  • The coral is a wonderful experience in the technology of Africa music and instrument.Ali is a very rear gem,so wonderful.peace and love to his soul!

  • Thanks so much. I thought Ali looked so magestic in this clip and point in time in the video; of course knowing now that he subsequently was suffering from bone cancer in his last performances with Tourmani in his recordings in Mali makes his thin and guant appearance there all the more explicable. Two muscians lost in their music and ability to commune. Muchismas gracias!!!

  • Which number is this that Ali starts at about 7:55? Such a wonderful glimpse of this magnificent musician and the passion of his music in this video. I watch it over and over.

  • @Peteypod The song at 7:55 is called "Lasidan." Ali Farka and Ry Cooder play an awesome rendition of it on the album "Talking Timbuktu."

  • I think, were I a musician, Toumani would be the one person with whom I would most like to jam. He can connect with the audience and with his fellow musicians in a way that few people can. I can't recall any videos of one of his performances in which he does not break out that playful smile while doing a call-and-response riff.

As for Ali being a blues man and an African artist, check the fingers. The blues is mostly a guitar played like it was an ngoni. This is the root of it all.

  • Thanks a loooooott !!!

  • PRECIOUS !

  • Is ali's nail bleeding? Also, looks like toumani's having a hard time walking?

  • @treinspore Ali's finger's fine (artificial nail), Toumani was limping.
