I have a question. I put up my field of view test to test 30 degrees of my vision. Can someone tell me what the results are. I just don't know what it is. :o)
I'm getting this in about a week, paid for by Uncle Sam. They recommended the PRK instead of the Lasik, but I gotta admit, the sanding my eyeball part does not look fun.
@somerandomutewb went well. The Army likes to use a bandage contact to keep you more comfortable while healing, so really didn't need any pain meds except for day 3. I get the contacts out tomorrow, and while my vision isn't perfect, I can tell it is already better than before (without glasses). Everything has gone exactly like the doctors said it would, and if it stays that way, they say by week 3 I should be seeing pretty well.
The 3rd day after PRK Laser Eye Surgery is supposed to be the most painful, yet as I awoke this morning---moderate soreness & pain...perhaps everyone has a different pain threshold; Sensitivity to light has certainly increased today. And objects seem to be hyper-layered: Somewhat overlapping & distorted.
was just doing the same ting as you yesterday. unfortunately i didnt have a camera on hand. i wanted to see how the 'scrubbing' looked like.. eyes are still smarting today and tearing non stop!
I had prk done on me exactly 4 days ago and right now my vision is as bad as it was before. The docs told me it's supposed to get worst and then start to heal and my vision will improve, I hope so!
@baba371100 In fact, you will not have a right vision until 3 months after the surgey, I had PRK done on me, on November 26th, and now I have an almost perfect vision, be patient, you'll get the results, Congratulations !
I had prk done and it hurt like hell 2-4 days after cus the dr took the damn contact out too soon. Haven't had ne light sensitivity to speak of but it is taking a bit of time so far to get 20/20. It's been exactly a week now and it's gettin better. But no the surgery doesn't hurt and they don't sedate you just give you some numbing eye drops and you watch them do it. It's actually rather interesting being able to watch
I had PRK done yesterday and feel no pain at all, just discomfort from the contact lens that was inserted after the procedure, unfortunately the lens tends to get dry. Contact lens wearers who work in air conditioned buildings would know what I am talking about.
I had expected to experience light sensitivity but thankfully have experienced none, It is nothing compared to the sensitivity felt after getting some drops for certain eye tests in which you don't want to open your eyes at all..
well your eyes are not completely naked they have a Film covering ur cornea called epithileum, its a layer they remove before they could re-shape your cornea. in PRK they removed the whole covering layer and let the new epithelium to grow naturally, that reduces the risk of infection. but u gotta be very careful during the healing of epithelium. they put a bandage contact for 5 days after surgery.
dont get paranoid looking at the videos, in reality u dont feel a thing. the whole procedure took no more than 4-5 minutes. the first two three days are painful u wuld be lucky not to have any pain at all. but it wuld go away in 3 days u. in my case i took some very strong pain killers and was on sleeping pills tried to sleep as much as i culd and avoid other activities for the first 3 days ! PRK is safe but results vary and it takes alottttttttttttt of time to recover (u be able to see 20/20)
do they make u open ur eye the whole time or they put u to sleep n do it or do they make u take something so u dont feel anything and use something to hold ur eyes lids open? plz replyy i wanna know
Rem the PAin last atleast 2 days post surgery, i wuld suggest u to do what i did,
i went home and had the ponstons extra and pain reliever, after some time i had two Sleeping pills 1 mg each , i tried to sleep as much as i culd to get away with the pain, try to sleep the first two days third day there wuldnt be no pain but rem u dont see 100% clear 3rd day with prk it fluctuates and takes time to get back to normal but its SAFE :)
with me on 8 after the removal of my contact my left eye got infected with dont know what, doc said i rubbed it while sleeping damn it felts so bad and irritated i went to doc who operated me again he put a bandage contact the pain is on on day 10 im all good, but it wuld stil take some more time to see 20/20 over all im satisfied with my surgery
i wuld say its close to 6/6 i went to my doc and i culd read the whole chart. before the operation i culd hardly read the first line only, i been driving without glasses or contact in day and at night too. its day 28 post op now. but i believe its gona get even better over all its good its worth it. and above all its safe if your doctor is a professional and had treated atleast 50-100 patients before
i had it on 2nd of this month, the first two days were awful i wuldnt be able to keep my eyes open, but 3rd day it starts getting normal by day 6 doctor removed my contacts, with PRK u wuld see 20/20 the next day it takes times. but it gets real better u need to be patient unlike with LASIK i hear that gives u perfect vision right after surgery ]

I have my 1 yr check up tomorrow.. at last visit I was better than 20/20. I was terrified of this procedure and did understand all the risks, they were enforced several times and me and my friend were told that there is no testing to determine how a certain person will do, and it is elective and we accepted that.. Luckily after the pain of feeling like there was sandpaper in my eyes for 3 days, I was actually able to see driving at night for the first time and it was worth every penny. : )
@vTone22 my night vision was ruined. Halos, starburts and ghosting around lights at night. It's not safe to drive anymore. This can't be fixed. The worst part was the severe DRY eyes for over tow years. It was 24/7 pain. MY eye lids were stuck to my eyes every morning. It would cause corneal tears when I tried to open them. It has gotten better now but still sucks. The vision in the right eye has now regressed and sucks. MY left eye is 20/20 but now I have this huge black floater in that eye.
@EliteDefenseInc dang i had -6.5 in both eyes and its been a year now and i have 20/15 in both eyes. dry eye was never a problem but right after surgery halo were present but just for about a month.

I had PRK 2 yrs ago. Was a week at home on painkillers and sleeping tablets. Back to work 10 days later taking notes with a texta instead of a pen! Would recommend to do it at start of winter as your eyes are extremely sensitive to glare and halos around lights at night for months after also dry eye right up until a few weeks ago so really keep up the artificial tears. However it was worth it to not wear glasses again...it is amazing that I can see in the shower and when I go swimming etc.
i want to get this surgery cuz i have terrible eye sight and im scared does it hurt and how do you not blink for 3 min. what do they do to help you not blink
I had bilateral PRK done in 2004 after 11 years for glasses and contact. I wish i'd done it 10 years earlier. The procedure was quick and painless and I was back to work 4 days later. I went from -3.75/-3.25 astigmatic to nomally better than 20/20.
I DO NOT recommend going to a clinic like LASIK MD, etc for this procedure. Find a proper corneal surgeon who does the surgery. Keep in mind that with LASIK there have been reports of the 'flap' becoming dislodged up to 13 years post-surgery.
Do these pictures created by people who have had these surgeries look like your expectation of "20/20"?? The doctors measure a very narrow aspect of vision. Don't get this surgery!!!! go to visionsurgeryrehab . c o m /imagegallery . html
Take the spaces out of the web address to see the images. I am trying to save even one person from this nightmare!!! Notice really smart people do their research and don't get this?? Bill Gates wears glasses for crying out load.
prk ruined my eyes. BEWARE and don't trust a fucking butcher selling this shit. You will not find any surgeons who actually get this done. hmm I now now why.
@zezbid4 Remember that PRK surgeons will not be honest about REAL side effects or if you are a good candidate. They are protected by the wavier you sign. I have severe dry eyes 24/7. MY night vision is ruined and I can't drive at night. MY eyes hurt all the time. This is going on over 2 years. MY vision in my right eye regressed and is now very poor. They destroy the corneal nerves and they never gromw back. they destroy the Bowman layer that is needed to protest your eyes from UV rays.
@MrNooobtooob i had PRK surgery 2 years ago and that didn't happend to me. my eyes are dry (i had this problem before the surgery) and they hurt sometimes but my vision is really good. i'm sorry for what happend to you.
@zezbid4 The long term dangers are not known. YOu r night vision will be shot. Star bursts and halos. The laser destroys corneal nerves needed to signal tear volume. They ruin this. LAser Vision surgeons are 100% biased and will not give proper informed consent. Please do tons of research and ask the surgeon hundreds of questions. You will see them try and hide the truth. I lost my career at 32 years of age for the sake of vanity. BEWARE.
can u guys put me to sleep while i do this.....wtf!!!!! i aint havin him put that thing inbtween my eye and have ur knife poken it or w.e fuck u doctor!
Did you get measurements done directly after the surgery? If not, why isn't that done? Is there a measurement device in the surgery room? From what I have heard, halos can form after laser eye surgery if the area that is worked on isn't big enough. Beyond what point of the dialated area did your doctor go? Was it 5%, 10%? What were the results? Did you see any halos or starbursts?
PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) once was the most common refractive surgery procedure before LASIK was developed as a more popular alternative. Both PRK and LASIK are grouped under the umbrella "laser eye surgery," but each is a little different when it comes to advantages and disadvantages. LASIK patients have less discomfort and obtain good vision more quickly — whereas, improvement with PRK is gradual and takes days, weeks or even months.
@admorin PRK is performed with an excimer laser, which uses a cool ultraviolet light beam to precisely remove ("ablate") very tiny bits of tissue from the surface of the cornea in order to reshape it. When you reshape the cornea in the right way, it more precisely focuses light into the eye and onto the retina, providing clearer vision than before.
@admorin Both nearsighted and farsighted people can benefit from PRK. With nearsighted people, the goal is to flatten the too-steep cornea; with farsighted people, a steeper cornea is desired. Also, excimer lasers can correct astigmatism, by smoothing an irregular cornea into a more normal shape.
This is fucking horrible. don't do any type of laser surgery. grow some balls and give the Bates Method a try, it's not easy but it definetly work, without bullshit sideeffects of laser! Peace out!
guys, you know there are some dickheads on the internet that like to say alot of shit because they are douche bags
it doesnt hurt and heres some of the reason, ive been told that they put some drops in your eye to in a way freeze it so you dont feel anything, orrrrr they give you a sleepin pill so its like you didnt go through anything! XD

It has gotten better now but still sucks. The vision in the right eye has now regressed and sucks. MY left eye is 20/20 but now I have this huge black floater in that eye.

@EliteDefenseInc dang i had -6.5 in both eyes and its been a year now and i have 20/15 in both eyes. dry eye was never a problem but right after surgery halo were present but just for about a month.
calvertryan 1 year ago
@calvertryan you won the lottery on it. It too much of a risk when you understand the procedure. I made that fateful mistake.

You don't know what you're talking about.
Don't be afraid of LASIK. It's completely SAFE!
whitingclinic com (THE BEST WEBSITE IN THE INDUSTRY)
Dr. David Whiting is one of the most experienced LASIK surgeons in the world performing over 85,000 procedures. He was the founding LASIK surgeon for LASIK PLUS and Joffe Medicenter. Dr. whiting has never had a lawsuit and guarantees 20/20.

@EliteDefenseInc
The floater is not from LASIK. Who was your doctor? How many LASIK procedures had they performed? Dr. David Whiting has performed over 85,000 procedures without an lawsuit of issue. He guarantees 20/20. Never trust your eyes to a surgeon who has not performed more than 50,000 procedures or you ARE looking for trouble.

@EliteDefenseInc
You had an inexperienced LASIK surgeon.

I had my eyes done and know this surgeon personally. He has performed over 85,000 without an issue. He maybe the best surgeon in the world.

However it was worth it to not wear glasses again...it is amazing that I can see in the shower and when I go swimming etc.

did it hurt? cause i wanna get it. or feel weird
Eggo223 1 year ago
Your eyes are the most sensitive part of your body, and even the smallest scratch (like a nail scratch) will cause a great thing of pain

@MrNooobtooob WHAT happened to you? can you explain to me your experience after you got this prk surger? Im about to get this prk surgery,,,
zezbid4 1 year ago
@zezbid4 Remember that PRK surgeons will not be honest about REAL side effects or if you are a good candidate. They are protected by the wavier you sign. I have severe dry eyes 24/7. MY night vision is ruined and I can't drive at night. MY eyes hurt all the time. This is going on over 2 years. MY vision in my right eye regressed and is now very poor. They destroy the corneal nerves and they never gromw back. they destroy the Bowman layer that is needed to protest your eyes from UV rays.
MrNooobtooob 1 year ago
@MrNooobtooob i had PRK surgery 2 years ago and that didn't happend to me. my eyes are dry (i had this problem before the surgery) and they hurt sometimes but my vision is really good. i'm sorry for what happend to you.
astrydhk 1 year ago
@zezbid4 The long term dangers are not known. YOu r night vision will be shot. Star bursts and halos. The laser destroys corneal nerves needed to signal tear volume. They ruin this. LAser Vision surgeons are 100% biased and will not give proper informed consent. Please do tons of research and ask the surgeon hundreds of questions. You will see them try and hide the truth. I lost my career at 32 years of age for the sake of vanity. BEWARE.

Daydragon1234 1 year ago
@Daydragon1234 They use some kind of paralyzer on your eyelids so you don't get the urge to blink. Then they do the rest of the stuff.

LASIK patients have less discomfort and obtain good vision more quickly — whereas, improvement with PRK is gradual and takes days, weeks or even months.
admorin 1 year ago
@admorin PRK is performed with an excimer laser, which uses a cool ultraviolet light beam to precisely remove ("ablate") very tiny bits of tissue from the surface of the cornea in order to reshape it. When you reshape the cornea in the right way, it more precisely focuses light into the eye and onto the retina, providing clearer vision than before.
admorin 1 year ago
@admorin Both nearsighted and farsighted people can benefit from PRK. With nearsighted people, the goal is to flatten the too-steep cornea; with farsighted people, a steeper cornea is desired. Also, excimer lasers can correct astigmatism, by smoothing an irregular cornea into a more normal shape.
admorin 1 year ago
This is fucking horrible. don't do any type of laser surgery. grow some balls and give the Bates Method a try, it's not easy but it definetly work, without bullshit sideeffects of laser! Peace out!
