  • could a 230 pound 15 year old do parkour??

  • I live in Columbus lol I just saw a clip from a video I saw previously, I thot I'd be like the only guy interested haha turns out theres a whole community with people doing the same thing I'm trying to learn to do.... AND IT'S 15 MINUTES AWAY???!! Awesome

  • oh snap. i was thinking about trying this. i live in columbus! :D

  • could you tell me what the music is in order because it fits this brilliant video!

  • What the fuck is this?

    A methodical process?

Parkour is about freedom and individually

Fuck the same repeated movements everyone learns

    Fuck this institution,

  • @Gregoryxlz The founders of Parkour stress this method of training as it builds the type of strength and endurance crucial for parkour. If you were to just go straight into advanced parkour you would be able to practice for no more than two or three years before you would sustain injuries that would force you to stop permanently. If you think of parkour of a way of life, this is how you go about it.

  • @pentak4

This training...this only brings up the same limitations as everything in life. To know how exactly what you can do, to know your limitations based on only what you've trained...thats no freedom. Parkour was never about being safe. It's very nature is risk and reward. To jump fearlessly over danger, and experience the thrill of success. What thrill is it, if you train the same repeated movements. I won't run the way the system tells me to, and I won't follow their rules.

  • @Gregoryxlz I agree that the institutional aspect of this can be dangerous. With institutions come "leaders" which leaves room for egos to take over (just like competition).

I disagree with you on repetition. Parkour is not about the flashy. Without the mentality, parkour becomes purely physical and meaningless.

  • @amarmirza08

What mentality? The only people with reason to move like this would be criminals. Everyone else just does it for the fun and feelings of thrill and accomplishment. What fun is it if you train the same movements over and over?

  • @Gregoryxlz Indeed one of the most satisfying aspects of parkour is the thrill of moving freely, but the sense of accomplishment for me comes from dedicating yourself to a discipline. That dedication entails daily training of less glorious "repetitive movements" which enable you to move freely and confidently. I don't want to sound like I am talking down to you. I am just another guy, but I encourage you to watch the interview with Vigroux and see if you find something more to parkour. Peace bro

  • @Gregoryxlz Just a thought: If you approach Parkour a little bit more more like a martial art (or other self-defense discipline)--as opposed to an extreme sport or entertainment activity--then it's easier to see how the ability to move like this can have real world application without criminality.

  • @Gregoryxlz

A methodical process is important if you want to avoid both short term and longterm injuries. It's still free and people still move individually. This is obvisouly what freerunning is about, and it's always been about that. There are others thing out there, such as competitions and reckless behavior to worry about. Wouldn't be too good if freerunning become just a physical sport, because then it's meaningless.

  • uhhh that was pure parkour not free running in the least and thank you for that. i cant seem to find very many people who understand the discipline and yes blackknight San antonio is lame...no one to train with here

  • I want this to become popular in TX!!

    lame ass san antonio

  • hmm parkour is cool but add flips and make it freerunning

  • really good. better than me haha

    >.> for now...

  • man i luv Parkour and Freeruning!!!

    i do parkour

    im only 13

  • this isnt parkour, free runing yes parkour no maybe some of it but parkour no

  • 1:14 is completely parkour. also 1:33

  • that seems pretty cool its really good for workout and having good arm strength

  • your arms will grow with your buddy so at one moment you wont get much stronger maybey you are going to be able to do hard trics for longer and higher but youll arms will grow to your weight

  • Darn youtube, I was replying to you and BloodedHero. I know where they are.

  • I know these guys, i trained with them.

  • WTF OHIO! I Live there and I'm trying to find someone to train me. I'm only 17 but still.

  • im only 15. what part of ohio?

  • I live in Zanesville, how about you guys?

  • they are an ohio state club type thing, which is in columbus, so. idk how far away columus is. but its getting preety popular in the us im sure if this is too far you can find something closer.

  • Me too

  • We completely stopped training in the gym in the spring of 2008 because it is too easy to get injured with all those slippery pads. Our training sessions are entirely outdoors now.

  • SO THAT"S WHY THOSE GUYS WERE IN OHIO!!! wow. that's awesome.

  • Good video

  • By he way lucky you have that sort of gym there for you to train, we have nothing down in Llanelli so we have to start on concrete straight away which sucks!

  • i did, what are you complaining about?

  • Yeah I think it is best to train with other's because if they're slightly better than you they can tell you what you're doing wrong and how you can improve on it =) Good Video People.

  • great video guys!

  • fantastic job

  • hahaah wen that kid grows up, hes gonna be a greak parkourer...

  • uhhh its traceur

  • opssss sorry i meant great parkourer...!!!!

  • yeah my team has lk no members , no one does parkour , every1 calls it gay. ? what am i suppose to do ? i mean i'm very good at it but as far s i know my team sux and wont try new challenges

  • you don't have to train with a team

i practice parkour and although there is a large community near me i practice most days by myself

you don't have to train with others to improve

also try and get some of your friends into parkour, this can inspire you to train with them and not only better yourself but them aswell

  • noooooo!!! this totally sucks, i just got into parkour and saw this vid and got mad sicked, then i find out that it was on memorial day which was 3 days ago, this sucks(runs away and cries in a corner)

  • nice skill guys

  • mashaalaah muhammad u r good Awesome and the best traceur in the clip is anwar howell the kid ! mashaalaah and keep training hard u and anwar

  • Muhammed. Jesus. You're looking wonderful, I remember the first time I met you, and now look at the sexy toned body!

You guys are making me feel bad for not being involved this whole school year.

  • hehe.. thanks Austin. Hope you come can get some time free during the Memorial Day weekend to come join us man.

  • Awesome Awesome Wonderful. Sending the message home, and educating everyone on what parkour IS.

  • Dont you guys see what you've become? Parkour isnt about guidlines and teaching certification. It isnt about clubs and coaching. Its about pure free expression of movement it seems like you guys have lost sight of that. Thats why I dont come to your practise sessions anymore. I train with my group of friends we dont go to expos or set up classes. We run. We jump. We push out limits. But we never make an insitution out of it.

  • It was Joseph's goal from the very beginning, to organize and help develop parkour in the Columbus area to help spread and share parkour. It's good to be organized. That was the mission from the very beginning, to empower, to engage and to teach parkour according the high standards of the early generations of traceurs. When you're organized, you can accomplish more positive things, such as being able to work with the international scene. It's lots of fun ;)

  • shows the making of a great parkour community and great documentary, cant wait to see the final edit. great stuff!

    Julie

  • Thanks Julie. That means alot coming from you! We're really looking forward to seeing you all again :p

  • "no other university, as far as we know, has command over the nature of what we do... things like liability, curriculum, member assessment..."

I can see all the humility Parkour has taught you.

  • sythalist, that is not what he said! listen again. he said, "no other university, as far as we know, has DEMANDED the comprehensive nature of what we are trying to set up and do.." what he is talking about here is what the university demanded of them to have in place before they could have a club, and these guys wanted the club so badly, they actually started trying to meet every requirement the university made, such as curriculum, liability, etc..

  • My comment still stands.

  • no, it fell down, mr. sour grapes ;p
