  • this was in st ives

  • No offence but it looks like you were riding in the gutter? Maybe riding in the left hand wheel track, 1m+ from the curb, would have made him wait then do a proper job of overtaking when it was clear? Just my 2p worth...

  • @nigglenoo Yeah I know what you mean, but the guy is a professional driver, nothing should have stopped him making a 'proper job' of it. He couldn't even judge how long his vehicle was. Unless that was on purpose.

  • i had some bastard bus overtake me a week back, but not enough room so he pulls back in, i figure he knows i'm there, but no, he keeps on and wedges me into the curb right by his back wheels, highly fucking dangerous! lucky i thumped on the side of the thing and bunny hopped over the high curb. he then had theh nerve to gesture at me like it was my fault!

  • From the rear facing camera you can see just how close that was.

  • Drop an email into the Huntingdon depot with the time, the reg, and the coach number 15465 (Scania / ADL Enviro - Bought for guided busway May 09 - you would not believe how much information you can get on a bus!) Email: fenland.enquiries(at)tagecoachbus(dot)com Tel: 01480 453 159

Stagecoach take these things very seriously,

  • @finbat How did you get that info? Thanks for that.

  • @MelloVEL0 Google the reg, will normally get you a coach number (which is the smaller 5 digit number painted on all sides of a bus.) You will then be able to get photos, bus fleet list, then a depot, Go to bus operator site and get the depot contact.

  • That's an awful overtake!!

  • @CyclingMikey I'm worried it looks like nothing on video, I could have touched the side of that, especially cutting back into the side of me with the tail end of the bus.

  • @MelloVEL0 It's true - though I think it's obvious to anyone who takes care to look and compare distances just how close that was.

  • @MelloVEL0 I know what you mean, I look at my videos and the 135 deg. wide angle lens has embarrassedly distorted the view, like security mirrors do in shops, it only takes a small increase in the gap to make a big difference to the perceived distance. There is also the feeling that viewers expect to see extreme videos. Anybody with a similar camera will know how dangerous that overtake was.

  • @MelloVEL0

When he overtakes and pulls in it looks bad....Too close anyway....

  • That's a coincidence I also had a problem with Statecoach No. 55 today.

I have sent an email to their local office complaining, not sure anything will happen but I thought worth a try.

  • @BadSwindoomRoadUsers Are they one of the newer buses that carry video themselves? I wasn't sure if Stagecoach do.

  • @MelloVEL0 Not sure Stagecoach buses in Swindon are that modern, they tend to be older compared to other companies, although the one in my video is only 4 years old. If I get a reply from Stagecoach maybe they will tell me if they have on board cameras.

  • @MelloVEL0 I emailed Stagecoach with a copy of my video. I got an apology yesterday from the local manager indicating the offending driver had been told off and that he should drive more carefully.

  • mmm, they waited for a bit, and then decided to rush at the smallish gap... I find it hard to say at least they didn't try to overtake sooner.
