Sephiroth was the best villain ever. He didn't just beat you down physically, but he tore you(Cloud) up mentally. That's the sign of a true villain. Sephiroth is second to none.

Garland transformed into an immortal archdemon, creating a time loop that let him live for centuries, Emperor destroyed Firion's hometown and turned into an almost immortal fiend. Golbez summoned four fiends that went against his brother on purpose, Exdeath nearly sent the entire world into eternal darkness, and Kefka's a psychopath. Compared to them, Sephiroth's a schoolyard bully.

This scene, combined with the line he said before this, nearly made me pee my pants. I make fun of Sephiroth a lot (after all, you tease the ones you love), but CC really reawakened my absolute adoration for this character. He is a spectacular villain - mostly because his villainy and insanity aren't his fault. He's a character you can really pity.

And I agree - that smirk, and especially those eyes, are enough to tell you he means business.
