  • LOL great Spinal Tap impression :)

  • Whats one of these big Moog's worth?

  • round 22,000 U.S. dollars.

  • So sad to see and hear his finger/hand-problems... :-(

  • Set the Moog & Carl Palmer's drummer riser up feb 23, 1974 (36 hour process)

  • "It can go to number 11 but it can go to 12...and beyond" ... unlike those digital synthesizers which can only go to 1. :)

  • yess... the real stuff

  • there's a vst one!

  • Great, great!

  • I loved how the Hammond Organ is jealous of all the attention on the Mighty Moog Modular !

  • this is excellent,.....there's nothing like the analog synthesizers,.....like the ARP 2500 and 2600......I saw ELP in the 70s and he had one similar to this one.....

  • Nigel!!!

  • Absolutely brilliant!

  • Brilliant glimpse into the past. Have a K/Board I bought just for percussion that would've been considered witchcraft back then. How far can sonics go? I wish I was younger and I could grow up with the new tech.Like Doc.Razz, I hate it when musicians purport to be magicians and the crowd fawns.De-mystifying is the key....

  • The vintage guitar amp people will dig this - point to point wiring! This goes to 20.

  • cool vid, but i cant stand when audiences act like such tools

  • @DoctorRazzArea4 you mean you don't like people enjoying themselves at a once in a lifetime event?

  • Wow! Glad this one was captured.... :D

  • Keith Emerson doesn't need to go to 11. He doesn't need to go past 7.

  • Brilliant! Keith doing his spinal tap bit.

  • @fooloof, he uses the MiniMoog alot of times.

  • hilarious!!!!!!!!

  • wondering why he doesn't just use a Minimoog. That's why they made it, so they wouldn't have to haul this thing around. But you can't argue with the sound of the modular!

Damn! Even one osc sounds fat as hell! I'm sure the 300K sound system.

    doesn't hurt.

Would have loved to hear some bass on that beast. great video!

  • The Master...The Guv'nor!!!

  • I saw Emerson and Lake in LA at the Orpheum Theatre about 8 or 9 months ago. He had this damn thing on stage that night. What a great flashback that was to see it live again.

  • @zggystardust: if they come back to LA, I'm going just for the Moog solo!

  • was that jeremy clarkson at @0:40?

  • @playsstrats That was Greg Lake.

  • The real deal for analog. Sounds magical! At 3:02 my hair stood up on my arm.

Now I have to have a listen to the full recording. Have. To.

  • He's a nut. I love it. :D

  • Ahh... the Moog 55 modular, I always wanted one of those.

  • @Wolfymusic1

It is a Moog Modular IIIc (3c), not a 55. Emerson never played a model 55..

  • Once I heard the repeating A-flat, I only expected one song. Dang I'm good.

  • @TheAndrewSchlieter I thought the same exact thing, haha. My second favorite song from them. My first is Trilogy :-D

  • 3 people is a drummer

  • dang.. this is so complicated and nerd!.. beautiful. but nothing like a simply cheap guitar x3

  • Kieth Emerson is the Nigel Tufnel of keyboards!

  • Where and when was this please?

  • Awesome presentation!

  • Great moments! — c.a.t.

  • Fantastic! Thank you!!!!

  • "You can't touch it don't even look at it." lmao! Keith with the Spinal Tap reference ftw

  • This is a really entertaining clip and I speak as an old ELP head.. so thanks!

  • One of the best things I've seen all year. Thank you!!

  • @peterkadar Same here. Loved it. More please.

  • Yes Techno music is coming from keith emerson and others like bruce haack

  • Keith is brilliant! Also: Moog Modulars mean back aches for roadies but MAN do they look and sound great on stage!

  • Great pines, that thing's a MONSTER!!!

  • Nice, Nigel!

  • Does he always explains it in this tour?

  • is this where techno came from?

  • @squierplayer unfortunately yes, from the synthesizers

  • @AgoAnselmo your bird sucks

  • @dejahthoris Thank you, I love you too! :)

  • @dejahthoris However, I'm sorry if I've offended someone, it wasn't my intention, I'm sorry...

  • @squierplayer Not directly, but early electronic music and early synthesizers and sequencers did play a major role in the later techno/house and other recent electronic/dance genres.

  • @squierplayer Precisely.

  • @squierplayer YES.

  • @squierplayer YES ;)

  • @squierplayer no it didn't, nowhere near, for that you need perhaps Raymond Scott and Bruce Haack.

  • the king,par excellence !

  • MansightJoker : because it IS Karn Evil 9

  • My god,his fingers look like they dont want to work!!!!

  • Oh man! This is PRICELESS! How fortunate for those of you who were there!!!!!!

  • Why does it sound like he's playing "Karn Evil 9" since 3:05????

  • @MansightJoker because he is. :DDDDD

  • Is there a TV in the top right of that synth

  • That's an oscilliscope, which I think is used to tune the oscillators. I don't think you can actually use it watch TV.

  • @Kohntarkosz No I'm pretty sure it's a TV

  • @TheSSchickenhead No, it's actually an Oscilliscope!

  • Couse you Know his dad was a Telephone engineer..funny I thought. The noises you get outa fings a Pete

  • OH MAN, THIS IS SO GREAT!!! Where/when was this? A Q&A with the KING, Keith Emerson? So jealous I wasn't there too.

  • @cosmotcat April 11, 2010 at Lynn Auditorium in Lynn, Massachusetts. I was at this show and the show the night before in New Bedford, MA

  • I saw the show in Milwaukee. It was fabulous to see the guys and it appeared that they were having fun. Greg gave me his guitar pick after playing Lucky Man which made my day. I am 56 years old and I recently took up the guitar and the 1st song that I learned was Lucky Man so it was really cool timing. That pick is in a frame now. Thanks Greg for the gesture and thank you both for a really enjoyable show.

  • Man, this is great! I love listening to him talk about this stuff!!

  • Fantastic - he looks like he's having a great time...and you know the audience is!

  • Like this lesson.

  • Priceless. Looks like they're having great fun on the tour.

  • Keith is the best ever!! The Ritchie Backmore on Keyboard!
