = INTJ

Hawkx101 8 months ago
@Hawkx101 Wow, high scores. Does that mean you're "more" of an INTJ than I am?

AgentCarter 8 months ago
@AgentCarter Google humanmetrics or similar minds jung. Both these tests are fairly accurate.
Hawkx101 8 months ago
@Hawkx101 thats the one i took, i was wondering more if you had taken it in a non-onternet medium
but i was also surprised to see how high your numbers were
mine was about I 25, N 50, T 10, J 50 from the humanmetrics one
AgentCarter 8 months ago
@AgentCarter Yes they are low but the average on that test is usually around 50's to be considered stable. I heard that accuracy can increase the second time you take it. If you still have difficulties deciding check this website out personalitypathways.(com)/type_inventory.html and be honest to yourself.
Hawkx101 8 months ago
@AgentCarter Still can’t make up your mind, if you relate a lot to the video then I would say INTJ. If you aren’t an INTJ don’t be upset. Being an INTJ’s at times is very difficult (just go to INTJforum and see for yourself).
Hawkx101 8 months ago
@Hawkx101 no ive taken the test multiple times from humanmetrics months apart, and i always get INTJ, and the descriptions of INTJs are always very accurate.
still, i think i may be somewhat of an INTJ/INFJ hybrid, thought part of me WISHes i could be an ENTJ or an ENFJ
i dont relate that much to this video though because i dont feel like this guy accurately depicts INTJs and their problems. i dont buy this whole "no feelings" thing at all.
AgentCarter 8 months ago
By the way i am extremely private. I usually never post anything on youtube, So I would understand if you dont continue with the videos but i think you should.

MrInconspicuous13 10 months ago

I liked what you said about being a survivalist because it is usually easy for me to interact with other people, it's just a chore because it involves so much pretending and is such an expense of energy.
scheduality 10 months ago 4

It has been great hearing others with my personality type talk about it; for years I've always felt weird or different and now I know why :)
sarahaudrey03 10 months ago
Absolutely perfect, I couldn't think of a better way to put it myself. I personally tend to spend a lot of time thinking about the grand scheme of things in terms of humanity, which gets me researching a lot into religion, cults, how we as a race have done things in the past and how I feel we'll end up in the future. A lot of people find it weird that a 17 year old's favourite book is The God Delusion by Dawkins, or even that a 17 year old HAS a favourite book, but I guess that's just society.
TheJorjj 10 months ago
Though I tend to consider that putting people into categories based on 4 categories (I think it's a bit artificial), I scored INTJ and tend to agree with you. However, you seem to fall into stereotypes sometimes (for the confidence aspect for example, you are right though anyone can suffer from a lack of confidence based on their personal history). MBTI seems interesting but a bit too general to be truly accurate but your point of view is interestingly close to mine so... well, may be true !
Dahelmaeth 11 months ago
@Dahelmaeth I agree. I've taken the tests several times over the last few years and I almost always score INTJ and I'm surprised by how often I see people acting like their score as an INTJ is a badge of honor. I would think people who fit that kind of profile would more often be critical of the flaws of MBTI and Jungian psychology than I observe them to be. I also dont understand why they tout around such a title when their profile suggests rejection of labels and authority favoring only logic.
TheEpisteme 10 months ago
@TheEpisteme From what I've read, online testing or any kind of testing isn't truly accurate. Introspection and learning about the system is the only way to avoid being mistyped though and, of course, there's no real unity between the types, it's just an indicator of how one function. By the way, online testing tend to be biased, many people will end up being iNtuitive when they really are sensors. J & P are badly tested as well. Learning about functions is better but you still have to be critic
Dahelmaeth 10 months ago
@TheEpisteme By the way, I really think that people who are new with psychological concepts tend to take them for granted, the general descriptions and honorific names probably make them feel better about themselves (being called a mastermind instead of an arsehole). Plus, people are not always true to themselves when they take a test (Barnum Effect, subjectivity, need to be better). The description makes INTJ seem intelligent and critical, doesn't mean that all of those who score INTJ will be.

So I went to the other extreme, and found myself forcing excessive emotions. (contd)

I'm into activism... it's crucial to me.

It is a shame ppl that don't know INTJ's don't watch these video's.

Since you seem to so favor simply reading things, read up on some of the symptoms of INTJ preferences and you might find a bit about how it is not uncommon for us to have LOW TOLERANCE FOR POOR ARGUMENTS, much like your own, logically absent one.
spoonydanger 1 year ago
I don't mean this in any kind of INTJ elitez0rz way, but you seem to be primarily drawing your conclusions directly from solid fact sources, a function that would probably be that of sensor. It looks to me like a lot of the time you're trying to recall the information as you read it.
spoonydanger 1 year ago
@spoonydanger Out of all of the functions, I believe S/N to be that hardest to type in a person by simply hearing them speak. Situations must always be taken as face value and this is why I believe many INTJs score less dramatically on their N - not because our iNtuition is low, but because we have developed Sense. I personally score very balanced between S/N, however I would never ever call myself an ISTJ. TL;DR, just because Demetri sounds S does not mean his very internal thoughts are S.
sekirei9823 1 year ago
@sekirei9823 I wasn't referring to the "sound" of his voice, but rather on the flow of his explanation, if it could be said that there is such a thing. The information he's saying is almost entirely paraphrased from other sources, rather than conclusions drawn on his own.
That said, the way I would have done it as an INTJ would be to draw my own conclusions and then use sources to back up my conclusions, or more likely just leave you to rationalize whether or not I'm right.
spoonydanger 1 year ago
I think the N/S are probably the easiest to type. Where someone is drawing information can be inferred through their speech and there are even some common physical mannerisms for N/S.
A person with an N preference tends to draw from imagination, and will often let their eyes wander about as they speak. An S preference might be more inclined to keep eye direction regular (as their attention would be focused more on their sight) and draw from recall memory.
tl;dr I think you're probably wrong.
spoonydanger 1 year ago
@spoonydanger I am very much an N, but depending on the circumstances of a setting, I will react with heightened Senses, because quite frankly, jumping to conclusions based on gut feelings alone when dealing with other people around you, often of whom are S types, would be an unwise move. As he put it, INTJs are survivalists, and adapt accordingly, even if that means making our types with a facade to appease those around us should we be in a position that requires us to.
sekirei9823 1 year ago
It seems like you don't accept that INTJ is merely how we are catagorized and that none of us is completely perfect in our expression of each pole, neither should we be expected nor obligated to.
As for "hearing him speak", I did not mean the vibration of his voice. In fact, I don't acknowledge the flow of his explanation either. Being introverted, some of us can't verbalize at all. If I spoke in voice, it would sound ridiculous and my thoughts would be erratic. I'm an xSFP when I speak.
sekirei9823 1 year ago
@sekirei9823 Umm, you don't seem to understand that people are often mistyped. As an INTJ, I'm usually able to pretty easily articulate my point. Being Introverted doesn't mean you aren't a good conversationalist. You haven't even attempted to disprove my reasoning, Mr.INTJ.
Based on your ridiculous bit about how you're an ISFP when you speak, you clearly have a limited understanding of the typology as a whole.
I suggest you do a little more reflection and a little less reading. You're ISTJ
spoonydanger 1 year ago
@sekirei9823 brb Instead of arguing rationally, I just throw biased examples out there and hope they speak for themselves.
The idiocy of the internectuals never ceases to bring my hand over my brow. See ya never.

@spoonydanger Despite my alleged "limited understanding" and regardless of personalty types, you seem very immature and the extent of your hastiness is not only surprising, but worrisome.

@sekirei9823 Come to think of it, you're probably an S too.

PhotoExtremist 1 year ago
@PhotoExtremist for me it´s an inside anger. i usually don´t admit my anger, don´t bring it to conscious, but I tend to feel that people are being over-inadequade, and it annoys me.
