Clash was doing an interview in '78 or '79 and the reporter asked them why they didn't pronounce the words better. Joe said, "...if I try to pronounce the words it takes all the piss out of them..."

My dad gave me the CD when I was 15 because he had just bought the 25th anniversary version. I listened to it everyday. You know you listen to the Clash too much when you can understand their gibberish!

when i first bought this album in the 70s as a teenager i also thought this was great. i now realise i underestimated how graet it actually was. It is a very very fine piece of work which will last as long as popular music lasts.
