well thank you for the wealth of the knows. like fred said, knowledge is power. not to get too greedy, but you wouldn't happen to know of any particularly diminished triad laden works would you? maybe with a few minors here and there. i have listened to what seems like days of bach and can't find it. i new what it was called over 20 years ago. thc...what are you gonna do, right?
when i was a younger lad in music class, i heard an organ piece by bach that was very dark, like this (but not this). it was also not tocatta and fugue. how many dark almost metal sounding organ pieces does he have? are they all close in 'BWV' numbers? or were they all scattered? the numbering of his songs is done in the order he wrote them, right?
@dilaudud Bachs Werke Verzeichnis catalog is arranged by genre. It is a thematical catalogue: choral works first, then organ works, then other keyboard works, and so on; hence, a low BWV number does not necessarily indicate an early work. For a chronological listing, they exists only in groups as far as I know, such as one for cantatas one for organ works, etc.
I love this...except for the staccato chords near the end. The chords should be held longer, because this is the climax, the most dramatic part of the piece.
Complimenti.
Please comment only if you have constructive criticism! Plus I do not care if you are better than him, your head needs to deflate! We tried, just work on your tempo, but the genral overview of the piece is there!
If you want to make such a condescending and pretentious comment, just keep it to yourself. This young man shared this video regardless of the flaws he most probably knew of. It's a great piece, very demanding, and it was very nice to seem him give it a shot. I haven't seen a single video of you playing, and even if you did better, it's no reason to act like such an obnoxious prick.
Professionals in any field value feedback, positive and negative. Of course, not all feedback is well-founded. Consider what critics have said about music and musicians over the centuries! Or what teachers say to their students! All one can do is listen to what is being said, assess its, and then decide what is worth taking on board. I'm sure composersan does that.
it's not a matter of positive or negtaive feedback, it's about manners. Still you bring a good point: there are professionals who rely on their experience, skill and knowledge to put people down and insult or mock them instead of making a constructive comment.
Congrats man, you really felt the music, and that the most important difference between being a Virtuoso and a player. Bravo, 1,5 years what a achievement.
Where is this wonderful modern like organ pipe?
Do you know any brand in the net for research new models availability ?
I think this is a little too fast, but that you played it much better than in the prior video you posted of the same pieces. You gave better attention to the phrasing.
Congratulations! you're better than before. Still, you have to improve in technique. You're still playing it in a romantic way, but it's getting better.
You should play it a bit slower, in order to prevent mistakes.
You played too much sttaccato between the pedal entry in the fugue and the last manual solo.

"Modern" organists tend to think it is necessary to show how fast they can play rather than showing how well or how nice the piece may sound if you had time to listen to the inner lines and subtle counterpoints.
Nice performance but - Slow it down. Your pants are not on fire.
Accipicchia!

Lovely organ. Where is it situated?

I think I found out about the organ:
I guess it is the Kleuker organ (from 1978) at the
Notre-Dame-des-Neiges church,
in Alpe d'Huez, France.

A reasonably competent performance, but rather staid in every way. And the instrument has more to offer in terms of registration.

Hey-- Keep it clean. Anyone who is willing to stick their neck out and make a serious effort like this deserves our respect.
Please refrain from insults and foul language, this person deserves to be respected
I studied music at Northwestern (graduated in 1976), but I am not an organist. Nevertheless, this performer is competent.

Attention to the prelude. The romantic technique is still very used by yourself in this section. You shouldn't play it like that, in a robato way.

1. zu schnell viel gespielt und drübergehudelt
2. die richtige Interprätation überlegen
3. bei dem Pedalsolo die falschen Töne ausbessern
