my parents were sitting in the very front seats and there was this little girl and her dad behind them... When they came to the Drop... the little girl is screaming at the Top of her lungs... SHIIIIIIIIT!... i thought lol...!! but the dad didnt do anything!!!!

It's super fun xD Just keep your eyes open, other wise it's worse. And I'd hold your neck straight, just because mine cracked about halfway down the second hill and hurt like heck for the rest of the day.

i live a few miles away from erie so i go here every year! The ride is totally awesome!Smooth too! Try it at night! The only bad part was the waiting! BUT I Hear that they are working on putting in a new ride this year, soit wont be too crowded!!!

true. they are putting in a smaller version of maXair from cedar point. instead of the ride swinging like a pendulum, it will be laid on a "U" shaped track. the ride will be a big disk in which u sit on the outside, and it slowly rotates as you going up and down the 60 foot high track. its located by the bumper cars.

i live in erie, i was just there today checking in on the new ride actually. i asked the owner if i could go in to see it from the inside, unfortuntaly, he ddnt want me to.

The ride is alright....I just dislike it cause it hurts your balls so much specially spinning upwards and its uncomfortable on your back..

yeah i hear ya. the mega vortex, like the xscream, is more like a gimic to get more money and more visitors.

eventually theyll end up getting a newer bigger ride.. hopefully

they said swings are in the plans for next year right next to the ferris wheel in the train turn around

This ride is crazy me and my friends went on vacation to erie and we went here, best coaster in the park, although all 3 of us has very bad headaces and out spines were killing us, imagine how much pain we were in after riding this 6 times in a row.

I live in Erie, haven't been back to Waldameer for at least a decade. Can't wait to try it out next week if my friends all want to go.

Looks like a good ride. Maybe in another 10 years they'll make a steel coaster that dips down into the lake itself and goes over the water for a duration. Probably not a good idea though - possible negative environmental impact.

I don't like roller coasters, heck the Comet scares me LOL (only because it still has the same wood from when I was a kid back in the 70's LOL. - my hubby and stepdaughter went on on the RVII and they loved it. But a shame they had to make this one out of wood too (like the Comet). :-)

I love that place so much! Way back when, me and my family would stay at the cottages nearby and go to their and presque Isle, or we'd stay at Thunderbird Trailers (or something like that) That was by far the funnest vacation- better than cedar point!

they really have done a great job keeping the 'small park' feel while upgrading and adding bigger rides. now, they are going to spend a couple years expanding/upgrading the water park. i love how they let you bring your own food, and how you can walk in the park without buying a ride pass...both things are great for families.
