  • seriously...couldnt have picked a worse song`!!!

  • he shudnt look down at the ball when he dribles but yah hes cool. pistol pete invented the tightest passes too

  • vs chuck norris. chuck got nothing

  • pistol pete is the muthafuckin man

  • I reckon he'd still be the best ballhandler in today's game.

  • @allytron You'd be reckoning very very wrong... Do you even know who "The Professor" is?

  • @illSavant mate, professor green doesn't even play basketball.

  • @allytron Allen Iverson had better handles than Pistol Pete.

  • @jason60152 i doubt it. if pistol was around in the same era and incentivised, he would handle better than anyone.

  • @allytron Allen Iverson was soo good he got his crossover banned.Iverson's dribbles was too quick for Pistal.Iverson broke peoples angles who tried to guard him.I'd rather guard a slower Pistal than Iverson.

  • @jason60152 Like I said, Pistol would be the better ball-handler. Pistol is the best at dribbling from a technical sense.

  • @allytron Like I said,Iverson is the better ball-handler.Pistal is a good dribbler but these new people like Jordan,Kobe, and Vince Carter got better handles than Pistal.Pistal was one of the best playmakers ever but to say he is the best ball handler is absurd!!

  • all it takes is commitment, discipline, and practice

this is gonna be a lot of frustration when you start doing this drill, there will be a tremendous amount of frustration, the ball is gonna go everywhere

stay with it, if you stay with it, you will be able to do it!

  • Absolutely amazing! This man was BORN to do this! Rip Pistol Pete! You were ahead of your time!!!

  • Didnt watch cause how much I disliked the music

  • pistol was a gym rat as a kid, spending all day and night practicing

  • every young player should learn from this man

  • Ya sure some kids these days can do this stuff, but look at all the moves the pistol pulled during games. The special this about him was his creativity..... all the stuffyou see in the nba, fake behind the back passes, yah maravich INVENTED that stuff..... so quit hatin' and start appreciatin'

  • nice music douschebag

  • @Bostonshlong94 it's duoche moron ,lol maravich played for boston in Larry Birds rookie year and the 1st year for the NBA3 pt. rule.Wow bird and maravich raining together

  • @eurantia oh so its duoche? lol fuck you learn to type

  • @eurantia oh so its duoche? lol fuck you learn to type and yes i know its douche that was one of those quick spells so 8==D--- O: get some

  • Nowadays kids do this shit with their eyes closed

  • my coach would be rippin him a new one since he was looking at the ball while he doing all of this

  • @gnmozzzi DUH the man never looked at the ball during game play but you probably never did your homework and viewed any game films

  • if u want a laugh....listen to "clipse: comedy central" while watching pistol pete

  • best ballhandler of all times

  • @BazhoFromTheHood You must never seen Allen Iverson.

  • @jason60152 i've seen AI3 he has good handles, but he aint got nothin on PISTOL

  • @BazhoFromTheHood AI has the best crossover ever............even the NBA banned his crossover.Pistal's dribbles look slow compared to Iverson's.

  • @jason60152 its true AI has best crossover but ball handles is more than just crossover

  • @BazhoFromTheHood your right I never really seen all Pistal Petes games and i'm not from his era.Pistal Pete is unique for his time and was a innovator no doubt!

  • @jason60152 iverson the thug, even the referees hated him, they would look the other way and let the defenses hammer him

  • @eurantia lmao!!!!

  • Boy o boy you better fking trust me, this is ALOT harder then it looks...

  • WOW Pistol Pete definitely knew the fundamentals and then some..Sorry he's passed he'd have been a great pro coach.

  • No offense to the pistol in any way, he did magic on the court...

But 2:37 to 2:41, talk about keep your eyes up? lol

P.S. What's with the "breakfast drills"?

  • am I the only one that really remember of Frodo from The Lord Of The Rings when I look at Pete's face?

  • JORDAN DA BEST EVER

  • @wilzusuki without pistol, jordan and other stars would be nothin

  • so cool he had 'pistol' on his back

  • do that walking backwards then ill be impresses

  • I'm just surprised he wasn't diagnosed. I think every physical checkup for kids should show and let them know exactly what's going on with their body. Even back then. It's ridiculous. How does someone not know what's wrong with their heart for 40 years? Their physicians don't tell them? A lot of basketball players (recently in high school and other) have died from playing

  • crazy handles. i have so much respect for pete. i wish he was still alive.

  • i use to dribble with thick gloves on thats how i got my ball handeling skillz

  • Okay if you ever see a guy doing that on the sideline while picking teams.... Take that guy first...

  • he is half serbian!!!!!!!!!!!:D

  • He seems to have a perfectionists mind. Likely he would have been great at whatever he did.

  • Diggin the stache.

  • was pistol adam morrisons dad?

  • can you do it with your head up?

  • pistol avg 44 a game 3 years in college no 3 point line and is college game shorter?

  • pistol way better than jordan

  • Pistol was a rare talent and a good person, R.I.P.

  • OK, I'll be honest, I can't do all those one handed between the legs dribbles but I can do a crossover which already broke a few ankles! ;)

  • i just started playing basketball at my first year in college and yes im late at playing but man, pistol pete is my inspiration. i just think of the things pete would do in a practice and i practice wholeheartedly. rest in peace pistol pete.

  • After reading the book "Pistol" I have a new found respect for him. He was the original Showtime. RIP

  • Rest in Peace Pete.

  • he should be number 1

  • The Pistol. He ranks 14 in my greatest players ever.

  • @GarchompNation Damn.. Thats cold, lol.

  • @GarchompNation Nobody cares your stupid list

  • @PhillyDippy5

Sick cunt lad. I wish I was an thug and gangster as you.

  • @GarchompNation Your list sucks, you don't know even what basketball means.

  • @PhillyDippy5

Yer Phil your list starts off with Kobe Bryant and Lebron James.

Shut up you piece of shit, if you can't recognise the Pistol for his greatest then fuck off out of here.

  • @GarchompNation What? In my list Pete Maravich is on the top, you can't say Pete is number 14, only an idiot can argue that, even if it's true it's not fair to say that in this video. Imagine you telling Pete when he was alive, hey Pete, you're the number 14 in my list of the best basketball players... i can imagine Pete thinking (who is this guy?)

  • @PhillyDippy5

Ok firstly idiot. "Maravich is on the top" You put Maravich before Jordan? Before Wilt? Before Kareem you are an idiot. Seriously I said this was MY LIST. MY INDIVIDUAL list thus I can put him in any position I want, there are no rules when it comes to numbering basketballers. Pistol would take it was a compliment because of all the other great players he beat to get that spot, Elgin Baylor.. Jerry West... Etcetera.

    Shut up and good day.

  • @GarchompNation You just don't get it, i meant nobody cares your dumb list, that's all, even if your list is well done (which is not).

  • @PhillyDippy5

Well obviously you cared enough to argue with me for a decent amount of time on Youtube.

    Ahahah the irony.

  • @GarchompNation If you've ever seen them play, Jordan's first, and Maravich and many other are second. I would surely not put Wilt or Kareem anywhere close on there, the game evolved, and it's later players were simply better masters of it. It's like Tim Duncan, always consistent, best fundamentals, but definitely not the best. Maravich was an amazing scorer, and underrated. Sometimes, just screw the stats and watch some video.

  • god i wish there was youtube or access to vids like this when i was in highschool ...this would have helped me tons..r.i.p pete...

  • Video has an etheral quality about it with that white hazy aura looking thing surrounding him

  • O cara era monstro (yy '

  • what a fuckin magician im amazed pete is a genius

  • cool

  • If only he had a 3point line

  • he wouldve been a great coach

  • What is the name of this song?

  • wWAAYYY harder than it looks

  • Coolest guy to ever play in the NBA. Just a friggin sly dude.

  • I saw him play in a college tournament once. He was the Tiger's team. When he got to about what is now the 3 point line the defense would double and even triple team him and he still scored 45 points. If his teammates could have caught his no look passes, LSU would have been a power house.

  • He's cool, though, the scrambled egg demonstration looks like he has tourette :D

  • fuck dis music

  • This man was revolutionary to the game of basketball.

  • there's a reason why maravich wasn't a good teammate, it's because no one could keep up with him.

if you would've put him on a team with an actual supporting cast, and gave him a 3 pt. line through his entire career, dude would've been the best of all time. without a doubt.

  • @92463mike - how old you think Haynes was? 50 years before Maravich was hatched? What you been smoking?

  • This is some impressive shit right here. I reckon most current NBAers could not do these drills.

  • I like how he encourages you throughout :)

  • If Pete didn't die at age 40 he would have been GOAT!

  • @Rayelth What kind of dumbass shit is that to say? What NBA player has done anything to further his legacy after the age of 35, let alone 40?

  • @Rayelth NO think of this my dad if from harlem, so just think of the stuff that would have been seen with pistol ar the rucker, mmmmm, fly, the hawk, the dr, pewee, the pearl and pistol wow pete was born in the wrong part of the country

  • Pete Maravich did not 'invent' anything! Marques Haynes was dribbling like that 50-years before the 'great white hope' was born, FATMACK! Stop biggin' up the white man all the time!

  • pistol pete is a boss. he had a crazy ass wrist.

  • Pay attention when class is in session

  • OK, hold on, that blind folded dribble was incredible.

  • nice!!!!!

  • and omg serious LOL at 4:36

  • Comment removed

  • Damn...dude was great but he was pretty ugly lol

  • garbage ass mormon jajajajaja f k utah they suck balls deep lol

  • @aurdaz you have to be meheecan. why do you have access to the internet? shouldn't you be working you wetback?

  • jason williams may have been quicker up the court than pete and has the quicker trick moves than pete in his google highlights.. similar passing and dribbling styles... jason watched pete's videos.. who is the next jason or pete in college or nba? google jason's highlights to see the quickness of this "little pistol"

  • "whatever you can do with a basketball, do it because you're gonna become that much better in it"

    Great Words

  • and then on the 8th day.... God created Pete Maravich

  • I say ... Pistol Pete > MJ

    My Opinion

  • @baber925 LOLOLOL your a JOKE Jordan on his worst day is better than pete

  • @TheFatMack Hey man. I'm just saying. Opinions are opinions. But I see what you mean. Jordan is GOAT

  • @TheFatMack pistol is the greatest ball handler, dribbler, shooter and passer of all time...oh yer... and he was the first person to invent most of those dribbles, shots and passes... oh yer.. and he was the first, and one the few people to be really good at all of these aspects.

  • @magnapillow LOLOL a career 44% shooter and a career 5.4apg in the nba LOLOLOLOL dude he couldnt even touch steve nash let alone the GREAT PG`s like magic,zeek,stockton,gp,ect.....

  • Damn He's White.Fuck NBA Nowadays Is All About athleticism.

  • He looks so awkward wearing jeans!

  • i think he was the best..sorry folks he was the best of all time

  • @chiledoug Jordan is the best scorer of all time.

  • Why wouldn't anyone turn the lights on in that gym for Pistol Pete?

  • I'm really hungry for scrambled eggs and flapjacks now.

  • wow, great techcnique

  • there was so many greats back in the day that players of his caliber was just natural now you know who plays good and who plays okay by the dollar $igns

  • this guy is the best, i mean he calls one of his drill scrambled eggs, not everyone can do that lol

  • The globetrotters really tried to get him after he retired

  • Man, this guy likes breakfast.

  • Pete is amazing!!!

  • The complexity of simplicity!!!!!!!!!!

  • He is a beast

  • He would have averaged 56 pts a game if they had the 3 point line.......

I don't want to play 10 years and then die of a heart attack when I'm 40.

    "Pete Maravich"

and that is what exactly happenend

    RIP Pistol!!!

  • @44sox44 Pete Maravich was born without a left coronary artery (an artery that supplies blood to the heart.). That he survived so long with a single coronary artery is incredible.

There's more information in medical literature ("Pete Maravich's incredible heart").

  • barefoot you must be white

  • For some reason,he reminds me so much of steve nash.

  • sad part is, he was obviously drinking in these shoots. still love ya, Pete. best college player ever.

  • @Brandonrh76

He wasn`t a drinker,He had a heart disease and died at age 40.His heart was missing an artery in the left chamber causing the right to work extra hard.

  • @BobLemkeSuxDix

You, sir, are a fucking moron. I hope you die the worst death possible you stupid fuck...

  • @BobLemkeSuxDix

Well Bob Sux Dick, I can tell by your reply and your Youtube I.D. that you are fixated on Dick sucking. You are GAY as they come.It is quite evident.

  • @BobLemkeSuxDix he played for his dad in college, and was a better ball handler than any other NBA player

  • @BobLemkeSuxDix i hope you die at an early age just for saying that. he had kids so why would he do drugs and drink. and i think you're mad because you suck your coaches dick, because you can't pay of the debt you owe him, so you better fuck off asshole.

  • @BobLemkeSuxDix wow ur just jelous. he WAY better then u ever will be.

  • @BobLemkeSuxDix say one more thing wrong about pete maravich and i will kill you

  • 2:08 i love the camera switch and his speed

  • 44.2 points per game in NCAA. Amazing.

  • @gustavozanfra without a 3 point line

  • Mad skills..

  • if i sub will you sub????

  • best point guard ever

  • Thanks for uploading, wonderful oldskool stuff

  • Dude got mad skills. Good drills Pete.

  • Why are there dislikes??

  • Pistol was an amazing basketball player. I've practiced all his videos so much. I've become a great basketball player my ball handling skills have takin me far.

  • in learning the scramble dribble he probably slapped himself in the nut a couple of times.

  • I had these tapes as a kid, but i kept it secret.I wanted my friends to think i was dominating them on natural ability alone

  • he looked unhealthy

  • if he had been born in 1957 (ten years later) he'd be considered the greatest ever by everyone. he'd have dominated the NCAA in the late 70's and been a wrecking ball when the NBA got popular in the 80's. sucks he had "bad timing". Jordan couldn't hold his jock.

  • This guy was a freak of nature with that damn basketball. Louisiana legend.

Sadly he doesn't get enough credit or mentionability. And it's pretty obvious why. Yes I said it but it's true. I bet if he had a million tats and was listening to...never mind...point made.

  • @NathanIVV Mj and Bird didn't have a million tats and they get the credit and the recognition so why even get into a race thing

  • why the hell does it take soooo long to start? jeez

  • He was one of a kind and no one could put on show like Pistol Pete.

  • why are good white players so rare nowadays lol.

  • I bought this video years ago. The ball was on a string in my hand.... Best dribbling how to vid I've ever bought!

    Stick wit it!

  • @cocomenow Annie's Song by John Denver

  • The melancholy music...fitting for the "blue-eyed soul brother"...legendary

  • flip flap jack and scrambled eggs omfg this guy rocks.

  • street ballers got der dribling from dis guy

  • whats the song at the beginning?

  • Pistol has to be one of the best players

  • What can you say? People often say that Pete Maravich was ahead of his time and era. He indeed was ahead, but ONLY of HIS era? Watch the videos of Pete, what he did 40 years ago, the best players of TODAY's ERA can't even come close to! Pete was ahead of ANY ERA and time, HANDS DOWN!

If an all-around game is used as a measuring stick, Pete IS the greatest basketball player who EVER lived.

The nickname given him in high school, "Pistol",, TRULY fits! If only we could see him today, OH MY!

  • @MarkCoupons hey man, thanx for the reply. I once heard the great Magic Johnson saying it all started with Pistol Pete. that's good enough for me. It's sad to think that in back "in the day" his style of play was frowned upon as hotdogging and not effective. boy were they wrong.

as a passer, only Magic Johnson was in his class. As a shooter, we're in Larry Bird territory. His only real knock was he looked a step slow on D. but with the enormous scoring energy, who knows really.

  • he was too young RIP

  • Hondo, said that Pete had the best ball handling skills ever

  • Pete was an absolute legend. He was not just about trick shots. he had the most incredible skills I have ever seen. I think when he came out from his mothers' womb he had a basketball attached to his hand. Absolute fucking legend !

  • he revolutionized ball handling in the nba

  • Some guys do tricks because they didn't have much game otherwise, Pete did this to make his game better, he could do this all day but in the end all this didn't make him average 44 points a game in college without a three-point line, thats probably the other ten million hours he put in the gym on shooting the ball.

The guy could do it all.

  • dude look when he's going full speed through his legs. if you think hot sauce can do that you are mistaken

  • Pistol pete did all this against college and Pro players and games not "and 1 wannabes and there lax rules..

  • check out the Walton talks about Pistol Pete. He says they recharted all of Maravich's games in college and factored in the three point line, not yet part of the NCAA game, and it came out to 57 pts/game career over three years!!!!! that's frickin' incredible.

  • @1Delta ... You're absolutely correct mentioning that when Pete's college career shots are carefully charted, his career scoring average would have been 57.6 points per game with a 3 point line. ASTOUNDING!!! However, I have heard SEVERAL basketball purists offer something else to consider that is EVEN MORE astonishing, and MUST be considered.

IF Pete HAD played with a 3-point line, he would have KNOWN IT, and purposefully shot 3's. THIS scenario brings him over 65 ppg! INCREDIBLE!

  • poor guy died playing the game he loved most

his heart was so in the game RIP

  • 4+ e bellisssimo
