@phoenixzion82 I had travel to Kuwaiti city 4 years ago and talk to the people of Kuwait who live in that war. They told me all the horrible stories that Iraqi troops committed. They rape woman and took a lot of oil, targeted Kuwaiti civilians, some were round up and shot in execution style, targeted hospitals and such, so on. They even told me that even Iraqi troops force a girl to have sex with her. In fact, why don't you some google research yourself. Or come to Kuwait and talk to them.

To be war crime, it has to violate international law. BUT in this case, they are retreating soldiers trying to return into Iraq with machine-guns sticking out and the US bombed them as the Desert Storm was still raging on. Letting them retreat would give them a chance to regroups and counterattack again with a stronger force.

But I remember a documentary with interviews and pictures with evidence that most people who were killed were civilians. They were fleeing out of Kuwait on the same highway as the Iraqi military was retreating. It is some years ago that I saw this on TV. This was even before 2003. Kurds and Shiite rebels after the Gulf War was expecting a help from the U.S. assisting them bringing down the Iraqi Regime but the U.S. support didn't came as the rebels were slaughtered by the Republican Guard as a result. The only thing we did to protect them was set up a no-fly zones over Iraq to protect the Kurds and Shiites from by attacked by the Iraqi Regime.
I can find no mention of Iraqi forces raping Kuwaiti civilians, only of Kuwaiti forces raping former Iraqi and Palestinian citizens of Kuwait. If your info comes from Wiki, please note the broken citation, where it comes from and read the actual report yourself. The "Nayirah" testimony is where these allegations come from, and it was later revealed she was the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador the the US.

But it doesn't mean that the Iraqi atrocities against the people of Kuwait never happened. Iraqi troops often went house-to-house hunt for Kuwaiti families to harass. Often they take out a lot of families members from their house and often shot dead about five boys a week. They also beat boys and most Kuwaiti civilians were refuse to access to health care.
I am not saying that there were no atrocities committed, just that most are unfounded, even after the occupation. Human shields and rape allegations are what brought international support and yet they were unfounded and the source exposed.
Of course in war there are atrocities, but do yourself a favor and read the document about Kuwaiti abuses which are well documented but ignored.

The crimes Kuwaitis are accused of are the same as the Iraqis. Prior to the occupation there were Palestinian and Iraqis living in Kuwait. During the fighting and after the occupation had ended they faced repression and expulsion. Because it was peacetime when the majority of incidences occurred it was easier for human rights groups to verify. You could easily do a Google search with appropriate keywords.

No chemical no "sound" weapons were used. Tail and lead vehicles were attacked first to immobilise the column. It looks worse than it was- way more Iraqi soldiers survived than died (civilian cars were driven by soldiers whose units were ordered to steal everything they could on the way out).

What I mean to say is, the facts of the story are just as important as the source. And just because the source is mainstream media, the facts may not even be real. They rape woman and took a lot of oil, targeted Kuwaiti civilians, some were round up and shot in execution style, targeted hospitals and such, so on. They even told me that even Iraqi troops force a girl to have sex with her. In fact, why don't you some google research yourself. Or come to Kuwait and talk to them.

To be war crime, it has to violate international law. BUT in this case, they are retreating soldiers trying to return into Iraq with machine-guns sticking out and the US bombed them as the Desert Storm was still raging on. Letting them retreat would give them a chance to regroups and counterattack again with a stronger force.

But I remember a documentary with interviews and pictures with evidence that most people who were killed were civilians. They were fleeing out of Kuwait on the same highway as the Iraqi military was retreating. It is some years ago that I saw this on TV. This was even before 2003. If I could only find the documentary somewhere I could show you. But until I find it, I'll just keep quit and hope you are right.

Who said they were crossing the border to Iraq? Iraq was not yet the warzone. This were 60 miles of highway. We should have take care of business back in 1991 but the UN decided to say no and it only allowed the liberation of Kuwait.

Kurds and Shiite rebels after the Gulf War was expecting a help from the U.S. assisting them bringing down the Iraqi Regime but the U.S. support didn't came as the rebels were slaughtered by the Republican Guard as a result. The only thing we did to protect them was set up a no-fly zones over Iraq to protect the Kurds and Shiites from by attacked by the Iraqi Regime.

If your info comes from Wiki, please note the broken citation, where it comes from and read the actual report yourself. The "Nayirah" testimony is where these allegations come from, and it was later revealed she was the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador the the US.

But it doesn't mean that the Iraqi atrocities against the people of Kuwait never happened. Iraqi troops often went house-to-house hunt for Kuwaiti families to harass. Often they take out a lot of families members from their house and often shot dead about five boys a week. They also beat boys and most Kuwaiti civilians were refuse to access to health care.

The crimes Kuwaitis are accused of are the same as the Iraqis. Prior to the occupation there were Palestinian and Iraqis living in Kuwait. During the fighting and after the occupation had ended they faced repression and expulsion. Because it was peacetime when the majority of incidences occurred it was easier for human rights groups to verify. You could easily do a Google search with appropriate keywords.

No chemical no "sound" weapons were used. Tail and lead vehicles were attacked first to immobilise the column. It looks worse than it was- way more Iraqi soldiers survived than died (civilian cars were driven by soldiers whose units were ordered to steal everything they could on the way out).

Destroying an enemy's personnel and material when he "breaks" and attempts to flee is called a "rout". It's 1st year War College stuff. You can bring your firepower to bear with more devastating effect when the enemy loses discipline. It does appear to be unfair but it is an important tactic that's been used since prehistoric times. The coalition, not just the US, bombed the heck out of them. So Brits, and others were involved as well. I love how this paints just the US as the monsters.
