Wow, what a rendition. They did it mostly Elvis's way but Bill whom I've seen in person would of been proud. You can hear what's missing in their exquisite and gracely beatles sound and that's that great English Yodling sound of Lennon in a style from the revolution song wooo, wooo alright blue moon, Blue moon keep on shinnin wow wow alright Yeah alright, Lennon would of been great in this so get Julian in there if you do it again. What a job and RIP George!
I would love to know the background of this..what inspired them to sing such an obvious hillbilly song,,,one of those things we'd say "that's about as likely as Paul McC. singing bluegrass"!! Great video!!
@Sunriseatnoon paul is a big fan of early elvis recordings, he has said so many times, and clearly this version is based on the elvis recording not the slow bill monroe original.
Codybedrosian ten minutes before he posted that: " Tee Hee...I have 10 minutes to kill before Hanna Montana comes on so I think I'll go and get people mad on Youtube."
By this time George had years of a successful solo career, proved to be a great artist by himself, but when he meets Paul he becomes again the backing vocal, play a secondary role (letting aside Ringo). In any other place Harrison would be the main star. Anywhere but this room. That's what makes it so special.
the fact he saw them as a threat shows he had some kind of appreciation of the beatles, you got to think that some one is talented enough to be threatened.
the beatles and Elvis have diffrent styles of music, I am doubtful Elvis coul'd have liked there music.
is this video in Beatles Anthology dvd boxset?

Good ol' Macca, stick a camera in front of him and he acts like a dork...everytime without fail.
Great musician but an idiot on camera.

There will be many contenders, but only one King...........Bruce Springsteen.
MAGICO240 3 years ago
you can't compare Springsteen to the Beatles!
can't compare Springsteen to Elvis
you can't compare them because he isn't on their league... he is no one compared to them.

Don't count out the George harmony, he was so much of the Beatles sound if you think about that voice adding to all the songs

british ppl sing these songs... is blasphemous!

Elvis loved the Beatles, and its flattering when someone else wants to sing YOUR song, so I don't think Bill Monroe would have minded either.

Elvis DID NOT love the Beatles. From what I have read he was incredibly jealous of them and considered them a "threat"
getsie 4 years ago
They were a real threat ! Elvis did covers of the Beatles later, and he did not have to, so I think he must have liked them, after all.
